Recently reopened and renovated. Crazy you find a scenic restaurant in Decatur. Oysters and lobster bisque for starters. Oysters were good size but nothing special your typical cocktail sauce. Lobster bisque great flavor but lobster pieces that was in was bit over done for my taste but overall I enjoyed. I got a perfectly Pittsburgh filet with flavorful collard greens. The truffle fries weren't very crisp or have much truffle which is usually overpowered. My husband was happy with his lamb chops. The Gouda Mac was very saucy and tasty and the sage glazed carrots were so good but not all similar size so the larger pieces weren't tender. I wish we had got dessert cause every time they walked by the portions were HUGE enough to share. Will return to hopefully sit outside! read more

I had lunch there (Beach House) with a couple friends today.. Shrimp tacos.. They were excellent, fried to delicate crisp perfection.. The sauce was a perfect complement and just the right amount.. 3 big fat tacos not miserly little servings.. I had the potato slivers on the side, perfectly seasoned, not salted to heart attack proportions and not greasy or over fried! They understand that you can always add salt.. And they listen.. Last time I was there a man who I assume was the owner asked if I had any suggestions, I said lets understand this isn't a complaint because everything was excellent but perhaps some sauce or something to dip the potatoes.. I had an initial conversation with the waitress, about selecting the "safest" thing on the menu because I can't tolerate spicy. Finally settled on the chef's special, whitefish with a cream sauce. It came out completely black, smothered with spices. That, combined with the waitresses (inside the dining room) in yoga shorts, bare concrete floors that look like they just pulled the carpeting up, and sangria that tasted like orange juice with a 'splash' of wine...left us wondering why we picked this for my husband's birthday. Not even close for their fine dining prices. He said he wished the waitress would bring the check, because he couldn't wait to get out of the very uncomfortable, wobbly chair. We're done. read more

My order of jambalaya was great and more than I could eat. My son's steak was ok and wife's chicken was very good. Portions were large. The waitress was very helpful with picking out our choices. We typically come here for dinner. I would highly recommend a reservation since they get busy, especially on weekends. Their soft rolls and butter... yassss! I have to remind myself not to eat more than one. So good when they're hot and fresh. We've tried the Oysters Rockefeller, Calamari, Spinach Artichoke dip, Bayou sandwich, Chilean Sea Bass, Crab legs. They used to have a chicken on a pita sandwich and a yummy pasta dish with asparagus, but those are no longer on the menu as of March 2017. The food is generally good; however, we were not impressed with the crab legs that were offered as a special... guess we should've known better. Bayou sandwich was really salty. Service can be hit or miss. There's one waitress who is an absolute rockstar; I wish I could remember her name. Another time, the waitress must've been new and hadn't gotten the hang of things yet. Celebrated the bf's bday there, and they let us bring in a cake. The rockstar waitress brought it to the table after dinner with candles they provided. She also cut and served the cake which was nice. I haven't been on the patio since it was renovated, so I'm looking forward to trying it this summer. read more
