We came here to finally try their popular desserts but we stayed for dinner! We loved the drinks and our food. We ordered a board as an appetizer and waited close to 35 minutes for it before our server realized she never rang it up. We were upset as we wanted something to snack on as we waited for our meal. She offered to quickly have it made, but our food was almost ready and it did not make sense to us anymore at that point. But no other resolution was offered. The food was great, but it took a while to get our food. It didnt seem to be busy, yet they where slow. Im sure if we had our appetizer, we wouldnt have noticed the 45 minute wait. Biscotti's is always my fave restaurant top 5 in Jax list/ I think it's my #1 because I always receive excellent food and great service for over 10 years, not one bad experience!! And i go during different times of the day/ different crews same wonderful experience! We had the braised short rib and I had my usual salmon on this Thursday and wow!! Biscotti's is a favorite of mine and I have never been disappointed. Their chicken salad sandwich is the best in town and it's hard to order anything else. The grapes, pecans, and havarti dill cheese make it extra flavorful. Today I went with the Salmon Salad with crispy shitake and warm lentils and marinated tomatoes over field greens and it was amazing. My friend had the Goat Cheese Salad - Warm Pumpkin Seed Crusted with berries over field greens and that was amazing as well. I've never ordered dessert here, but always do marvel at the dessert case. I'm not sure how I have passed it up. Brunch is particularly nice here on the weekend. It helps to have a reservation, as it is a popular spot. It also helps to visit during non peak hours. Pretentious and overrated. I wanted to like this place - it has such a hype. But the food is terrible. The burger is greasy/wet, it is drenched in a bland cheese sauce, the meat is underseasoned, and the patty has no sear. Definitely not worth anything near the $21 cost. The salmon BLT is served on bread that is cut so thick you're mostly just eating old/stale bread, and the sandwich is also greasy. Their french fries come drenched in a disgusting garlic oil and cheap grated parmesan. It's bad cooking dressed up to look fancy without any understanding of the basics. The restaurant fits as well. Its ugly artwork is accompanied by furniture that looks like it was ripped out of a Le Pain Quotidien. The cakes look amazing, and the bar is nicely designed and well stocked, but neither saves the drab surrealist-cafeteria vibe of this pretentious establishment. read more

The food here is absolutely delicious. As you approach the entrance, you're welcomed by the outdoor seating area. Inside, you're immediately greeted by the dessert counter, with the hostess to your right. I love the dimly lit ambiance that gives the perfect setting to enjoy your meal. One of my weaknesses is bread, and Biscotti's has the best mozzarella bruschetta. It's an absolute must-try when visiting, along with the salmon BLT. I always pair mine with sweet potato fries. We had Saturday morning brunch at Biscottis in the heart of Avondale. This was our third or fourth time there and I'm reasonably sure we've always been during breakfast / brunch hours. I had the Steak & Eggs. I asked for scrambled eggs, medium rare steak and smoked cheddar grits. The eggs were great and I knew I liked their grits so the question mark was the steak. The medallions were a good size and quality plus the cook temp was perfect. I've tried a few things for their brunch menu but this will probably be my go-to from here out. My wife ordered the Vegetarian Quiche and picked the Apple & Sage Chicken Sausage Links for her side. I'd tried their Quiche Lorraine previously and loved it, so I assumed she'd like the vegetarian version. She did. She REALLY loved it. We didn't get home until 8pm or so but she must've said "Wow...I REALLY liked that quiche!" about 10 times randomly throughout the day and maybe two more times after we got home. If there's any sort of chicken sausage on a menu, she's going to order it so she liked that as expected. Avondale is one of a few areas we don't eat in enough because we're always expecting a parking battle. Whenever we go somewhere like Biscottis, we're reminded that the meal is worth the parking effort. read more

Took my best friend here for her birthday brunch. Service was good and the restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. The waitress was friendly and attentive as well. It was pretty noisy during brunch time but the noises didn't bother us! The area was clean too. I would suggest you do a reservation because it does get crowded. We had the Brie cheese, toasted baguette, and garlic gloves appetizer. It was really good! Really liked the fruity flavors of the jam and it went well with the warm Brie, toasted garlic, and bread. The bread was warm and fluffy and we loved the roasted garlic on top. The garlic was roasted perfectly and spread like a dream! We had the house quiche and house burger. The quiche was delicious and the flavors were so jam packed into the quiche. It came with a side and my best friend chose bacon. Bacon was perfectly crisp and fried to perfection. I had the house burger and did not enjoy it. It was soggy from the aioli and the bun fell apart. It had so many flavors going on and I tasted mostly tart and sour than anything. The dressing on the arugula was the culprit and to me, it was way too tangy for the burger. I would not get the burger again. I got the fries and they were hot, crispy, golden, and tasted great! We also got German chocolate cake Togo and the cake tasted great (chocolate, pecans, and coconut flakes) but it was dry in some areas. The areas with a lot of frosting weren't dry and it tasted divine and not too sweet. Overall, we would come back again but probably try other things. It wouldn't hurt to try this place out! They were crispy with a lightly spicy dipping sauce. The sandwiches