Turkey Reuben sandwich with potato salad
    Evelyn G.

It was a beautiful day and we wanted to have brunch after spending the morning at the beach. The place was packed and had quite a line of customers waiting to be seated but we decided to wait. We were seated within maybe 20min after being 11th in line. The menu had a great selection of breakfast and lunch items that included pancakes, chicken and waffles, omelets, sandwiches and salads. Our server Selena was great-super friendly and attentive. She checked on us often enough just as our drinks got low and needed a refill. I had the turkey reuben sandwich with a side of potato salad and it hit the spot. I was looking for something something somewhat healthy and savory and tangy and the sandwich and salad satisfied. Although we did have quite a bit of wait for our food it was expected, especially with the number of customers out enjoying the beautiful day

Had the shrimp lunch special - which I recommend as Fernandina beach has an active shrimp fleet! So it will be fresh! Service was okay- we had to ask for utensils but the coffee was replenished without asking! It was clean and nicely decorated: police patches from around the world were proudly displayed - we added ours!

Great food, service and all around experience at this great diner. We both had omelettes which were huge. The sides were delicious and we left with happy tummies. Service was prompt with frequent coffee refills and check ins. Great value for the price.

When traveling to a new location, it's good to know where the locals eat for the best dining experience. This was the case the with The Beach Diner. There was a good crowd here for breakfast. The decor is bright blue, yellow, white. It's warm with pop culture beach themed art on the walls. Even though it was busy, our service was quick, pleasant and the food came out very quickly. The menu features many options from standard breakfast fare to healthy or upscale. I ordered the vegetable omelette. Very good. The vegetables were fresh and crunchy. The peppers still held a bit of a bite. There was cheese inside and out and the salsa worked well as a topping. The hash browns were good as well as the toast. The coffee was very good. Bold and fresh as well. Very good breakfast stop if you're in Fernandina Beach.

Great food and service. Clean, busy place, with great breakfast and lunch options. My wife got the Mediterranean Salad and added a fistful of shrimp for just $3! The salad had a great collection of mixed greens, fresh cucumber, OK tomatoes, and a zingy dressing. The shrimp were perfectly cooked and tasty. I got the Turkey Rueben (sometimes referred to as a Rachel). It was also excellent, with flavorful turkey, tasty bread, and a nice combo of dressing and kraut. Our server checked in appropriately, and they use the table side card reader to make that process efficient. Great stop for breakfast, lunch, or brunch.

We frequented this place for breakfast while staying in Fernandina Beach. It was always hopping for breakfast, but getting seated at the busiest times took usually a max of 15 minutes for 4 of us. As breakfast goes most everything was good. The Chicken Fried Chicken was a bit "chewy". The home fries are killer as was the huevos rancheros special!!!

I ordered take out and I was definately surprised that my Reuben was not as expected. The meat was dry, I had asked for Rye bread (ended up with white bread) and really missed not having the sauce!! The bread was hard and very dry - I am going to try it again because I have heard great things about Beach Diner.

After experiencing the Sunrise service on Easter, we stopped in here for breakfast. They were super busy but kept up with the demand. Food was quite tasty.

This the go to Diner in Fernandina Beach. This visit I decided to step out of my comfort zone and ordered from the daily specials. I never go this far outta zone as I ordered the steak special but I was hungry and it sounded amazing. The steak had grilled onions and peppers, sides of mashed potato and green beans with a cornbread square. It was freakin amazing. I tad bit fatty, but Cleo was with me and she loved it also. We are always treated so warmly when we visit here and I can say I have never had a bad meal here. Just scrumptious

The waitress was very friendly and professional, and seemed to enjoy her job. The restaurant I have to say was clean well organized, and had a very comforting ambience. Almost like a home like feeling. Listening to the team jovially talk to each other other made you feel that you were at home. I will start out talking about the broccoli salad, OMG, that was outstanding! Though the portion was on the smaller side, the flavor was rich! I had the two for two for two breakfast, which was the two eggs, two pancakes and two strips of turkey bacon. The pancakes ice would say we're very good and of course you can't go wrong when you do eggs correctly like they did. My aunt had some type of pancake that was made into the shape of a bowl and that was phenomenal. I wished I had gotten that. My uncle's egg white omelette was overfilled with fresh vegetables! It looked outstanding. Overall, I would definitely drive back for this restaurant

