This place was a freaking joke ! My son and his girlfriend decided that they wanted barbecue for dinner. I didn't really care but I was more in the mood for a hotdog but I said OK that's what they want then that's what we'll get. We had to take an Uber for like over $20 just to get to this place And when we get in there, it wasn't what any of us expected [[HIGHLIGHT]]first of all it was kinda, not nice looking in there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I don't know how to put it. They had a big chalkboard up, saying all the things that they have and everything was so expensive. So we all decided what we wanted we all wanted a brisket sandwich and maybe aside to go with it and a pop or water. We go to place our orders and the guy in the back says that they have no sandwiches. That number one was ridiculous. So then we went to order this big family thing. I can't remember what it was called but a big order of a lot of stuff and they said we're out of the chicken and out of macaroni and cheese after they told us that they have all the sides. So my son ended up ordering just 1 pound of brisket for all of us to share and then somehow they came up with one big container of macaroni and cheese, even though they just said a few minutes before that they did not have any. For 1 pound of brisket and one cup of macaroni and cheese, it was $70. The brisket was good, but it had a lot of fat on it. The majority of the meat was fat. And all each of us got was about one and a half slices of brisket and myself only got one spoonful of macaroni and cheese and that was my dinner. Each of us only got about 1 1/2 to 2 slices of brisket and my son Jeremy ate the majority of the macaroni and cheese and let me tell you that was not good. The macaroni and cheese was disgusting. It was gritty tasting and just gross I will never go back there again and anybody who decides to go there to eat be prepared for just strange customer service and food. Plus they have no plates or anything they give you a tray with some brisket on it and one cup of aside and you're all supposed to just share it and they only had one fork for us so we all had to use a spoon to eat brisket with and share everything with no plates or anything it was it was a ridiculous experience. We were also frustrated and pissed off. $70 for a miserable dinner that couldn't fill up a baby. The employees there were just a joke too. They weren't making anything clear, they said that they couldn't do the whole big family dinner thing because there was no chicken and maybe one other thing but there's no reason why they couldn't have just replaced it with something else. Plus when my son said about the pound brisket and then somebody else said, did you want your ribs and he was just like what he had no idea what they were talking about. They just were not clear about anything that was going on there. It's like they're making a joke out of us or something because we didn't know what was going on because we weren't regulars there. They knew we were from Buffalo because the owner of the anchor bar was in there picking up a bunch of food at the same time. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Anyway, so this was very bad service, not a very clean nice place to eat, and there was no food there pretty much so the whole thing was just a joke.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Two thumbs down !!

Came for some barbecue. With all the great reviews I have to see for myself what this place was all about. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking in it was a little quiet and I wasn't sure if this was a sit-down or casual[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . found some guys working on an order. They were super helpful and help me make some choices. Having the brisket was really good. It was very soft and it had some great flavor. The barbecue sauce went very well with it and was not overly needed as the brisket had some good flavor. I also had some burnt ends which were excellent and I highly recommend it if you have the chance. I definitely would make note as one of the better spots in Toronto.

Great place in the Upper Beaches. Very clean and spacious. Surprisingly wasnt super busy when we visited at 6pm on a Friday. Service was quick and friendly. And now the food.. THE FOOD! Delicious and tendre cuts of meat. We had the pork belly a d beef brisket with a side of mac n cheese and corn bread. So yummy!

Video of moldy food. Shows bad ribs and bread

Place is going viral for moldy food. Please do not eat here. Terrible quality and the opposite of fresh.

Would've never imagined eating Ribs in a vehicle, but desperate times call for desperate measures! Ordered some trays to use in my SUV, and Voila - Fine dining curb-side! If you don't live close enough to take it home, Beach Hill is not overly messy and can be eaten outside. Lots of street parking at the moment. It's nicely packed, and they have ample napkins inside. Everyone was following health guidelines and service was quick as usual. Definitely recommend the Mac n Cheese & Peach Cobbler. Yeah, it's a bbq place but I'm not a big meat eater. Not shown: 1/2 Chicken - it was HUGE...and delish

Pork ribs, brisket, smoked turkey and sausage

Having heard good things about this place, we got their combo for takeout. Always looking for some good bbq in Toronto. Brisket: Amazing smoke flavor. I think I got a leaner cut. Still moist and delicious but would have been perfect with just a tad less dry. Still really good - 4.5/5. Pork ribs - love the monstrous size of these ribs. Has a good coating of spices/rub with a peppery kick. Not fall off the bone but still good. 4/5 Smoked turkey - this was a bit on the dry side but not bad for smoked turkey. Always tricky to get turkey breast moist. Not my favorite but that might be personal choice - 3/5. Sausage - good Smokey flavor, not overly salty. Has quite a peppery kick. I liked it but felt one note after a while with just pepper taking over. 3/5. Potato salad - creamy, chunks of potatoes and other veges. Can't complain - 4.5/5. Coleslaw - fresh, crisp veges. Also a surprising pepper kick to this as well. I liked it but not sure if the pepper is coleslaw is for all. 4/5. Baked beans - soft with a hint of sweetness. Goes well with all the meats. 3.5/5

