This was the first time at this blast and brew. There is another location in Paso. I do not know if there are independently owned or the same. We arrived around 4:30 on a weekday and it was pretty slow with a few people there. I liked the full bar with spirits. It just the beer and wine on tap. The arcade area was a hit for the kids. I also saw a dance room. The location is clean and well decorated. The food was good. Our servers are kind and sweet. My only complaint was the time it took to get the food and the section on tap that required the card was completely out of carbonation. All the beers were a little flat. Thankfully the games kept the kids busy while we waited for food and there was a bar that you can get other drinks from. read more

I'm honestly not sure how this place has a 4-star rating. The service was friendly enough, but the food was very disappointing. The burger patty was extremely dry and lacked any flavor. The steak fries were also dry on the inside and had a crumbly texture. The kids' pizza was decent, but it tasted almost identical to a frozen cheese pizza from Trader Joe's. The mozzarella sticks seemed like standard frozen appetizers you could buy at any grocery store. I understand this isn't meant to be a fine dining experience, and I wasn't expecting one. However, even by typical bar-food standards, the quality fell well below expectations. read more

They recently sent out coupons for a personal pizza for $5 seven days a week from opening until 5pm - what they don't put on the coupon is that it is dine in only - take out is not an option. Having been here several times, we find the food to be consistently excellent. Their Lunch Specials are a great value which are offered Monday through Friday from 11 to 3 daily. Country music plays in the background but not so obtrusively loud one has to shout during a conversation. The vibe at Blast & Brew is upbeat and the entire staff are friendly and helpful. Jam to live music on Friday and Saturday nights. There is outdoor seating as well as the huge interior seating of booths & tables. There is a banquet area for private events. Terrible service. The waitress refused my order for a Hawaiian pizza, telling me that they had run out of all types of pizza. I felt discriminated against, because it turned out they actually *did* have gluten-free and cauliflower pizzas. We complained, and our waitress ended up looking ridiculous. Muy mal servicio. Have been here a few times and consistently the staff are nice and helpful. This bar has an upbeat ambiance and a true sports bar feel. Drinks are great. They do have Happy Hour deals. Just had the nachos with chicken and they were just okay. Felt they should have been more flavorful for the price. We will still go back and try something else. read more

I attended a retirement party here last week and I was very pleased with the service and food! We reserved the outdoor patio as we were expecting 20-30 guests. The server (Tori) and manager (Nicole) were fantastic. They assisted us in getting set up, made sure the tables were clean and notified other customers that the patio was closed for our event. The food came out at a steady stream, Tori was on point with making sure everyone had drinks and kept an eye on the food, notifying us if something was running low. The food tasted great and was just what we needed for our crowd! Tori had a lot to take care of and she never missed a beat and kept a smile on her face the whole time. Wow--what an incredible experience! The customer service here is some of the best I've had in a long time. Our waitress, Ashley, was absolutely amazing--so friendly, attentive, and accommodating. What really stood out was that even the bartenders and the manager checked in on us, which made us feel truly valued. The food didn't disappoint either. I had the hamburger dipped in au jus with steak fries--delicious! I also tried their hazy IPA, which was refreshing and tasty. To top it off, a kickass country band was playing, adding to the great atmosphere. We went on a Saturday night, and surprisingly it wasn't packed. The best "fast food/Americannn"pizza from Santa Margarita to San Miguel. Located off the 101, Curbaril Exit, is Blast and Brew. We found out that they had Me N Ed's pizza here, so we called in an order. 2 12" Cheese Pizza. They said 25mins. When we went in, it was hot and ready. The restaurant is the old Santa Maria Brewery. It's a large Brewery style Restaurant. The pizza is the "California Cracker Crust Style". The undercarriage is peppery, cornmeal, salty, hard, cracker crust. The cheese was nice and cheesy. I loved how they put a good amount out their tangy, peppery, smokey, sauce. For once in North County, a pizza I didn't want to throw in the trash. *Note that they also make their own pizza there and you have to ask for the Me N Ed's* read more