We even got there after their happy hour ended by a half hour, and without even asking, the front desk girl offered to get us a glass of wine, which we did do. And in contrast to another review, the red wine was good. Not top of the line, but definitely not gross. It was your average house wine from any upscale restaurant. The location was perfect for us. On the beach, easy access. They had beach chairs and umbrellas and beach towels if needed. The views from their deck are stellar. They also had enough parking. Also, there is an elevator from the parking area, so getting luggage to room is easy. Here's the only issue I had. When you book on their website, it clearly states what's included in your stay with your room. A few things listed are: breakfast, beach chairs/umbrellas, towels. HOWEVER, when I went to checkout and pay online, there is an 'AMENITY' fee! They describe this as a fee for the beach chairs and towels, etc. Please don't tell me it's included with the rental of my room, and then charge me for it at checkout. It now becomes NOT INCLUDED and I am in fact paying for it extra! I was really going between the 3 star review & the 4. I do not appreciate being deceived. I had spent a lot of time looking at where we wanted to stay, so at that point, I just went through with it and paid. Also, the only other confusing thing, is that I thought they had provided bfast there. They do have coffee (really good coffee btw). They also had pastries at bfast that they get from a local bakery. My husband had an apple danish type thing and he really enjoyed it. But they offer us a $30 voucher to one of two places in town for bfast. We chose the garden cafe. It was good. But of course you spend more than the $30 for basic bfast, oj & coffee. Would I go back? Most likely yes. Would I recommend to family & friends? Yes

We arrived at the Ritz too late for dinner anywhere but the lobby bar. Enjoyed several sushi rolls with drinks, each one imaginative fresh and tasty. But some event had recently let out and the lobby bar got crowded and LOUD. I mean over 100db loud (measured). That's the equivalent of enjoying sushi while jackhammers are crushing concrete all around you. Whoa! Ocean front one bedroom suite - Plush, large, comfortable. Curtains blocked most light, but the bright morning sun still peeked in around the edges. Comfortable bed and plenty cold for good sleeping. Two huge TVs. While the only premium feed provided is Netflix, the cable box had been lowered behind the TV in the living room such that it was simple to plug in your own device. If this is by design, kudos to the Ritz. If this was accidental, we feel very fortunate. Awesome to have a second half bath, wish that was an option at more hotels. The main bath, very roomy, with a huge dressing area, was a little odd in that, while there was a door to the toilet, there was no door to the tub/shower. Not a big deal, as it was around a corner providing a little privacy, it's still a weak design decision. Huge balcony with ocean front views that go on forever. A few chairs and a table, but a bit under furnished. Still quite a treat for the view, breeze and privacy. Never even slightly tempted to leave the property during our stay. Over a 4 night stay, we visited nearly every bar and restaurant option, and never felt like we were having to "make do". Pool - the kiddie pool was closed for renovations, so children took over the main pool all day. If you're not a tolerant direct parent, you're not gonna get in that water, if you know what I mean. Overall the pool and chairs were pretty crowded, so almost worth the premium to have rented a cabana for 8-2 one day. Lots more room and comfort, both lounge chairs and couch seating, TV, snacks and drinks.

In our experience, hotels usually designate "dog friendly" rooms that are often in undesirable locations of the hotel. We did not feel that way here. There were dogs everywhere! We were exhausted from a short night of sleep and delayed plane ride --just wanted to get to our room. We had to check on the status twice. Not what we expected!! The second person we talked to was very friendly and apologetic. They said they would comp us for the trouble by reducing the daily charge but I never saw this on my bill. This was disappointing. I was surprised they said they would do that so maybe they tried but weren't allowed. Who knows! The rooms were fine - nothing fancy and a bit outdated. Everything was very clean tho. And the beds were very comfortable. We enjoyed the nice coffee station and fire table on our patio. The restaurants they have are pretty good. We really enjoyed getting room service - much easier with our pup. We stopped by the gym to fill up our water bottles and they have a great water station and fruit bowls. All of the staff we interacted with were lovely and friendly. They were happy to give us tips about the area and recommendations too. The location is unbeatable- right on the beach. We enjoyed morning walks to see the sunrise. And it's close to Fernandina Beach which was such a charming area. We would def stay here again!!!!