came on beautifully soft bread. The burgers were okay but the fried zucchini sandwich was exceptional although the cheese wasn't as hot as it could have been so it wasn't melty. The risotto was well cooked and nicely portioned. Our waitress was awesome and made great recommendations. I settled on a half portion of the crème brûlée French toast and it was amazing. No syrup needed. The house made sausage was well seasoned. It's taken me years get to Biscotti's because it's on the other side of town. Not only is this a darling little place it's located in Avondale full of walkable shops. Go for lunch like I did and then take a stroll around. I started with the tomato basil soup which was absolutely delicious. It comes with a dollop of goat cheese to swirl around in your soup. So good! Next I opted for apple dill chicken salad wrap but I changed to sourdough bread and held the cheese. The bread was really fresh and delicious. I felt the chicken salad could have used more flavor. More dill and more apple. My friend had the same sandwich and felt it needed something as well. She opted for sweet potato fries as her side and they were very good. Of course, here are the star of the show all the desserts. We opted to share bread pudding, which we both really like. It was served warm with the side of vanilla ice cream, and it was excellent. biscotti is known for their desserts and this did not disappoint. I definitely will be back. One night after a hockey game in town, we stumbled up across this place. We were gonna go to the mellow mushroom across town, but we noticed that this place so it's open super late. They were able to see six people right away and it was like 10 PM. This restaurant is so romantic and has the most adorable date night vibes. We didn't have any expectations for this place, but once we took our first bite of our meals, everything tasted way better than we thought. My husband's burger was delicious, It had a great sauce on top. The waitress was so sweet. My aunt and I was sharing a meal and she split up the meal for us into two plates. We ordered the meatloaf sandwich and it came with a pesto pasta. And what really caught my eye walking into this place was their case of homemade cakes. We decided to stop at this bustling restaurant while traveling through Jacksonville. While on the road, I called ahead to make a RSVP. We arrived to the area and had to travel around the block a few times to look for street parking. We finally parked, walked in, and were seated right away. It did take some several minutes for a server to greet us, but by the time he showed up, we were more than ready to order our entire meal. I ordered the Sweet Potato Red Pepper Soup. It was naturally sweet and a very thick pudding-like consistency. I thought it tasted and looked like baby food. I think I would have appreciated a thinner consistency and a more savory balance. I was not a fan. I also decided to order the "TMB" Salad (marinated tomatoes, mozzarella medallions, & balsamic vinaigrette). The salad was a very generous portion. The fresh basil added a nice taste to the salad. But the stand-out ingredient was the tasty, house-made balsamic vinaigrette. This delicious dressing gave the rather simple salad an edge! Hubs enjoyed his veggie omelet with sides of bacon and smoked cheddar grits. All in all, this was a very pleasant lunch stop before continuing in our travels. You'll want to make a reservation. The interior is both casual and elegant. Sitting outside feels like a true cafe. Great decor, great atmosphere. Service is always great and I've never had anything that wasn't a home run. Prior, I've had their Omlette, their amazing hash browns, the steak salad is the best of its kind anywhere, and this weekend I tried the Zucchini sandwich. The zucchini was lightly fried, fresh mozzarella, the perfect roll and their house seasoned fries are really tasty. Just an impeccable sandwich. Try to save room for dessert here because they have amazing cakes. I've had their carrot cake here multiple times and it's incredible. If you haven't tried Biscotti's, I highly suggest you do. Variety of seating options with bar seating, booth/chair small tables by the bar, a variety of tables throughout the dining room, and outside sidewalk tables as well. Last minute Saturday lunch for two, made a quick resy and luckily found parking pretty quickly. Bonnie was our server and wonderful throughout, especially making sure our waters were always refilled. Seating is close - not much room between tables. Love the quaint/downtown feel but with the large number of people during the weekend it's hard to get a decent park near the restaurant. Went to biscottis during brunch 10am on Sunday. I ordered an omelet and my husband ordered sausage biscuits and gravy. We ordered coffee upon arrival and Shannon(awesome server) made it perfectly! Off to a good start, so I thought. Me and my husband were enjoying our coffee that we weren't tracking how long we were waiting, but then our bellies started growling. We realized we had been waiting for 45 minutes and nothing. So we waved our server down and she looked into. She said we had a few more orders ahead of ours. Our food arrived to the table 15mins later and we were excited just to be able to eat! We took one bite of our food to discovered I food was luke warm/cold. So disappointing especially when we've been waiting an hour for 2 small plates. We let our server know. Now they took our plates and brought out food 5 mins later. I notice that all they did was heat up my food( I know this because I took at bite of it) they said that's what they normally do, I said not acceptable also the food still hasn't hot and fresh. The finally brought me was supposed to be fresh food and still barely warm. Me and my husband ate enough to say we ate and wanted to leave. We asked to speak the manager and he down played their mistakes. Didn't want to compensate us. We will not be returning. Also, I think most of their food is premade. read more
