The beer was served too warm and flat which was quite disappointing. The kegs may have been changed recently so that may be a fluke. Additionally the buffalo chicken wrap was more akin to Teriyaki, which I find a bit baffling considering I was told they used Frank's hot sauce by the waitress. There was no spice or burn to it, just mostly salt. So in the end I didn't bother finishing the meal. Overall I think the Beach Bar has a pretty overblown reputation, and I doubt I'll be going back again. read more

As most people will tell you, the tomato soup is a must! I have never liked tomato based anything, however I love their soup! They also make some pretty good pizza as well. The staff is great and super friendly and I've never left dissatisfied. Location right across from Clark Lake makes it beautiful to eat outside in the warmer weather. Only complaint I could ever think of is sometimes it's a little over crowded depending on the day, which must mean they're doing something right. read more

Came on a beautiful 75 degree evening to set on the deck and overlook the water. The deck was only open if you wanted to order from the takeout counter and take your food out yourself. No servers. On a beautiful summer evening. Ridiculous. This was my first trip and will be my last which is sad because I heard so many great things about how nice the view was. Our view was of an old fireplace covered in dusty fake ivy. Definitely won't be back as the food was average at best. read more

We had pizza, soup, and salad buffet in the lodge room for our reception, and a great time was had by all. The food was excellent. Haha! I agree with the lady above who described the clientele. Wohoooo!'s were endless and "OMGOSH-ing" when running into people that you haven't seen since LAST summer are pretentious and...ugh! I went for a bowl and a sandwich just this past Sunday. The clam chowder was nice and hot. Remember to add fresh pepper and crushed red peppers. I appreciated that the soup was smokin' hot! The Reuben was served-I think-on wheat bread. Others might expect a Rye bread but I actually liked it better on wheat. I rarely order pizza as our family noticed that it's never been the same since they changed the cheese many years ago. Used to be "the best" around for pizza, a treat. Not so much anymore but still worthy. A good place to go with the family when day 4 rolls around and no one wants to cook. Could do without the pretentious 'new money lake front home-owners -news Flash-a lot of us have Lake houses around here as there are a lot of lakes. Do not order take out from the Beach Bar. I usually like the beach bar when I go in. I had ordered take out from there once before a couple of years ago and they messed my order up then....but I never complained, just dealt with what I was given. Tonight, my wife wasn't feeling well so I ordered take out. When I called the guy that answered the phone seemed annoyed that he had to take my order and said it would be 30 to 40 minutes. When I walked up to the counter 35 minutes later, I saw a pad of paper sitting next to the phone with my name on it....my order. I rang the bell and some guy came and told me that nobody entered my order and it would be another 20 minutes (no sorry we screwed up...just it will be 20 minutes, do you still want it?). No effort at all to make it right (he did say he would put a rush on it, but still 20 minutes). So I went to my vehicle and waited another 20 minutes. Got to the window and paid (nothing was discounted)...and no sorry you had to wait. On top of everything else , when I got I realized that I didn't even get the chips that came with my sandwich. I don't usually complain, and I am usually happy when I go in.....but tonight I am so annoyed that I may never go there again. read more

Best tomato soup around! Buuuut, the pizza is awful here. It looks and tastes like gas station pizza, I wish I had a picture. It's that type of cheese that melts all together and you can peel it off in one try. I do like the barbecue chicken pizza, so maybe it's something to do with their red sauce and cheese. We ordered a large pizza to share and all took a bite and refused to eat it. They do have great tomato soup and other options on the menu. The outside seating is a bummer, you don't have a waitress outside. You have to order take out and eat out there, so it's a pain if you need drinks/napkins and what not. read more

Great local place with Clark Lake IPA that is not too bad. Nothing fried which is great for my health! Would love to see more wraps rather than sandwiches. Maybe a side other than potato chips like baked beans or slaw. But pretty great food all the way around. read more

I really really really wanted to love this place. It's in a great location, it's nice and big with lots of outdoor seating. Perfect for a summer day! Unfortunately that's where the things I loved about it stopped. We went on a Saturday around noon. When we arrived the place was almost empty. We chose to sit on the patio and there was only 2 other tables of people out there. We decided to try the crab dip appetizer to start. 30 min went by before the dip arrived. Our waitress didn't even stop by to tell us that it was going to be a long wait for the dip. The dip was ok. Not great, could of been worse. It was warm not hot. The chips were just ordinary tortilla chips. We ordered our food when the appetizer came. Just the wraps they have. I had the club wrap and my husband had the buffalo chicken wrap. Both came with a bag of chips. They don't seem to have and normal bar food, such as burgers and fries. The wraps were decent, but the chips are kettle chips which both of us hate. We had to ask another waitress for refills on our drinks because our waitress must not of like us since she never freaking came back. We were at this restaurant for 2 hours! We won't be back. Sad too since it looks like it could be a nice place, but nothing is worse then bad service! read more

I was surprised at the hugely varying number of stars given this restaurant. We were there for lunch this month as a family group of nine, including three children. We were seated right away and served relatively quickly for a busy summer day. I grew up in nearby Brooklyn and it was great to be back in the neighborhood. The restaurant, established in the '40s, has been greatly enlarged and updated. Fun to see the old photos from the early days, and nice to know the place is still in the Collins family. My favorite item hands-down was the rich tomato soup, cheesy and filling. Good thing the fat and calorie content were not listed on the menu. Good sandwiches, fun atmosphere, video games for kids while waiting for food. And yes, I will certainly come here again when in the area. read more

My boyfriend and I tried this restaurant out this past weekend and it was pretty good. I had a chicken salad and he had a turkey sandwich on a croissant. Both were great, my salad was huge and my boyfriend's sandwich was packed with turkey. Service was friendly and we were sitting on the patio. This is a summer place, when the air is warm and the patio is inviting. Yet, warming soups are their best menu items, as well as great pizza. Drinks are inexpensive, though the wine list is lacking. Service is usually by appealing, college-age types who have more enthusiasm than polish. Is there any place with a name like Beach Bar that doesn't have hamburgers and fried foods? This one doesn't, except for burgers on Sundays and Wednesdays in the summer. Carry-outs are 10% higher cost. read more
