Super lunch spot! The sandwiches are giant! I could not eat it without a serious smmashhh down! The girls were super nice. The ice maker was out so they let us have our fountain drinks in cold beer glasses. This is a local hot spot. There are a ton of tv's for sports, a really beachy vibe and vacation music playing to really set the mood. I noticed a lot of local events happen here from the fliers in the windows. They have a sign that says, " Have your fundraiser here!" I think this little sandwich shop has a big heart for the neighborhood. It makes me feel good to spend my money here. Food prices were decent, variety was good - large menu. Nice outside tables, and looks like a good beer selection. Here's the deal, no matter how nice the food, the location, and the drinks, it all becomes a bummer with the help a restaurant hires. Not sure what kind of burr was in her saddle but she had a very unwelcome attitude. We would have walked out if we weren't with friends. Everything becomes bad with poor help. Friendly and quick service! Fresh ingredients, and good portions. A little on the higher priced end but you pay for quality. Woody- very good, the fresh cheese was great. The only complaint here is the ratio of bread to filling. Way too much bread compared to meat and veggies. If you want a quality sandwich, stop by. Always good food and a fun place to hang out. My 2 year old loves roaming the shop with the tvs, booths, and the games. That said, it also helps keep her in one place with the tv in the booth. Staff is always friendly and pretty efficient. Their sandwiches are really good too, getting cream cheese on them threw me at first but I really enjoy it at times. They do a great job customizing any sandwich and the local specials are all really good. They really load up the sandwiches which is great. I love that getting a large sandwich is definitely enough to feed our family of 3. If you are ever looking for a great salad, this is on of my favorite places to get it. They do a great job with little ones too, they have a nice coloring station to grab a paper and crayons. Decent menu for the kiddos as well. read more

Since I already my Yeti cooler with drinks and a party sized bag of kettle chips, we only needed a tasty sandwich to round out our lunch. We stopped in and were greeted by two young guys, both students at nearby Cal Poly in SLO. We ended up with a medium sandwich, which was pretty epic, with roast beef, pepper jack cheese, bacon, avocado, the works. We had them cut it in half, it was still massive. I have been a customer here for years, but today was out of the ordinary and I wanted to extend praise. Sometimes I want something simple and tasty, and that's when I go after the "skinny dipper" sandwich- it's a hot sliced roast beef sandwich with onions and cheese on a French roll with au jus. It's usually pretty good, but today it was amazing. It was like prime rib. It was a little pink inside and more tender than usual. Tasty joint while visiting the area! We dined on a Wednesday and I ordered the Shark Bite sandwich. Overall pretty good, but didn't need the bacon imo so I just tossed the bacon aside. Walking in you get a tiki hut/beachy kind of vibe. The staff was friendly and answered our questions. We decided to share a Santa Cruz sandwich, which is pastrami based. And wow, even though their sandwich are on the expensive side, it was indeed a great sandwich. Who would have thought to put all these ongredients into a sandwich. Well Beach Hut Deli did! It was layers of pastrami, provolone cheese, cream cheese, bacon, pickles, red onions, avocado, pepperconis, lettuce and tomato with a small smear of mayo/mustard. The staff here are a imbroglio. After selecting our choice I asked one of the staff behind the counter, "where do I place my order?" He just stood there staring at me. I asked the second one the same question, again just looked at me staring. Then my wife asked, again silence. And just when we were about to leave Jessica jumped in and said she would take the order. I asked her what was the problem with the two guys helping her. She stated "we are very busy". There was one person sitting down and my wife and I that's it!
