Pros: Beach-facing with a good view, free parking and close to amenities like Walmart etc Cons: Very pricey ($300/night) especially during peak seasons with bare-minimum rooms & no customer service. Trade Winds Breakfast Life is so easy at the Trade Winds Cafe. Bright sunny morning with the palms swaying the winds, dancing for me, mesmerizing, hypnotizing...my thighs are chaffing like crazy from this mornings 2 mile walk down the boulevard. But now at least I can feed these ham hocks some good trade winds cafe. Look at those pictures. Who wouldn't want a view like that while shoveling some eggs, meat, toast, and hash browns down. Reminds me of a scene from my soon to be released novel: "COVE." Coming to stores near you eventually. Yes, I'm a famous author. Thank you for noticing. This was probably the worst hotel I've stayed at for the price. This place was way over priced for how terrible the property was. The workers at the restaurant/bar were rude, room service doesn't exist (bringing towels, taking dirty towels, taking garbage bags, etc.) you have to call and speak to the front desk (who also aren't friendly) to eventually get anything in regards to your room. It was also impossible to find a luggage cart upon checking in, good thing we had a wagon for our child. The room itself was run down; wall paper peeling, wall paper bubbling, the outlet cover in one of the rooms was falling out of the wall, the condo was the most poorly air conditioned condo I've ever stepped foot in, and it was all around kind of grimy. The pool area had lots of options, main reason for the two stars, lazy River, three big pools, several hot tubs, and a kiddie pool. I never saw any pool workers skimming the pools or anything throughout the week I stayed here and the pools could've used it. They all constantly had debris floating in them, a film on top of the water and twice there had been a pool shut down. (Circumstances for the shut down? I'm not sure). My biggest complaint is how HOT one of our 3 bedrooms were, it was so hot the person who slept in the room got sick during the night because it was so hot. We told the front desk, their solution? "Maintenance will look at it". We never saw maintenance and the room was the same horrible hot temperature all week. At the doorway there was a hot vent blowing hot air right into your face so I'd say that had something to do with it; however, for the price that was paid for the rental it's unacceptable. read more

Discriminated Against for Being a Gay Couple - Heartbreaking Experience My partner and I stayed at Beach Cove Resort, expecting a peaceful, welcoming vacation. What we got instead was discrimination masked as "policy enforcement." While relaxing in the hot tub, my girlfriend and I shared a small, sweet peck--a moment of affection no different than what countless straight couples do without consequence. A nearby family apparently found our love offensive and complained to security. Shortly after, security approached us and told us there's "no public displays of affection allowed." Let me be crystal clear: we were not being inappropriate. This wasn't some steamy scene--it was literally a peck. Yet somehow, it became a problem worth calling security over? We watched other heterosexual couples hugging and kissing throughout the property without a single word being said to them. So, was it really about PDA, or was it about the fact that we're two women? We felt singled out, embarrassed, and deeply hurt. Beach Cove Resort allowed someone else's prejudice to dictate how we were treated, instead of standing up for inclusivity and equality. That's not okay. LGBTQ+ guests deserve to feel safe and respected--just like anyone else. Until Beach Cove Resort trains its staff to treat all couples equally and updates its policies to reflect genuine inclusiveness, we will not be returning. We came to celebrate love. Elevator was very slow as the one elevator is being worked on. Stayed on floor 3 and was right above the place that host parties so we can hear music up to 9-10pm which for us it's ok . Bad: I accidentally left my Invisalign retainers behind on my check out day, called and left 2 messages but no one called me back. It's been 4 days since. Terrible customer service. Plenty of outdoor pools but no umbrellas for shade and no idea where, if at all, you can get pool towels. Lazy river is nice, but some drunk dude was splashing around in it with his kids-- no supervision of that area to make people follow the posted rules. Where do I start. The owners that own these rooms need to be checked and rooms need to be updated. We stayed here for our family vacation and let me tell you it was the worst day ever to see what kind of room we got. What we booked was not the room we saw it's embarrassing to see what they put people in these rooms that have mold animal toys clogged toilet leaking sink refrigerator not cold washer not working ripped carpet and mold smell coming from AC unit . We walked out and went to other hotel only to be told everything is booked. I complained to desk only to be told we are sold out no more rooms but speak to manager tomorrow. I have to say the owners should be ashamed they rent rooms like this to people. I do have to say thank you to Marvis , Melissa , Mariana and