The Beach Diner is always so welcoming. The staff works hard to make sure everything is just the way you want it. The place is clean and bright with fun beach-themed art. Breakfast burritos are my jam and the ones here are generously filled with eggs, cheese and your choice of bacon or sausage (I opted for bacon today.) The house made salsa is served on the side. Today I chose fruit as my side and it was a fresh and perfectly ripe assortment of melon, blueberries, pineapple and strawberries. Sometimes I opt for their grits which are always creamy and delish. My husband likes a traditional breakfast of eggs over, super crispy bacon, French fries and rye toast but today he shocked me by ordering an English muffin. The man still has the capacity to surprise after 40 something years. Great coffee, too.

Surprise call to join friends for breakfast at our old stomping ground! Never disappoint here with fresh hot food, good portions, lots of options and friendly service. Fun casual beachy atmosphere is relaxing and a great place to catch up with friends.

Had such a great time at Beach Diner! The menu was extensive, and the food was even better. Everything came out super quick, and the beachy atmosphere really topped it off. Highly recommend!

Great breakfast spot! I really liked the vibe of this place, super homey and beachy. Our coffee cups stayed filled and our server was very friendly.

Absolutely delicious. Went on Mother's Day and there was no wait! It's a very cute and small place but very welcoming! The server was extremely helpful and attentive during our time there. I ordered Eggs on the Bayou and it was absolutely fantastic! Super flavorful! Definitely recommend!

Great, friendly service. Delicious options for sweet or savory breakfast and lunch available. Our table shared a bowl of fruit and it was fresh and tasty. The tuna & tabouli sandwich was so good and the french fries were fresh and crispy. Would love to come back. Cute, family friendly beach diner atmosphere - the name says it

If you're looking for a solid brunch spot with good food and fair prices, beach diner is the place for you! We had a reservation for 8 people on a Sunday morning and it was definitely packed! The menu has tons of options, so I ended up going with a breakfast burrito. The burrito, in itself, only comes with eggs, cheese, and either sausage or bacon. I wanted something more fun so I had them add onions, pepper, mushrooms, and avacados. It also came with house fries which were basically roasted potatoes with onions. The potatoes were very bland on their own. Thankfully I had hot sauce to add some flavor to them otherwise I would not have eaten them. The burrito was a decent size, cut in half, so person for 1 person. The flavors were pretty good, but again, the hot sauce saved the day. I've had better brunch places but given the variety, price, and quantity of food, I would give it a 4/5!

I really liked Beach Diner. When I stepped in, I was immediately greeted. The interior and patio areas were spotlessly clean with a bright cutesy eye-pleasing décor. The atmosphere is super casual and laid back. You can't help but can't help but feel comfortable eating at Beach Diner. I had their egg Benedict which was perfectly prepared which was a steal at $8.48, while my Beloved enjoyed their "Eggs on the Bayou" with crabmeat and Hollandaise sauce. Everything was nicely prepared, and professionally served, and the coffee was of course bottomless.

Woke up early and wanted to grab some breakfast before driving away from our beach vacation. The only place open was the Beach Diner so we decided to give it a try. I wasn't really expecting much but my expectations were sorely way misplaced. We got a friendly greeting from the host Chris. He provided some great suggestions and promptly placed our order. The much needed coffee was delivered first and fast. What I really enjoyed was the coffee wasn't anything fancy. It was just a damn good cup of joe. I ordered the steak with pouched eggs on top. The ribeye was cooked perfectly and so were the eggs. When I sliced into them the beautiful yolk just flowed out and covered my steak. It was delicious. As a bonus I also got their pancakes which smelled of vanilla but tasted like a cloud dipped in syrup. Highly recommend trying them for breakfast. I've passed by Beach Diner a million times and finally got to try them this week. I got up early and saw the sunrise at the beach. My friend and I decided to stop in for breakfast. We arrived at 7:30 AM and it wasn't too crowded as it was a Wednesday. We were told to pick a seat so we found a cozy booth by a window. We were greeted promptly by our server requesting our drink order and she gave us menus. The service was friendly and our food came out in what felt like five minutes. Very fast! I ordered the veggie omelette with Swiss cheese and fruit on the side. The omelet was delicious and the fruit was fresh and sweet. I only ate half the omelet and all the fruit and I was satisfied. The diner has been in Atlantic Beach for 30 years and now I see why. If you are looking for a great breakfast and with a charming atmosphere (remodeled) stop by Beach Diner!

