I had booked an appointment for my two dogs to get bathed and cleaned up. When I arrived the facility was locked with a sign stating they were closed until April 24th. Gave them a call no one answered. Finally a lady walked out and I went in to drop them off. When I think of paying 30 dollars each dog. You'd think they would be brushed or something to help shedding. Nope I had to go to my pet store and spend another 30 dollars or grooming tools to brush them because they had fur flying off left and right. I spent 60 dollars in total for both dogs and I don't think I will be coming back unfortunately. read more

This is the BEST doggy daycare place in Camarillo! The owner, Melissa, Is sweet and caring and loves those dogs! She has excellent people working with her as well. Two things in particular are unusually outstanding in Beach Dog Fun. 1. They have video cameras. You can watch your dog play at BDF while you are at work, or at lunch with a friend, on your computer or iPad anytime you wish. Though common in Orange County, where I lived before moving to VC, this is unusual in Ventura County. 2. This place is immaculately clean. No dog smell, no poop or pee smell. Also, no bleach or strong chemical smell. 3. Overnight "boarding" is a bargain and the dogs go home with the owners at night. My dog PULLS at the leash to get in there! My puppy, Tuesday, LOVES THIS PLACE!! I just adopted her about a week ago and I wanted to make sure that she was socialized early on so I brought her here. She is always very timid around new people and dogs so I was a bit nervous bringing her in at first. After coming back only an hour later, she was running around with the other dogs having a great time and rubbing up on everyone working there (little schmoozer). Love this place! It really shows that the staff care about the dogs. I also appreciate the fact that they cater to small dogs. My Pom is a bit fragile and can get hurt with even rough play with a large dog. I was worried about leaving her and Melissa was great and even texted me updates with pics. I also love that I can check in on her via the video camera app. Plus my groomer is two doors away so I can drop her off and get her groomed all in the same day! Incredible Personal Concern for Individual Need. We had a Funeral for my 93 yr old Mom to coordinate, attend and orchestrate. That, along w/ the included, viewing, services and reception after the burial required me to be gone the entire day and maybe not back by Beach Dog Fun closing time. Melissa assured us that if we weren't back she would take our Yellow Labrador - "CREW" - to her home and we could pick her up later. My dog fell ill and Melissa and her staff volunteered to take care of him each day and give him his meds while I was at work. They went above and beyond to care for him and I am forever grateful! During the Thomas Fires Melissa went as far as to offer assistance to pet owners affected by the fires and provide shelter and daycare free of cost. This place is nothing short of amazing. Melissa (the owner) is simply awesome. They take such great care of the dogs here and are very attentive to the needs of each one of their customers. They even provide a report card at the end of the day which keeps you informed about your pet's experience each day - how amazing is that!! One time my dog was not feeling too well but I had no choice but to take him to daycare anyways. When his condition did not improve during the day, Melissa was kind enough to take him to the vet on my behalf, stayed with him the entire time there until I was able to come pick him up. I cannot say enough about this place. Our three girls had never been to doggy daycare before, and they tend to not be too great with other dogs. The first time we brought them in, they came home exhausted and happy, and Violet thought that every time we tried to leave the house after that that she was going to go back to play with her new friends. When we pull into the parking lot, they fight to get out of the car first. I love the fact that you can watch them on Web cam during the day (though they are always just having fun when we check in on them!). All the ladies treat the dogs like their own. They had their first overnight last weekend, and they loved it! In fact they didn't seem that excited to be home! We are on our way to pick them up from a 3-night stay right now. I am so confident leaving my babies with these wonderful folks! My girls are in great hands, and they're happy, which makes me happy. I'd highly recommend Beach Dog! read more

I am disabled with s myriad of medical issues and the owners helped me... but then just when I needed them the most the betrayed me in a horrible way. Melissa the owner PROMISED me if I ever couldn't care for them she would take them. However, when I discussed with her the need to do this because I could not provide proper care anymore. All of a sudden when I came to discuss with her, no one would tell me where she was or when she'd be back. She also greatly increased my overnight charge without telling me she was going to. So I texted heron a Thursday... she didn't bother to answer until Sunday saying "I'm. Where is all this coming from?" As if we never discussed it.