ladejah for helping us and being very accommodating and getting us another room that was clean smelled good and was just like wow these owners like to take care of their place . Totally opposite of how the other rooms were. Thank you for making the vac right but the headache we had knowing what room we had at first was very upsetting. Owners need to be held accountable for not keeping the rooms up to par and safe for people to sleep in . Mold is a big issue and you can get very sick . The water machine in there doesn't even work. The door handle to our balcony is basically falling off. The food you get in the dining area isn't worth the price. The arcade is a joke. The coffee bar doesn't even open til noon. The house keepers are extremely room. They put their cart in from of the door on the elevator preventing me to take it up with them. Disclaimer: I rented an Airbnb unit through Julie (she has a handful of properties listed in this resort and others nearby) as opposed to going through the hotel itself so my experience may be different. They were all a similar units that she had listed and one looked nice and more recently updated for a small amount more so we chose that. We seemed to luck out throughout the weekend because we had no problem checking in (again we didn't have to go to the front desk which was nice) and was able to get a luggage cart and find the elevator to our room easily. Our one bedroom unit had a bathroom with double sinks, a bedroom with two queen beds and plenty of storage, then a kitchen/living room area with a kitchenette, small table with chairs, and a pullout couch. Plus there was a good size balcony overlooking the ocean and the pools downstairs with 4 chairs out there. We stayed for two nights and it was an excuse to get some beach and pool time. The pools were never too crowded day or night and the beach has the quickest access ever. The parking was very accessible to come and go and they had an ice machine downstairs that sells whole bags of ice for your cooler or freezer. The place is a little dated, but I've stayed at some that were half as nice in the myrtle area. I would absolutely stay here again. read more

Very very very outdated rooms. Urine stains all over our pull out bed. Housekeeping was instructed to spray bleach directly on the mattress in front of us. We had to get fans to get the fumes out of our room. They did nothing about it. Everything looks nice in the photos but the lazy river was so old and disgusting. We stayed for five nights and four days at Beach Cove Resort. My initial impression wasn't great. When we arrived, there was no one at the counter to talk to. But we didn't need to check in really, because we had the door code. There weren't any carts available to haul our heavy luggage up to our room with. When we pressed the elevator button, the wait was long to get an elevator. And then the elevator door wouldn't close. When we arrived at our room, the beds weren't made, there were items in the refrigerator, and the garbage cans were overflowing with trash. Our room wasn't ready, so we called the owner and they sent a cleaning crew. We left to buy some groceries while the cleaning crew tidied up the place. The beds were warm and there was cable TV and excellent Wi-Fi. The restaurant/arcade was closed at night. The pools were also closed at night and gates get locked, so you can't get to the beach at night either. If you're looking for something to do between 10 p.m. - midnight, you might as well just go to bed, drive somewhere else, watch TV, or just hang out on your small balcony. The view of the beach is beautiful. There are many pools, a floating river, and two hot tubs. Unfortunately, there was something floating in one of the pools that looked like puke. It floated there most of the day and people just swam around it or splashed water at it. I didn't get into that pool after I saw that. We mostly swam in the ocean, which had nice waves for body boarding. The place was quiet enough so there were no disturbances while sleeping, except the fireworks outside because it was the 4th of July week. We saw police ticket people on the beach for illegally launching fireworks. We enjoyed the fireworks though. The air conditioner in our unit on the 5th floor worked wonderfully. But the unit, and our entire building, frankly, was in need of maintenance. It was dirty and a lot of things were broken or malfunctioning. Most, if not all, of the units in the building were occupied. This place should be making a killing, so maintenance shouldn't be an issue, but it is. There were cracks in the cement support beams above the main door. There is a five-story parking garage that is open to the public. It doesn't require any card or code to get in. There is a bridge on the third floor connecting the parking garage to the building. Overall, I will not stay here again. We paid a lot of money for the time that we stayed, but we felt it wasn't worth it. We'll do a little more shopping around and read more reviews the next time we stay in Myrtle Beach. read more