Brisket sw, split pea & ham soup, corn bread. Peach cobbler. Yum

Heard so many good things about this place but just did not have a chance to visit. Then yesterday I was looking for something to do yesterday and found out they were celebrating two years anniversaries. Everything I tried was just solid gooood!! Complementary brisket sandwich for the first 100 customers- Brisket was solid but wished bun was warm or toasred. Split pea and ham soup($4) was perfect for rainy day in winter. Stuffeed jalapeno with brisket, saussage & cream cheese($4) was a flavour bomb!! Corn bread($3) was very very moist and was almost falling apart. Peach cobbler($4) was not your typical pretty cobbler but you should try it. . Dry Pork ribs were sold by LB ($12) and paid about $20. Loved that they did not smother ribs with bbq sauce. It was great as us with rubs. Ordered two saussages($10 ea) They were very tasty and could not stop eating even though my stomach already had no room to take., Potato salad($4) was ammaazzing!! Liked the idea they added kale !! Service was beyond friendly. That explained why they have so many regulars to come in to celebrate their birthday. Will certainly go back for smoked turkey and The Irish Texan.

Hands down one of the best bbqs I ever had in my life even better than adamson bbq, a little pricey we got half a pound brisket and half a pound turkey with bbq sauce on the side, one negative the place was dirty there were a lot of flies so definitely they should work on their cleanliness, but let's start with the bbq, the brisket oh my god so tender and smoky, the meat just pulls apart perfectly cooked, I felt like I was in heaven, and the turkey juicy moist had a Smokey flavour but the prize money was the brisket, it just falls apart, one suggestion they should it by the pound cuz half a pound won't even fill up a toddler, but overall well done on the bbq they know what they're doing that's for sure, honestly it doesn't need bbq sauce but they give bbq sauce complimentary when you order

This is a gem and an unexpected treat. The service was marvelous. When we saw this place, it seemed small. When we walked inside, there was amble space with a comfortable setting. We had a party of 7. They quickly accommodated us. We were presented with the menu and tried to decide on the best bbq options. This smokehouse was actually phenomenal. The waitresses were extremely polite and professional. Terria made sure we all had what we needed. She even told the owner how much she enjoyed our group that the chef and owner gave us a free Ribeye to show their appreciation. I ordered a indecisive sampler. It was created for me. I promise. 3 baby back ribs that would fall off the bone to the touch. The brisket was tasty but the sauce wasn't my favorite. The pulled pork was absolutely the best I've tasted. I ordered a slider bun to make it into a sandwich. The smoked sausage did not disappoint. The steak that was complementary was moist and tasty as well. If you visit Toronto, you need to stop here. This place is truly amazing.

More than half pound of ribs (4 pieces), more than half pound of brisket, small size Cole slaw, beans and potato salad - $70 with tax.

I lived in Houston for over 7 years through grad school and have had Texas bbq in midland, Austin, Dallas, Houston etc. I really wanted to find a good Texas bbq joint ever since coming home to toronto. I had really wanted to love this place. I have tried many restaurants in toronto and never seemed to find the taste I had down south. Anyways, so my standards are not that high. However, the experience I had was not fantastic. We visited Beach Hill Danforth location during lunchtime last Saturday. There were no other guests there. Pricy- for 2 people, we paid $70 for our lunch which was served in paper and take out containers. I understand that meat in toronto costs a lot but it's still a bit much. Would prefer having an option on the menu where a plate combo was served that comes with a meat and two sides. Bbq joints in Texas serve meat on a paper wrap for you to take home but lots of bbq joints do serve a glorious large plate that can feed a Texas sized appetite. Maybe a Texan size plate for $20-24 and a small plate for $16-20. Ribs- 1/2 pound gets you about 3 pieces of ribs- for $14.50, no sides, tasty, Smokey meat. Very peppery. Brisket- 1/2 pound comes to about 4 slices, no sides very moist, juicy meat, delicious! Sides- the small sides are quite generous for one person. Tastes very herby and interesting. Both meats need some bbq sauce on the side for dipping or it's a bit dry.

So tender and juicy!

