If you are ever need a catering service, Beach Hut Deli delivered superb service (thank you, Matt!), gorgeous sandwiches, perfectly ready avocados all sliced and ready to be served onto sandwiches, and he did not forget utensils or napkins. Beach Hut does an amazing job. Please consider them for helping out for your next event. While helping at a memorial service, Beach Hut Deli catered our lunch. We had 10 strong and sturdy boxes of different sandwiches delivered my Matt. Each box contained 5 large sandwiches. All boxes contained a turkey, roast beef, ham, a mix, and veggie sandwiches. Each sandwich was loaded up and looked perfect. Even after Matt drive here, they looked like they were just made and presented right in front of you. He even brought a full clam shell box of sliced avocado and pepperchini's on the side. Along with forks and napkins. Those avocado slices were perfect and ready to eat. Will not be back to this location! We LOVE our Beach Huts but we've finally had it with this disgusting location on 49. Not sure what kind of business is actually happening here or if the owner of this location is even aware? We've been in when Matt is working and it seems to run smooth. With that said, maybe take a closer look at who you have representing your shop. It's decided for us since this visit, we are over having your unsanitary, trashy employees making sandwiches for us. When looking over the "Specials" board, there was a sign, prominently displayed, "Surfer Dude" sandwich - $4.75. I went to the counter and ordered 2 of them and was charged $13.50. I asked how two $4.75 sandwiches cost $13.50. The cashier didn't know what I was talking about. I walked him to the sign and he said he didn't know about it and the sign "must be old because the cost of food has gone up". He then said, "I better take this down" and removed the sign. Long story short, they didn't honor the advertised price. Additionally, the store seems worn and in need of refreshing. the soda machine has two post-it notes indicating "Out of order". First, let me say we have been to a Beach Hut before and it was the most awesome experience. These restaurants offer a great atmosphere and entertainment. The food was great too. My family and I wanted something different on Sunday afternoon and we had not visited the BHD in Auburn....What a mistake that was! The dining area floors were dirty and I could've forgiven that, but the service was horrible! The lady who took our order was not very pleasant and seemed annoyed and there was another employee that squeezed his way in front of my husband as he was reading the menu- There was no excuse me or sorry or anything. When we got our food here again my husband said thank you and the girl walked away not saying a word and the food was okay. I wished we would've stayed home I could've done way better. Headed here after a long hike outside of Auburn. The place was empty on a Sunday at 3:30pm, which was actually great, in our opinion. Service was quick and (mostly) accurate, although they left pepperocinis on my husband's sando, when we requested them to be removed. Not long ago, I found myself on a "holiday excursion to the lake" and found myself in dire, desperate, unyielding need for a sandwich. I'm always looking for the greatest ham on rye in the state, so I thought that one such beach hut region of yours, Beach Hut Deli, might be what I needed. It's almost time for Valentine's Day, and being the suave ladies' man that I am, I also... Apologies, I started this review two hours ago, but I was distracted by the sound of a laugh and stopped writing. Having spent the afternoon on the beachy region thing at the lake studying the behavior of squirrels - only one flock went by, but it deeply caught my interest - I found my way towards my CMA Camaro Dodgson (the name of my blue 2014 Subaru BRZ) and accelerated the ever-living dickens out of it until I was practically hydroplaning off the mountain road. It's worth noting here at this point that I was at the general sort of beach area by myself with my boom box, playing some Janet Jackson so as to broaden the musical horizons of potential overhearers with the sweet music of my future sister-in-law (one day, I will marry LaToya, mark my PHD-credentialed words). While on the beach, I had called in an order from Beach Hut Deli for a ham on rye sandwich, so this is where I was heading so as to pick it up from Beach Hut Deli, the one that I am reviewing presently. As I ordered, I observed a woman of semi-average height, more or less, nodding her head along to Janet Jackson's sweet melodies. I hung up the telephone and sauntered up to her. "Hey there, did you know that the word 'squirrel' was first attested in 1327? Dr. Marris Dare." She seemed mildly interested, so I invited her to take a ride with me and get a sandwich. We peeled out of the general parking region, OneRepublic playing on my auditory system so as to broaden her musical horizon, and I bought her a tuna on wheat sandwich at Beach Hut Deli, which I called in as we drove so as to maximize time. I'm a very busy man with