. My overall experience was not bad. This is not a luxury hotel with exceptional facilities, and I understood that ahead of time. My primary issue was related to a security concern that drives the rating down. I needed room keys due to the original set becoming deactivated on the first night. I went to the front desk, where staff was very pleasant, to request additional keys. I was provided the keys without showing ID which causes great security concerns. All I had to do was provide my last name and room number. If someone with ill intent in their request wanted to harm someone and knows their name, they could essentially gain unauthorized access to the room. I think security measures should be put in place where ID is required and the name must match reservation in order to get keys remade. Again the hotel was not horrible and outside of this security concern I would stay again if needed. read more

Everything else about this "resort" was a huge disappointment. a. 1/2 of the elevators were out of service resulting in ridiculously long waits. No disclosure. b. We were followed to our room by someone desperate for a luggage cart because there aren't enough to accommodate guests. c. Half of the water features ( pools, hot tub & lazy river) were closed. No disclosure. d. Designated parking spaces for trucks, motorcycles and vans not enforced making it extremely difficult and dangerous to maneuver the parking deck. ~ Review started on 6/10/2019 Our credit card provider is somehow associated with a time-share company, so periodically they call to offer us 3 or 4 night vacation getaways for super cheap! My wife purchased the package in 2018 and if I'm not mistaken, the cost was around $299. However, the package included $100 back after attending a presentation, making a 3-night stay on the beach $199!!! Comparatively, the same room is about $200-219/night totaling $660+ before tax (regular rate for same time period). Beach Cove was the resort chosen by the time share company for our accommodations. My wife was super excited by the online resort pics and that it was a one bedroom unit. While the resort was fairly clean and had several amenities such as multiple pools, direct beach access, a game room and restaurants... the units (I believe) are individually owned, so the quality of each room will vary greatly. [ THE EXPERIENCE ] Our unit was on the 14 floor. On most of our vacations, we've been able to check in early when staying at such places. But Beach Cove did not allow check in until well AFTER the regular 4pm check-in time. Also, the sheer volume of people checking in at the same time revealed the flaw in such a large building only having TWO available elevators. Elevator lines were super long and it took about 8 loads of people for us to finally get on one of them. Waited nearly 20 minutes in the elevator lobby, but walking up 14 flights of stairs with all our luggage was not an option. Later in the week one of the elevators stopped working also creating huge wait times. MY ADVICE WOULD BE stay as close to the bottom floor as you can just in case you need to walk to your room. Truly made me worry how difficult it would be to evacuate the building if a sever fire broke out during our stay. Some mornings my wife and I chose to do an early sunrise walk on the beach, but were disappointed to discover the gates locked to the resort beach access until 8 am. This forced us to walk around to the front via public access points on the side of the building. Not a big deal, but a slight annoyance. On the plus side, I never got in the pools, but my wife thought they were nice. The parking deck was never super crowded, so finding a reasonable parking space was not a problem. However, the formation of the buildings feels a little strange. You are forced to look at all the other balconies with swimsuits and towels draped over the banisters. [ THE ROOM ] Our room was a weird layout. The small living area was at the end of a long narrow hallway when you first enter the unit. The living room was also equipped with a small kitchenette, TV and dining table. I shared the unit with my wife, 5 year old grandson and our 15 y.o. son. While there were two queen beds and a pull out, it still felt cramped. The "bedroom" has no windows of its own. Instead, it has shutter blinds that separate it from the small living area and a partial wall shared with the hallway. Outlets were difficult to find for charging electronics. There IS a safe... so that was nice and the bathroom was decent in size, but carpet, bedding and paint all could've used a major refresh. [ LOCATION ] THEE BEST part about this resort is the location. Directly on the beach and not too far from Barefoot Landing shopping area, which has lots of shopping, restaurants and nightly summer entertainment. Be sure to visit Johnny D's, Blueberry Grill & Taco Mundo. [ FINAL THOUGHTS ] You get what you pay for, and considering we didn't pay a lot, it was worth the price. But I honestly would never stay here again, especially if I had to pay regular prices for a unit. I would prefer either of the properties on either side of the resort if rooms are available! They are much nicer! PRO TIP - People can be awful and selfish. When checking in you are more likely to find luggage carts in corners of the parking garage or near the elevations on different floors than where they are supposed to be, in the lobby near the check-in desk. This trip was horrible small room pools dirty room dirty vending