Long story short: Nice little breakfast spot with good service. We came right before 8am and were sat immediately. Our server was kind, but not overly friendly (I don't want a performance, you know?). And our food came out maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. We were early enough to order the Sunrise Special and the egg portions seemed surprisingly large! The grits were lovely. The bacon was not the best, it's thin cut (reminiscent of microwave bacon) and I prefer it to be thick. I ordered the eggs Benedict and really enjoyed it. The hollandaise could have had a touch more seasoning, but the texture was great. I actually preferred the Canadian bacon that came on it than the regular bacon that came with the Sunrise Special. It was perfectly salty and crisp. Oh! And it came with crab meat on it which was a special twist I didn't expect but really appreciated. The potatoes are cut into large chunks, but they are well seasoned and cooked nicely. I can't stand when a potato is undercooked, but this place didn't have that problem. And the cherry on top was the water. Florida locals may not be bothered by the ocean-y taste that comes with their drinking water, but for our family it is something that's hard to get past. We were pleasantly surprised to find that this water tasted as if it was filtered and the ice is that soft kind that's pleasant to chew. If you decide to busy for brunch, expect a wait. There are plenty of options on the menu and the prices were decent but the wait was long. By the time my food came out it was quite cold. The potatoes were well seasoned but the hollandaise sauce was bland. Overall a decent quick bite. read more

It was a beautiful day and we wanted to have brunch after spending the morning at the beach. The place was packed and had quite a line of customers waiting to be seated but we decided to wait. We were seated within maybe 20min after being 11th in line. The menu had a great selection of breakfast and lunch items that included pancakes, chicken and waffles, omelets, sandwiches and salads. Our server Selena was great-super friendly and attentive. She checked on us often enough just as our drinks got low and needed a refill. My family of 18 (extended and immediate members) were camping at Fort Clinch and decided to stop by on a rainy day since we couldn't cook at our campsite. We were seated right away. Definitely a diner vibe going on. A little dark inside especially at breakfast time. They use real butter which was a great relief because no one wants grits with margarine. When traveling to a new location, it's good to know where the locals eat for the best dining experience. This was the case the with The Beach Diner. There was a good crowd here for breakfast. The decor is bright blue, yellow, white. It's warm with pop culture beach themed art on the walls. Even though it was busy, our service was quick, pleasant and the food came out very quickly. The menu features many options from standard breakfast fare to healthy or upscale. I ordered the vegetable omelette. Very good. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The peppers still held a bit of a bite. There was cheese inside and out and the salsa worked well as a topping. The hash browns were good as well as the toast. The coffee was very good. Great food and service. Clean, busy place, with great breakfast and lunch options. My wife got the Mediterranean Salad and added a fistful of shrimp for just $3! The salad had a great collection of mixed greens, fresh cucumber, OK tomatoes, and a zingy dressing. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and tasty. I got the Turkey Rueben (sometimes referred to as a Rachel). It was also excellent, with flavorful turkey, tasty bread, and a nice combo of dressing and kraut. We frequented this place for breakfast while staying in Fernandina Beach. It was always hopping for breakfast, but getting seated at the busiest times took usually a max of 15 minutes for 4 of us. I ordered take out and I was definately surprised that my Reuben was not as expected. The meat was dry, I had asked for Rye bread (ended up with white bread) and really missed not having the sauce!! We brunch here twice during our 6 day stay. We were sat quickly. The waitress the first day was pleasant, efficient and friendly. The male one the 3nd time was efficient. Not as friendly. I never go this far outta zone as I ordered the steak special but I was hungry and it sounded amazing. During a recent trip to Amelia Island, my friends and I decided to stop here for breakfast on our way back home. I had previously read a few reviews of how good the food and service was so we decided to try it out and must say I'm glad we did! Basic decor with no frills but plenty of simplicity. Our waitress came right after we sat down and had a bubbly spirit and huge smile. She took our drink orders and gave us time to look over the menu. Once she came back, she answered a few questions my friends had about the food and we placed our order. The food came out piping hot within 10 minutes, maybe less, and looked delicious. I opted for this breakfast scramble with eggs, cheese, ham, onions, peppers, and mushrooms in pita bread and decided on grits for the side. My meal was delicious and filling! The scramble had the right mix of veggies and ham and the grits were buttery and good. We asked to moved so we could have enough light to read the menu. (The strange thing was there was only one other person in the diner at 6:30a. Even on a weekday the diner was hoppin at 9am, super busy but we didn't have a wait find a party of three. Our server was prompt and friendly helping us navigate the large number of breakfast options. Bellies beware, the short stack pancakes are as big as a plate. You really don't need to order extras. The home fries are a large seasoned roast potato style. The syrup was kindly delivered in individual containers so you don't have to wonder which snotty kid or gross adult was slurping out of the ones on the table (I'm lookin at you house of pan-whatever). Oh man, kinda glad I don't live around AI because I'd be at this diner all the time! Breakfast food perfection!! We visited twice on our recent trip. The portions are huge and food quality is excellent. My breakfast sandwich was phenomenal, the avocado was perfectly ripe and complimented the eggs. The true star of the meal was the home fries, just perfectly crispy yet tender and seasoned so well! Such a simple item but says a lot about the restaurant's skill. Service was pretty good as it was busy both times we went but staff were hustling! We waited about 5 minutes for a table during peak breakfast times. After 4 days of camp food I was ready to be served good coffee and a nice hot breakfast! Beach Diner didn't disappoint. I had the Sunrise special with added onions, bell peppers and cheese, it was a lot of food and delicious. My server was on point and kept my coffee cup filled The restaurant has a beach decor so arriving in my shorts and flip flops fit right in. The space is open and airy and they have plexiglass to separate booths and distanced chairs at the eat in counter.
