I TRULY wished I could give 10 stars for the OUTSTANDING service we received from Andre! He is truly a phenomenal server who loves people based upon his interaction! When listening to him with other tables, he treats them the same as he does With regard to the food, we tried the croissant egg sandwich, which I will say was outstanding. We recently had brunch / lunch at The Toasted Yolk Cafe. We hit up the location at 10915 Baymeadows, just west of 295 in the shopping center with Winn-Dixie. I ordered from the Dynamic Duo (sandwich & soup combo) menu. I picked the Reuben and Chicken Tortilla Soup because it's been a minute since I've had either. The Reuben was good with my one critique being that I could've used a little more Thousand Island on it. The soup was good as well and not too spicy. I always order Chicken Tortilla and hope for the best because I've had it swing way past my threshold for heat but this didn't. It has a kick for sure but not too bad. My wife ordered the Hot Honey Chicken & Yolk Biscuit Sandwich. She really liked it with the biscuit itself exceeding what she expected. Like me, her only small issue with that she liked that hot honey so much, she would've liked a little more on it. That's something she knows to ask for next time though, so no biggie. We sat at the bar and service was great from everyone we interacted with. This was out third time here since they opened. My wife pointed out that she liked her first visit and this one better than the second. She had a regular platter the second time, so she thinks sticking with their specialties is the best way to go. I absolutely love Toasted Yolk Cafe. I've been back at least six times since it opened, and it's become one of my go-to weekend brunch spots--whether it's with the girls or a brunch date with my husband. I'm obsessed with all the Eggs Benedict (Arnold) options, especially the West Coast Arnold. Everything is consistently delicious, and the Cajun ranch sauce is absolutely to die for. It's the kind of place you keep coming back to because you know you'll leave happy every time. read more

Decided to take our sailor here during our visit to Mayport last week. They have plenty of parking and arriving midday, we were seated immediately. Our server took our drink order and gave us time to decide on the entrees. The food came out in a reasonable time frame. My wife had the pancake breakfast; my son the southern fried Arnold and I had the porkchop breakfast. My wife said the meal was good; however, she had to exchange the pancakes for a waffle, due to being too dried out, the chicken was excellent with a double portion and my porkchops were good, but the over medium egg was a bit on the over easy side. They did have a 10% military discount, which was appreciated by both my son and myself, who is an Army Veteran. Despite the food issues, I would still recommend you stop by, as they corrected the errors in a timely manner. read more

They have lots of options and the food was tasty. I got a spritz which was good albeit they did bring me the wrong one. I ordered the yuzu but got the strawberry. Sweet and tasty. We ordered a half order of cinnamon donuts. Tasty hot and went well with the cinnamon. One of us got the sammich and I got the southern Arnold. Both hot fresh and. The gravy also had good flavor. Husband absolutely loved his fried chicken Benedict. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, the gravy was good, the eggs were perfect. My brisket scramble was just ok. About half was left on the table. The biscuit is dry but is great with gravy. The cheesy grits were great while they were hot. We also tried a mimosa and a spiked cold brew. I couldn't tell there was vodka in the cold brew, so it could have just been coffee, but it was good. We liked that there are options for the mimosa juice. Husband got pineapple for one and apple for the other and loved them. The service was kind of slow but not horrible. We went on. Sunday morning and there were a ton of jags fans getting fueled up before the game. Music was light and fun. read more

Food is excellent, service was terrible. Had to ask for things multiple times, food came out in waves and not all together with items still missing. We had young kids in our group that were hungry and ordered for them first but somehow the adult meals came out before the kids. Despite it being a sunny morning, the interior of this place is dark and dingy. The sick dim light from the cheap LED lights gives a sickly feel to the overall atmosphere. The prices on the menu are outrageously high. $11 for two pancakes!! and $16 for an overcooked omelet containing sausage meat that smelled a rotten. It's obvious that they are not getting enough customers, so the kitchen staff is probably not disposing of expired and otherwise rancid ingredients. This is a poor excuse for a breakfast reastaurant. I enjoyed my breakfast at The Toasted Yolk Cafe. I was pleasantly surprised to find this place in the Baymeadows areas. I'm not sure how long it's been open, but the inside looked newly renovated. The color of the inside is pretty fun. They really took it to another level with the color green throughout the inside. They really should consider adding a green eggs and ham dish to the menu lol. Moving on, the breakfast was really lovely. The pancakes were slightly sweet which I loved. I didn't have to use syrup. The grits and omelet were also good. The grits had a unique taste I couldn't exactly figure out, but they were pretty good. Maybe it was the cheese. For a Saturday, there was no long wait time if you wanted to brunch inside. This time I took my food to go, but I would like to come back and maybe enjoy some other items on the menu. read more