machine ate our money when we went to the front desk they said they couldn't do anything because they don't own it and walked into the office completely ignoring us. We went back up to see if we could try to get our money back again and ran into the security guard. We have stayed at Beach Cove multiple times over the years and always booked through the resort itself. While the inside of the hotel, when you walk in, is very beautiful and updated, the rooms are awful and some of the staff could use an attitude adjustment. To start, the beds in our room had cheap innerspring mattresses where you can feel the springs poking you. One of the beds had such a bad indent right down the middle third of the mattress that there's no way to get comfortable on it. It feels like you're half on an incline and half in a valley. I certainly don't expect to sleep the same that I do at home, but I woke every hour or two in excruciating back pain and my husband woke often as well with the same issue. Even my 7 year old tossed and turned and she can sleep anywhere. The cleanliness of the room wasn't up to par. The bathroom has mold growing around the overflow area of the bath tub as well as near the ceiling around the shower. There was no shower curtain when we got there which they did kindly bring up to our room, but I feared the curtain rod would fall on me while hanging it as the wall had some damage where it was secured and the rod itself was very wiggly. I had to constantly go ask for coffee, trash bags and toilet paper ( we stayed 6 nights and were given 1 pack of coffee and 1 roll of toilet paper for 3 people....). The light outside on the balcony is a fire hazard. It's not even properly attached to the wall and has exposed wires (see photo). The furniture (couch, chair and beds) all smelled like dirty feet. So gross. The pools are only cleaned first thing in the morning with no maintenance sweeps for debris during the day. There was always a layer of scum floating on the pool by midday. The icing on the cake came when we went to cash in our daughters tickets she won at the arcade earlier in the day. We entered the area and waited for quite some time without acknowledgement. We finally asked the bartender if there was anyone working that area. He told us that, yes, it was him and that he was too busy to help us and to come back later...this was at 7:45pm when we were leaving the next morning at 6am. He was definitely busy and overwhelmed but he was helping people that got there after us. While the approach was rough and quite rude, I'd have been way less angry had we just been acknowledged...customer service 101...we did go ask the desk if a manager could help because we just wanted to go to bed. He helped...but was very clearly annoyed. I'm sorry...I'm a paying customer too...and we've spent a lot of money at this resort this week (not only on rooms but food, drinks, etc). I do have to give credit where it's due and the security and maintenance staff were some of the nicest people I've come across, and the drinks at the tiki bar were delicious, but that's as far as the positives go and the only reason for 2 stars. Do yourself a favor and spend the extra money to stay at a nicer resort. This place could be half the price and we would NOT stay again. read more

Not the greatest hotel I've stayed in but the staff is friendly. Really need to redo the bathrooms at least in the room we stayed in. The fan doesn't work. When we first got there there was no electricity in half our room. My two friends sleep with cpap machines. We were contemplating buying a 50 ft drop cord. Love the view from the room. Love the pool area. We had to beg for towels. After the third time we were finally brought some. When we asked about the trash we were told to find the can on each floor and just leave the dirty towels outside the door. I would give a higher score on the review if only there was a better system to get towels and the fan worked in the bathroom. We need a roll of tp so I'll see how that goes. Dated resort. Good location but the unit felt like it needed an upgrade. Wore flip flops in the condo because carpet felt gross. Shower didn't drain well and the plastic curtain liner had holes. The space was good and it had everything we needed. Just not what you'd expect when you go on a "getaway" or "vacation". There is the charming beach bedding that had the palm pattern. Some may find it cheesy but it does remind you that you're at a beach! If your budget conscious it's fine. If you have little kids you'd might want to make sure the unit you get is updated because I wouldn't want them playing around on those carpet and floors. The property is nice with all of the pools and cabanas and direct access to the beach. The location is very convenient. Just wish the unit was in better shape. read more

The bath tub was stained with black marks on the bottom of the tub. We were roomed on the 16th floor and my husband is afraid of heights. I told the staff and they could not do anything about it They were able to accommodate 2 customers prior but not us. The indoor pool, sauna and hot tub were not available due to under construction. The elevators were in poor condition as well. This place was not appealing. We left shortly after checking in. read more