I was entertaining a friend from Vancouver and we were looking for something different (for him) to try. Looking through Yelp, a five star BBQ place grabbed our attention. Hello! Beach Hill Smokehouse is located in the Upper Beach area, not somewhere known for a lot of restaurants, muchless good food. Walking in, there were a few picnic tables for dining and what looks like a bar still under construction. Walking towardss the back of the restaurant, through a narrow passageway, revealed more picnic tables, an open kitchen and the counter where orders are placed and picked up. There was a short line ahead of us, giving us time to look over the menu. Their meats are priced and sold by the half pound. They offer a few sandwiches, basic sides, and some desserts. The fellow ahead of us got a juicy looking beef rib so we had to have one too. It looked so good! We also ordered half a pound of pork ribs, half a chicken, a small potato salad, and a large coleslaw. Yes we were pigs. I don't know how much the beef rib weighed but the total bill was $66 with tax and tip. Everything was served on a tray, no plates, and only plastic utensils and lots of paper towels available. Rustic. Nothing wrong with that. The beef rib was the most distinctive thing on the tray, looking like a lump of black coal with a bone going through it. BBQ lovers know that as the bark (think tree bark) and all the goodness is just below it. No disappointment here. The meat was so tender and juicy with a nice smokey flavour. A plastic fork or fingers were just fine to pull it apart. Excellent! The pork ribs had just the right amount of resistance to come off the bone. Delicious! We should have ordered more. The chicken, although good, paled in comparison to the beef and pork. If you like chicken, order it. I'll stick with the beef and pork ribs. Their house BBQ sauce, neither sweet nor tangy, worked well with all the meats. That beef rib must have been bigger than we thought. I ended up taking home some of the beef and a quarter chicken. That's what you get when you order with your eyes. It was just as good a couple of days later. We learned a few things while waiting in line and ordering. This place has been open since January, 2018 and they're serving Central Texas style BBQ where it's mostly about the smoke. It's run by two Americans, one from Buffalo and the other from Texas, so I guess that makes it authentic. It's been a few days since my friend returned to Vancouver and he's been texting me every day about this food. Yes, it was that good. Try it.

Each of Lambo's Deli locations also have a special sandwich, where this time when I went, it was the crispy chicken club. They also have soft serve as well (rotating flavours!). I stopped by Lambo's Deli on a Monday morning before the lunch rush and opted to grab: - Italian trio sandwich (soppressata, mortadella, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella, roasted red peppers, picked red onion, arugula, pesto, Calabrian chili spread) - $18 - Soft serve (flavour was hojicha) -$5 Service was friendly and I received my soft serve while waiting for my sandwich to be prepared. It took about 5 min and it was nicely packed. Staff were great and handed me a handful of napkins as well. I ate my sandwich an hour later and before opening the packaging, the sandwich was pretty heavy! Looking at a cross section of the sandwich, it was packed with ingredients! The Italian Trio sandwich was delicious. The roasted red peppers, pickled red onion, arugula, and Calabrian chili spread added freshness to the sandwich which didn't make it feel so heavy with all the deli meats inside as well as the mozzarella cheese. The sandwiches are big and I could only finish half for lunch. Overall, a delicious sandwich shop in Leslieville. Lambo's Deli definitely packs a lot of ingredients in their sandwiches which make for a tasty meal. Be warned, the sandwiches are huge! Also...don't miss out on their soft serve too!

You can really feel the care and personality behind the space, which added so much to the overall visit. We tried a variety of items, but the Pizza Caesar Wrap was easily the standout and our favourite thing we ate. Crispy, cheesy, messy in the best way, and packed with flavour. Even better, $3 from every wrap goes toward supporting Daily Bread Food Bank through their $30,000 fundraising campaign, which made ordering it feel even more worthwhile. We also really enjoyed the Spicy Ham & Cheese, which had the perfect balance of spicy, creamy, salty, and savoury flavours. The Gourmet French Hot Dog was another highlight with its sweet and savoury flavour combination wrapped in a buttery, flaky croissant. The Four Seasons sandwiches were a fun concept inspired by the Blue Jays, and while the Chef's Choice wasn't our personal favourite, some people at our table enjoyed it more than we did. For dessert, all of the cookies were freshly baked in-house and surprisingly good for a grab-and-go style spot. The double chocolate chip was rich and soft, and the white chocolate cranberry and macadamia cookies were both solid classics. The iced matcha latte with oat milk paired especially well with them, and the iced vanilla latte was smooth and easy to drink. The space itself is bright and open with big windows that bring in lots of natural light during the day. Seating is cozy, but the layout still feels spacious and comfortable overall. Overall, a playful comfort food spot that offers catering with genuinely friendly service, creative menu items, and a welcoming atmosphere that makes you want to come back.