I can't believe it's been years since John and I ate here! We had been for breakfast numerous times and I thought we had dinner once- but maybe it was lunch since the hours are beach diner short. I had a couple birthdays and family gatherings camping at Hanna Park and this is an easy place to hit up breakfast and always good. There is good reason they are always packed. We had a table within a few minutes and were so grateful not to get the tiny 2 person booth that I swear they should only seat skinny people there! We've been crammed into that booth before- we laughed about it remembering. I was having a clumsy morning and when we were making our way to our table I saw a server in the aisle and thought I would be smart and move to the other aisle to avoid him only to crash into another server who spun around to leave from taking an order. Brick wall- we grabbed hold of one another so neither of us actually fell and John caught me from behind too. Great... I was just saying the night before that I have social anxiety... the person didn't believe me either! Onto breakfast- I confess I did not love my biscuits and gravy, but I know I love their waffles, omelets and pancakes. John ordered a breakfast platter that came with eggs, homefries, a pork chop and a biscuit and I did snag a few of his delicious homefries. The eggs were cooked perfectly- my biscuit was a little hard on the outside and I felt like the gravy was canned. No worries- I will order better next time. I am not dinging any stars because I know I love other dishes and John's breakfast was great! We need to go again soon!

I watched Tim greet people who came in after me with the same level of jovial and happiness that he showed me. He really starts out the visit on such a wonderful note. What a way to start your meal! Next, I have to come in Gloria, our server. She is a true gem! What a loving, caring, sweet personality and you can tell. She truly loves her job by her demonstrated actions. She truly made us feel as if we were the most important customer, however, listening to her with other tables they got the same level of personalized treatment as we did. Gloria is a true role model for the other team to adhere! Now let's talk about Erica the kitchen manager, she came out to greet us because we had a special request. Her customer centered skills were beyond reproach! She takes great pride in her kitchen and I have to say "her" kitchen because she owns the kitchen, the good and the bad. She is a true professional, who you can tell by her actions loves what she does. The food, what a tremendous difference this visit was compared to the last period. The pancakes were cooked to perfection and the scrambled eggs couldn't ask for anything better. Glorious suggested the cheese grits (I can only eat grits when they're very thick) and these grits were outstanding! They made my three eggs to order and they truly did a great job in the kitchen. The pancakes well, let's just say they were phenomenal. Overall, this was such a great experience. Tomorrow, my friend and I are coming back for breakfast after we go to the beach and we will only have Gloria's table! Thank you grumpy for such a wonderful experience, beginning with Aiden moving onto Gloria and ending with Erica, this was truly a 20 star spectacular visit.