Well, we gave them a second shot. The space is huge, and has a ton of booths/tables. They definitely seem to get busy. The hostess was there from our previous attempt to stop by, but a manager thankfully seemed to be the only person actually seating tables while she floated around attending to something else, and he was a lot more welcoming/friendly. The booths are comfortable, although on the day of our visit, it was over 100 degrees and they had the front doors propped open, allowing both heat and flies in- it was pretty gross and buggy by the time we left. We tried the pour-your-own beer route, but found that the choices were kind of sad compared to their Paso location- basically, it was a whole bunch of high-octane IPAs and a pilsner on the date of our visit. I'm not sure how often they rotate, or if this is the standard for this location. The menu is huge (red flag, in hindsight). We tried a boneless wing special, and shared a pizza. The boneless wings were actually comically large breaded chicken breast tenderloins, which were really tough/dry inside despite the sauces being generously added. The BBQ sauce was okay, but the "parmesan garlic" sauce consisted of just a ton of oil pooling on the bottom of the plate, with mass-produced parmesan shreds mixed in. Our pizza arrived almost entirely raw, unfortunately- most of the slices were uncooked dough with a bunch of cold, bagged pre-shredded cheese parked on top. The edges were more melted, but the center was cold and unbaked. Our server, who was actually truly fantastic throughout our meal and was the most redeeming/positive part of our experience, was really great about it- she brought out a new one within 15 minutes, and that one was thankfully cooked/okay. The food and atmosphere are a solid "nope" for me, but the actual service at the table was great! It might be a safer bet to drop by for a drink and maybe an easy-to-nail appetizer than for an actual meal, if someone is really determined to give them a shot. read more

My husband and I just tried Blast and Brew tonight for their Tuesday Tacos. Although the food was very good, the service was absolutely deplorable!!! We sat for over 10 minutes without anyone coming to ask if we even wanted water. When the very busy bartender finally got to us; we had hope. Then we finally were served our tacos, but not the rest of our order and asked the young white server for the rest of our order and maybe some salsa or Tapitio to go with the tacos. She came back after a while with the rest of our order without sating anything and without salsa or hot sauce. Then we never saw her again at our table even though I watched her walking back and forth through the restaurant with nothing in her hands. I thought that she might be looking for what we asked her for over 10 minutes while our food was getting cold. We were also watching other disappointed customers in the restaurant. We Then spoke to the service manager. She listened to our experience. BUT, as we were walking out, that same young, racist server rolled her eyes at us. I told her "shame on you". She replied, "just shut up". Is this proper customer service. I immediately called the restaurant and suggested that this be a teaching moment and that this server be held responsible for her behavior. If I were the manager; I would fire the employee. I have been a Me n Ed's fan since the mid 80's where there is a location next to a good old Pool Hall in Long Beach, CA. I have been a fan of Blast & Brew since finding a newer Me n Ed's in Nipomo that had been taken over by the same group. Being a "beerhead", I really enjoyed the mix of local standards along with their own mix of B&B brews. In Pismo, I met the gentlemen responsible for their brewing and truly enjoyed visiting many of their locations. I have lived in Atown, part time since 2016. In June of 2025, my wife and I moved here full time. I love this area and was ecstatic when B&B moved into the old Santa Maria Brewing facility. Being from this area, there are many Breweries to choose from...we are blessed!! With that said, I have come to the Atown B&B on many occasions. My wife has recently joined me since the addition of the Smash Burger....yummy! I had been talkin up the place.... Smash Burgers and Expresso Martini Slushes....OMG. The staff, mostly bartenders as I always sit at the bar, have been exceptional! Most recently, I brought my inlaws and my daughter's family (husband and two beautiful grandchildren) to the Atown facility. This was a rainy Saturday, after my daughter brought her whole crew up her for the weekend. With the rain, our choices were limited, but we ended up at B&B after a couple of hours at the Bounce House. The outside area @ B&B was closed because of the wet weather so, we had six adults and two young children at a booth, waiting for food, while the adults waited for alcohol. I needed a beer! The waitress, I will not name but could based on the receipt my wife brought home, brought out the waters and non alcoholic beverages as we pre-ordered food for the hungry children. I tried to be patient... We had just seen our waitress walk in the door as we parked. I knew she had just started her shift. So, being a long time restaurant employee, I did not want to start her shift on a wrong note. I tried to be patient... As I watched her and her bartender catch up. A few minutes later, I left our table, checking to see if the outside area was dry enough to let the kids play. I spent a few minutes pondering over the drying patio, as the sun had just come out right before we arrived, thinking maybe I should ask the manager if it was dry enough to take the kids outside. Instead, I turned back towards our table and saw that the waitress and bartender were still conversing. I knew the only thing between me and my beer was my waitress, and the bartender she was talking to. I needed a beer! My next move was to approached our waitress with the intent of asking if I could grab my beer while we waited for the sun to dry off the patio. She saw me heading her way and met me before I could get to the bar. I asked her if I could could please get my beer? She said, "What beer would you like?" I said, "Didn't you just take my order...I wanted a German Lager." This is where I felt the response got out of hand.... She said, "Oh, yes...your beer is on order and I will bring it to you when it is ready." The response was snarky and I really wanted to respond with a similar tone. But my years in the restaurants held me back and I instead turned around and headed back to our table. Almost all the way to our booth and my anger elevated. I did not stop at or table, but left the restaurant, thinking I would walk it off. The more I thought about it, the angrier I got. Next thing I knew, I was in my car headed home. Our family had arrived in three cars, so I knew my wife would not be stranded. I quickly texted my wife and lied to her, saying I did not feel well. When in reality, I felt fine, should have been with my family but was headed home, too angry to face our server again. I could have easily kept this to myself, but thought I might share as a means to relieve my angst. Although a fan B&B, I have decided to stop visiting the Atascadero location. There are many other places in Atown to enjoy a craft beer, with a server that wants to make the experience pleasant. I will end with, this poor experience was probably one in seven or eight visits here. I have had some great experiences here and may try again in the future. But this one bad experience was enough to steer me away for awhile. Cheers! read more

