My wife and I stopped in to finally try it and decided to go with their signature sandwiches . When our order was brought to our table I immediately noticed a small dark hair embedded in my cream cheese . I took the sandwich back to the window and discreetly told the owner about it trying not to freak out any customers because I know things like that happen . The piece of cream cheese was removed from my sandwich and replaced which I was ok with and I started to eat my sandwich until a second hair was found and both my wife and I could not stand to finish our meal ! The owner did try to give us a $5 dollar gift card but I refused since we will not eat there again ! read more

Showed up around 2pm on a Sunday and they still served breakfast! I had the dawn patrol which was a sandwich with egg whites, avocado, bacon, turkey, pepper jack cheese and this amazing cream cheese tapatío spread. It was pretty big sandwich and it was so gooey from the cheese. I felt healthy eating because of what was in it but it tasted good not like I'm eating something healthy. My boyfriend had the Reuben and I've never liked pastrami but this sandwich was delicious! They had a thousand island, mustard, pickles mix that was super good. Sat outside in the patio where I can see the beach from, super nice lunch! Will be back! read more

Good food, friendly service. My only gripe with this place was the assumption that I was not in the military. It was my first time there and I was with a group of three other service members (all male, of course). They all received their free chips & drink and asked me why I didn't get mine. I didn't even know that was a thing. Hopefully this establishment, which is gracious enough to do something nice for service members, soon realizes that there are women in the military too. read more

Pretty good little spot in Oceanside to stop for lunch. I was craving a sandwich or salad, something on the medium-bad to healthy scale. This place fit the bill. Plenty of free, timed parking outside, nice for it being located so close to the pier. Upon entering, the smell of bacon permeated the air - good start. They had lots of options! I perused the menu and the Hawaiian salad caught my eye, I've always been a sucker for the pulled pork and pineapple combo. I placed my order at the counter, got a Diet Coke from the soda fountain (always a win), then sat down at the bar. It took about five minutes for my salad to be delivered to my table. Good flavors and the BBQ had a nice little kick to it. They were a little skimpy on the bacon, but not horrible. The toilet in the bathroom didn't flush, much to my chagrin when I discovered that after having used it...oops. Told the front and they apologized and put a sign on the door. Overall, a nice little spot near the beach. I'd like to come back after work and enjoy a beer. read more

I came here for lunch once and was very underwhelmed, but their breakfast menu looked promising so I gave them another shot. Again, extremely meh. I got a Big Wave burrito, which is eggs, pulled pork, Tabasco, onions, tomatoes, and avocado. Sounds great, right? It was the same thing that was wrong with the lunch sandwich- they just don't seem to get food. The onions were raw, which is not typically how I like to start off my morning, with a mouthful of raw onion. The pork was descent, but the eggs? I don't know if they microwaved them or how they cooked these eggs, but they looked so unappetizing. Some were also tinged blueish green, which was concerning. The tortilla was just adequate. Basically, it lacked the cohesiveness and depth of flavors I would expect from a place that's supposedly been around for 35 years. With so many good places to eat around here, don't waste a meal at the beach hut. read more

I am super excited for this new location! I discovered "beach hut deli" down in San Diego and was thrilled when they announced they would be opening one in Oceanside. The sandwiches are to die for! I've had both the surfin bird and now today I tried the spicolli and both are delicious! The portioning is huge and you get what you pay for! Terrible experience. No respect for humanity here. Trash left on the floor where food is prepared and spills left on the floor for customers to slip on. My poor relative slipped on a spill and was not even asked if she was okay. She fell into a trash can that at least caught her fall otherwise she might have gone through the glass window. She asked for a manager and an accident report but was completely ignored. Staff acted like it never happened and just waited for us to leave. Staff rolled their eyes and shook their heads when we canceled our food order since we did not want to eat there anymore after the incident. Watch where you walk here because this place is dirty and gross. Very disgusted by these people. Owners friend was sitting at the bar drinking booze and made nasty comments about her slipping on the water spill and did not show concern. New owner must not care about their customers or the quality of their business with the filth left on the floor. read more