women to date and rodents to study, as has been well documented by others and by my extensive memoirs I struggle to compose. I pushed the doors aside when we entered and said "I believe you have an order for me, Dr. Marris Dare," to the woman at the counter, "and may I just take this moment to say that squirrels have vibrissae on their limbs and face?" She smiled and said "Your order is right here, sir, let me ring you up." I allowed this, slipped her a business card with a prepared written statement to the effect of "Many squirrels often expire before one year of age" inscribed on the front. Let me just take a moment to say that I am beyond appalled at the mere concept of all other sandwich places after stepping foot into this sorry excuse for a subpar eatery. By all means, please go on being this superb. I am floored, thoroughly, genuinely, and truly, by how exceedingly supreme the sandwiches I consumed here with my newfound lady date. I saved her number but I do not fully remember the structure of her name, likely something in the vein of Casey Mallow Talon. I deposited Casey Mallow Talon back where she was on the beach region prior to our not-unsightly excursion to Beach Hut Deli, told her she'd be hearing from me, and returned to where I was a few feet over on the beach region. After another 20 minutes of observation, I decided the squirrels would likely return if I bought more sandwiches, so I called your Beach Hut Deli again. "Hello, Beach Hut Deli? This is Dr. Marris Dare once again. How many sandwiches could you offer me for $14? I am running short on cash on hand, but there are squirrels who need to be fed, I presume. Please be mindful of the fact that they cannot digest cellulose." The woman, the one I had interacted with earlier, someone named I think Tracy (Side note: What kind of parent names their child something so beautiful without filing for a world record for beautiful names? Tracy, your parents are godsends), cut our phone call short. I decided to leave for squirrellier pastures and departed the beach region for the day. To make a long story concisely confined to the constraints of one sentence, thank you, Beach Hut Deli. Way to go Beach Hut. Had you cater a funeral. Where do I start? Showed up late and called the grieving daughter out of the service to handle food delivery. Brought crappy sandwiches that are no where near the Beach Hut quality that we would expect. Then we look at the salads. Obviously made the day before. The avocado was brown. Bacon was soggy. It was gross. After leaving, you then decided to call and text the daughter asking for gratuity that you didn't include in the original bill. During the funeral!!! No respect and no excuse. You add to the bill or accept what you are given. You do not harass the grieving asking for a tip when you delivered day old food late to a funeral. I am sad that you think this is acceptable and I promise to never be a patron of your business again because it appals me that you feel this is ok. My favorite place for a sandwich! Fresh ingredients and they don't skimp! For example when you order avocado on a sandwich you get the whole real live avocado on your sandwich. Just went yesterday and ordered my favorite sandwich, a Monterrey on garlic sourdough add bacon. The girls misplaced my order and it took a while for them to make it. I wasn't in a hurry and didn't mind. But one of the girls, I'm assuming was the manager wanted to make it right. She refunded my money and was very apologetic. Today I was going to try this place for the first time. The tables outside were not clean and the floor inside didn't look horrible but not good either. We were reading the menu and within minutes a young man behind the counter dropped the F word 3 times. If he's that unprofessional you have to wonder if he follows any safety protocols with food. I love the food at Beach Hut, but it's a chain so no stars for that and this is all based on my experience. This was the MOST unwelcome I have ever felt in a restaurant. Placed a phone order and walked to the counter, and the manager on duty was laying into one of his employees about how much money everyone cost him that day when she was just trying to clock out. Awkward. Then I went to grab chips off their little chip rack, saw that it was a little barren, and inquired offhand about them being out of a flavor. To which he replied "You have to turn it." In a not super friendly tone. Not a huge deal on its own, I get it. But not once was there a "Hey, how's it going, good afternoon, thanks for coming in!" As a customer I do NOT need to be aware of your day's financial troubles or see you being rude to staff. Maybe you were joking, but it didn't come off that way. Cherry on top was the simple task of getting a drink, complicated by the fact that they were out of the first four things I tried. Just enough left in each to leave a nice little bit of watered down crap in the bottom. When I turned to the counter to get another cup, an EMPLOYEE in an apron turned and cut in front of me to serve herself a beverage without so much as a word.
