I have been wanting to stop by here for some time now. Donuts are my absolute favorite! It's only about 20 mins from Hammonasset beach so I grabbed a half dozen before heading to the beach for the day. They had a wide variety even for being later in the morning. Lemon, strawberry frosted with sprinkles, and chocolate glazed were a few I chose. They also had giant apple fritters and cinnamon buns! I got the apple fritter and it was delicious! The pieces of apple were my favorite part. The inside is old school with tables and chairs for seating.

Came across this donut shop on Yelp while in town. They had a great selection, friendly service, little hole on the wall place, which was cozy, and decently priced: $22/dozen. Unfortunately, the young girl miscounted and only gave me 11 donuts. She said their most popular is the sour donut which I did try, and it was tasty. I did also get the lemon filled, original cinnamon, jelly filled, glazed,... I only tried one, but everyone seemed to enjoy all the flavors.

I try to visit a CT donut shop if serious CT donut fans or experts rate it highly. Although it's 45 minutes from home, Beach Donuts has been on my radar as such a place. It has an old school vibe. Nothing wrong with the looks, but atmosphere and branding are not selling points. It doesn't have to be in a beach area. People will flock to spots with good food. I ordered a half dozen donuts. Service was fine, but not something that stood out. I had to ask the person helping me not to put another donut against the chocolate icing of a Boston Cream. Never met a Boston Cream fan who likes smudged icing. LOL I tried two donuts. Beach makes my favorite donut that my favorite donut shop makes -- the long glazed cruller. It was very good. Good crisp outer texture. Fresh inner texture. The glaze adhered to the donut well. The color was darker than I'm used to for a non-chocolate cruller. I'm not sure what causes the different color, but the taste was right on. I also tried a Crumb Donut, which is somewhat similar to a Buttercrunch that some places serve. It was fresh and tasty. A well executed donut. For what it's worth, I asked my 11 year old how he liked his Boston Cream and he said it was about average. My wife thought her glazed cruller was "almost" as good as her favorite place. Beach Donut is a very good donut shop. I get why people rate it so highly. Especially if you have fond memories from visiting during area beach trips. I've come to believe that it's hard to be completely objective about scoring certain well loved kinds of businesses such as donut shops, because you have a strong sense of loyalty to your favorite donut shop. I'll give it my best shot though. Beach Donut is much better than a national franchise type place, but it's a half step off my favorite CT donut shop and other donut shops I put in the top tier. One of the most important parts of a donut shop visit, is the sense of shock and awe you experience at first seeing the number of donuts, different types of donuts and the aesthetics of the donuts in the case. I didn't feel that sense of shock and awe when I saw Beach's donut case. They had fewer donut types than my favorite place. The donuts I saw looked fairly standard in terms of type and most of them didn't pop visually. It seems like Beach executes the donuts they make at a fairly high level, but for me, Beach doesn't quite rise to the level of my favorite CT donut shops. 4.25 Stars

Probably the best glazed donuts in a LONG time!! They were super soft and comfy! The glaze wasn't overly sweet, and it had the right amount. The flavor and texture of their glazed donuts reminds me of a mom & pop bakery back home in Hawaii, that I grew up with. We will most definitely be back! Pairs well with a nice espresso for dunking!

Super cute local shop where all the donuts are made with love. They have coffee, donut, and breakfast options. All their donuts are fantastic and there are so many different flavors. The apple fritter was unreal and the size of my head. The fruity pebbles was melt in your mouth and the cereal on top gave it an excellent crunch that was awesome. Very reasonably priced as well.

On my way to the Clinton Outlets, I stopped by the Beach Donut Shop, for a little sweet fix. While I'm typically not into donuts, I'll occasionally try one from an independent maker. This donut shop isn't particularly flashy, and the space could use a bit of renovational work. As I approached the front counter to place my order, there was a plethora of donuts right on the counter. The lady working here, told me what each of the flavors was. These are substantial donuts, bigger than the average. I went with double chocolate. I also got a hot coffee. These two things cost me $4.00 together, what a bargain! I sat down and enjoyed this delightful rich chocolate goodness. It wasn't overly sweet or crumbly. It was pretty perfect. The coffee was also solid. It was dark roast, hot and delicious! It's a good thing this place is an hour away, I would probably be going here too often. If you are in the area, or are passing by I encourage you to try these delicious donuts, they are divine!

I ordered a little piggy croissant and it was so good. I like the options on the type of bread to use. I took a dozen donuts to work. And every one thought they were so delicious. It can be pricey, but they are so good. I went right when they opened for breakfast so I got quick service and they gave me the fresher donuts. It's definitely a good little spot that feels like a small cafe.

I couldn't speak more highly of a donut shop. Beach Donuts is fricken AMAZING! They have both cake and yeast donuts and so many different kinds it's hard to choose just 12! (Which is why I usually end up walking out with 1 1/2 dozen haha) Unlike most homemade donuts shops in the area, they keep making donuts much later, my 4 year old and I just went at 11:30 on a Tuesday and they still had every single kind we wanted...and then some! Red velvet was a nice surprise. They maple bacon and maple frosted are to die for, and the sour cream, muuuah so so SO so good. I like the originals and all the funky ones too, my son's favorite is the fruity pebbles, not going to lie, I love it too! He asked for Donuts on his birthday and was SO excited to go to his favorite donut shop. The owner and the staff are SO friendly, I just love them. They are always so sweet to my son and hand him an extra donut or rainbow bagel or juice box, we have been Beach fans for as long as I can remember and this is our (ALWAYS) go to for donuts, I won't waste calories on anything other than Beach. I really just can't say enough about the staff, I'm not sure of the man's name who almost always takes care of us when we are there (I'm not sure how I haven't gotten his name yet!) He is so sweet and so kind, we need more people like him in this world, The owner is funny and loud and tells me how much he appreciates our business. In a time when small businesses are closing, I am so grateful for businesses and staff like them, and am so happy that they made it through the pandemic and still flourish, and surely always will. My family has a family business we have had since 1978 and we love and appreciate all our loyal customers, old and new. Thank you to everyone who is part of beach donuts, we love you all and are so grateful to have such an amazing place with amazing people AND to-die-for donuts just 15 minutes away! Remember to toss them a $5 (or more) in the tip jar, with small businesses, the tips are greatly appreciated and here they are ESPECIALLY deserved. Thank you again Beach, you have been a tradition for me and my son for 4 years since he was born, and myself for several decades. We love you and will forever be your loyal fans!

I finally was able to visit their store and I was very impressed by the selection available since it was after the morning rush. I got a Bagel Melt on my favorite Cheddar Cheese Bagel. This was so cheesy! It had chive cream cheese, cheddar cheese, tomato, and raw onion. The sandwich was very messy. I also got an Iced Chai Tea Latte that was pretty good. I like their bagels because of the variety of flavors, there are chewy, perfectly sized,!and easy to eat. The staff were very friendly and my order came out quick. He was very friendly, and told me about some of the products. The Whoopi Pies looked very tempting. I decided to go with the cookie/brownie combo. It has a proper name, but it's escaping me right now. This is a brownie on the bottom and a cookie on the top. Oh I couldn't wait to dig in! This was just under $6.00. The cookie is soft with chocolate bits, under it is more chocolate goodness with the brownie layer! Yum! I sat in my car and enjoyed each bite!
