Stopped in for Easter brunch with our family and had a wonderful experience. We were sat quickly, our waitress was wonderful (I think her name was Kayla) and food came up quickly and accurately. My husband got the steak hash special which was delicious. My mom got the chickenchonga which was also really good and I had the BLTE which was good but I wish the bread was toasted. We stopped in on a Tuesday mid-morning following a late night football game. Service was a bit slow, but our server was very attentive, just very busy. We ordered the kids French Toast, Breakfast Tacos, the Farmhouse Hash, Lemon Ricotta pancakes and the Million Dollar bacon. This was way more food than we should have ordered. The kids meal was enough for an adult, well almost. But my husband and I could definitely have split the tacos. The pancakes are massive, but the menu warned us. Everything had such great flavor. Overall the food was great! When you arrive someone will seat you, but they didn't have a designated hostess, so some people had to wait a bit. I assume on the weekends there is a hostess. I think they were simply staffed for a regular Tuesday, not one following Monday Night Football. Bay Meadows is where it's at! This is my favorite location to grab brunch. Have a great outdoor outdoor patio and plenty of indoor seating. Everything is always clean fresh and inviting. I love their local coffee, which says a lot because I am a coffee snob. A carrot pancake was so delightful with tons of raisins and fresh carrots throughout. I can't describe the disappointment time after time when I order the Ham & Cheese Melt while calling my order in and specifying (sub gf toast) and it comes with gf bread. First watch did amazing again. I got their coffee which comes locally and is very delicious. I got the traditional breakfast and the eggs were cooked perfectly and the bacon is thick and crispy. The carrot cake pancake was huge and tasted like the real thing for the fresh fruit. I got grapes and black areas which I love and sourdough toast. This is one of my go to brunch places, I love their Belgian waffles it's always fresh. I think I only had to send it back one time because it wasn't hot. My butter didn't melt when that was brought to the table. But they quickly corrected. The matter. Service is always pretty decent if there's an issue with the food, they always fix it with a smile. I do appreciate that. It's pretty casual in there so people come in there after church, or after they get out from the gym, so that's kind of a come as you are type of place when you just don't feel like cooking. I do like that you can get a sangria there with your brunch so that's always nice. I idea that like that they change up their menu on occasion with seasonal items. I came in hoping for a good brunch experience, especially since it was my first time hanging out with my boyfriend's sister one-on-one -- I wanted things to go smoothly. Instead, the service we got was careless, awkward, and honestly disturbing by the end. Our server, Franco, seemed uninterested from the start. He rushed through our order, barely acknowledged us, and when the food came out -- NO utensils, NO napkins, and my side of potatoes was given to my guest and she did not receive her order of potatoes . We had to flag down ANOTHER server just to get basic things corrected. But here's where it went from bad to straight embarrassing ,after we paid (without tipping, due to the clear lack of care), Franco literally followed us out to the car, and asked why we didn't tip. I couldn't believe it. Who does that? It was invasive, inappropriate, and borderline harassment and EMBARRASSING ON HIS PART. I've worked in customer service. I understand tipping culture. But this? This was delusional behavior. Tips are earned not chased into the parking lot lol. The fact that he had the audacity to approach us like that, without shame, tells me he's probably done it before and gotten away with it. That's a major red flag. For a $50 brunch, we got zero hospitality, multiple errors, and a weird, uncomfortable encounter that left a terrible impression ..on both of us. I have had mixed experiences here. I continue to return because they have fun items that you can't get anywhere and when it is cooked correctly, it is pretty good. However, pretty much every time I have gone, there has been some type of issue either with my dish or someone else's in my group. I usually go with 3-4 people and each time something goes wrong. I have ordered the skillet hash's and there was one time where the egg which I always ask for over medium was not cooked. I mean the whites were raw and everyone at the table agreed there was no way to eat it. I asked for them to be remade and it came back the same way. The waiter told us there was new kitchen staff and they were sorry. I'm sorry but there is no excuse for serving severely undercooked eggs twice. Another time, we had three people order breakfast and one order a salad. 20 minutes after the breakfast came out, the salad hadn't so we asked the server and she kept saying it was coming. It was a salad.....It took a half hour to get the salad after our breakfast was delivered so by the time the salad came, our breakfasts were cold. Another time, the potatoes were raw, just not okay. And last time they were out of alternative to pork sausages which sucked because someone in our group doesn't eat pork. They were out of the turkey and chicken. We were sitting back by the kitchen and they waited until our orders came out to tell the person they were out of sausage and hadn't even started making her meal until she was told so once again, we waited another 10 minutes for her meal to come out and ours got cold. It feels like you have to be rude to the people in your group if you want fresh food. Also, before they brought the order, we could see our orders just sitting in the window for over 5 minutes while it cooled. It wasn't busy. The staff were just talking. The service was great but the server who we had at the time which I believe as well my partner agreed that they either just got off training or is still training to become a server which is no biggie, but they forgot to take the drink tray off the table when they dropped off our drinks. Brand new First Watch opened up off Baymeadows, these are a chain but one of the better ones IMO, walking in it was very nice and clean, open layout. We we're seated right away, server was sweet and quick, I started with their seasonal special of a Cinnamon Toast Crunch drink with coconut rum and cold brew coffee, YUM!! It was served with a little carafe to refill it yourself, great presentation and delicious! I got the million dollar breakfast sandwich which was also delicious! This is our first visit to First Watch. The mask policy is not enforced but lost people do wear them in transit to their tables and waiting. When we arrived at 945 AM it was semi full but were seated instantly. By the time we left at 1032 AM there was a line out the door. No socially distancing was possible in the lobby. Shoulder to shoulder. We got a booth so we could social distance and glad all the staff wore masks. Our server was a very pleasant young man who waited on us at table 49 (don't recall his name) The salmon frittata was insanely delicious and just the right size. The side salad was barely dressed which was wonderful. I also got the morning meditation which was $4.49. Pricey but it was beautiful and delicious. My hubby got the bananas foster and fresh OJ. The French toast was very very sweet and he was unable to finish it. The toast was brioche and very very fluffy but the syrup was drowning the bread. It did not need to be swimming. But it was very delicious; just best to split between 2 people because it is like dessert. He enjoyed his side of link sausage and he said it had a great savory flavor and not greasy. I decided to order the works omelet. The omelet had onions, bacon, sausage, and cheese in it. The omelet itself was a little fluffy, which makes it good and filling. Only thing that could be different would be the onions. I think the onions could be grilled a little longer and diced up. It had to many onions and not diced up. I also had the homestyle potatoes. They were very good and grilled up well. I had to eat them right way as they tend to get cold quickly and doesn't taste that good.