Opening Yelp, I check the list of saved restaurants, and my wife points out this place. I mean, 4.9 stars with 525 reviews, and the Google rating is 4.6 with 3450 contributions. One would think with all those stars, you'd be guaranteed a great experience. That, of course, may end the evening with "brown chicken, brown cow." We arrive, and immediate retro-dinner vibes set in. As we walk past the back door into the kitchen, we see two small, well-used smokers. My first thought was, "Whatever gets the job done." I know I have turned out many great cuts of meat from mine. Next, I notice an older woman struggling to smoke a cigarette, hacking away; it was a clear sign she should quit. We walk into the restaurant, and the retro vibe continues, from the old diner seats and tables to the music playing from the ceiling speakers. Being a car guy, I liked the row of model cars above the bar, but they could use a feather duster or a Swiffer. One word of caution: if you are heading to the restrooms, be aware of the sudden change in floor elevation; there is no warning, and a trip-and-fall is possible. The first waitress comes over after we're seated; she looks like she had a rough day, judging by the leftover food on her black shirt. At least the table was clean and well-designed. Turning to the reviews, the highlighted items are fried chicken, country fried steak, and a few others. The menu offers some unexpected options, like crab-stuffed cod and beef bourguignon, demonstrating nice variety. We started by asking what their top-selling items were; they mentioned fried chicken and country-fried steak. Feeling adventurous, I chose the beef bourguignon, and my wife went with the crab-stuffed cod. We began with jalapeño poppers, which looked great when they arrived. Ignoring the caution, I took the first bite and immediately realized how hot they were, temperature-wise, as the filling blistered my mouth. The flavors were good, and the fresh jalapeño peppers were crunchy rather than soft. If this were an indication of how the rest of the meal is going to go, the "made fresh every day" motto displayed would be a treat. Well, except for setting caution aside for the hot items. Our dishes arrived, and the presentation was decent. My wife's dish looked good, but my beef bourguignon seemed very old and overdone. We said grace and started eating; well, so much for that "it's made fresh every day" motto. If mine were made fresh, the chef would likely have killed it twice. The chew of the first bite was so dry and long that it could have made Wrigley's gum proud. It took me back to my high school days when Hubba Bubba bubble gum first appeared. (Yes, I am that old.) I tried to push through it, hoping for a moist bite and those seasonal flavor notes; alas, they never came. The flavor profile was missing Rosemary and bold red-wine notes. Julia Child would be rolling over in her grave. I grabbed a piece of the cornbread that came with our selection to dip into Aujour. Well, you would have to question whether anyone tastes the items before serving them? A box of Jiffy Cornbread mix has more moisture and texture. It was something with the biscuits. There was still flour on the putter surface of the biscuits. Our server came by to check on us, and we didn't hold back our disappointment. She went to the kitchen, apparently took a piece, and confirmed it wasn't good. She then said she would comp the meal and offered to replace it with anything I wanted. Just then, my wife reacted after her second bite of the crab-stuffed codfish. It turns out she had a piece of crab shell lodged between her gums and a tooth, which was very painful--way worse than biting into a popcorn shell. Once it was removed, she managed to get a few more bites in before CRUNCH!!--another shell. By this point, the experience had fallen short of what we had seen in the reviews. The server returned and asked if we were interested in dessert. We agreed on a slice of Limoncello cake. When it arrived, it looked amazing again, but the first bite told the story. This was supposed to be Limoncello, and it was clear that the lemon had left the chat... I was thankful for the extra lemon I ordered for my sweet tea; once a squeeze of lemon juice was added, the chat was revived. Before completely passing judgment, we would like to experience breakfast. As much as the reviews raved about the menu items, I'll keep my opinion until then

Our server was kind, but not overly friendly (I don't want a performance, you know?). And our food came out maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. We were early enough to order the Sunrise Special and the egg portions seemed surprisingly large! The grits were lovely. The bacon was not the best, it's thin cut (reminiscent of microwave bacon) and I prefer it to be thick. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandaise could have had a touch more seasoning, but the texture was great. I actually preferred the Canadian bacon that came on it than the regular bacon that came with the Sunrise Special. It was perfectly salty and crisp. Oh! And it came with crab meat on it which was a special twist I didn't expect but really appreciated. The potatoes are cut into large chunks, but they are well seasoned and cooked nicely. I can't stand when a potato is undercooked, but this place didn't have that problem. And the cherry on top was the water. Florida locals may not be bothered by the ocean-y taste that comes with their drinking water, but for our family it is something that's hard to get past. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this water tasted as if it was filtered and the ice is that soft kind that's pleasant to chew. This might seem like a silly thing to add, but it really stood out to me and I'm grateful for it.