I was excited when Blast & Brew opened in Atascadero, but I've found the quality to be inconsistent from one visit to the next. I've tried probably a dozen things and half are home runs and half are misses. Usually dine in has been very good (4 star), but I've had very bad luck with take out (1-2 star). Last time I dined in the restaurant I got the crispy chicken sandwich with hot honey and it was amazing. Unfortunately tonight I ordered the same thing for take out and it was awful. They missed my instructions to hold the tomatoes and pickles, and the kitchen went ahead and put the hot honey on the sandwich, so between the tomato and the sauce, the bun and breading were a soggy mess. The entire sandwich was saturated in dill pickle flavor, too. I called the restaurant to let them know that my meal was basically inedible, and they thanked me for my feedback and hung up. No offer of a refund or to remake the meal. To be fair, I didn't request it, but like most other places would have offered a make-good. I have also ordered pizza in the past for carry out and was unimpressed - cheese was very sparse and tomato sauce was thick and overwhelmed the flavor. I may eat here again if friends want to go, but I'll for sure not be ordering take out in the future. Other dishes I've tried: Philly Cheesesteak - Great Grilled Chicken Dip - Great Brussel sprouts - Great Bacon Wrapped Shrimp - meh, thick bacon overwhelmed the shrimp Steak Bites - Ok, ours were under-seasoned Mac & Cheese - very cheesy but flavor was lacking. Needed more salt maybe. read more

The only complaint is the bar stools. My legs fall asleep, the edge of the seat and low heel rest and no foot rail makes it tough to set for very long. read more

Honestly so sad I have to write this.. after hearing good things from friends about this place my family and I decided to try it out..I will say the cocktails are very good!! Service was ok. There was a wait time before we got seated that took longer than expected even though the place was dead.. once seated it took a while before anyone came to take a drink order. Food was ok not great.. they did mess up one of our orders. We were seated before 4 other tables and all 4 of those tables got their food before we did even though we ordered before they did.