A had some free time in between errands so I decided to come here for some brunch. I got here within the noon o'clock hour and the place was pretty lively. The servers all wear lime green or pink shirts and even though it wasn't that busy inside they were all over the place. Since it was just me I sat at the bar. Looks like they have looks like the have a full bar with beer, wine, liquor, etc. Several servers checked in on me as they were helping others before they came to take my order. I ordered their Sangria to start which was was the Spanish Sangria in the orange-labeled bottle with extra fruit. I wanted the Yolkwich but I decided to get the Alaskan Arnold (Two English muffin halves topped with salmon, spinach, two poached eggs, and Hollandaise sauce) with grits. More protein. One of the servers brought me my check already before my food came out. She said "No rush, it's just a requirement". It bothered me at first but I get it. The Alaskan Arnold came out and it looked delicious. It was sitting up pretty high on the english muffins due to the salmon pieces and they used more sauce than what I'm used to but I was fine with that. The churro donuts are amazing! Fresh, hot, sugary and crunchy on the outside and aoft on the inside. Definitely recommend. I really ejoyed the hashbrown casserole and would have loved to try it woth all the toppings. We enjoyed the shrimp and grits and the brisket casserole. Wasn't a big fan of their southwest bowl though. Definitely thought it would benefit from more veggies and was spicier than I'd like but other than than the spiciness, i didnt really get too much more flavors. read more

The food was ok honestly my eggs Benedict was hard and over cooked I could barely cut into it. The hash brown casserole was literally the size of my palm and tasted a little old. Breakfast food should be easy to get right well that's not true. My eggs tasted like powered eggs, the bacon was so salty, the grits weren't edible, the fountain coke was flat and the waffle was hard and tasteless. We've been to Toasted Yolk in Biloxi, MS several times and had such a great experience that we were excited when the Jacksonville location opened. Sadly, after two visits in the last couple of weeks, it hasn't lived up to that same standard. Both times, it took at least 25 minutes before anyone came to our table, and on each visit food items were forgotten or left off our order. Even when walking in, there was a noticeable wait before being acknowledged, which made it feel like the restaurant may be understaffed. This is very different from the Biloxi location, which is always busy yet incredibly efficient and well-run. I truly believe the Jax location has potential and could benefit from learning from the Biloxi team. I hope improvements are made because I'd love to be able to recommend this location in the future. read more

Restaurant had only just been opened at this location. It was nothing special. The bartender was not in yet, so the manager made our Bloody Mary. He would never make be able to make a living being a bartender! Service was OK. Food was OK. Think we will try again after they have been open after 6 months. Vibe is weird, not a mellow breakfast/lunch place but barren walls except for TV's showing games and a full bar. Leans more towards sports bar which was not the feel we were expecting. Food was ok for me, ordered the Toasted Yolk which compares to the Cracker Barrel's Eggs in a Basket. Barrel won by a long shot as the food was very bland and hashbrown casserole was a lump of cheese. Finicky hubby loved their gravy and sweet ham breakfast. Although this is a nice restaurant in a great location, improvements can be made to the food and service. We waited a very long time to receive our food without an explanation or acknowledgment. The scramble needs improvement on appearance and taste. Instead of the cheese being scrambled into the eggs, it seemed to be an afterthought on top of the dish. The grits and bacon were good; however. I could not finish the rest of my scrambler because of the taste and appearance. Our server was nice, but she was very busy making drinks and serving patrons at the bar. The entire staff including the manager seemed rushed and unorganized.
