Might have been good, but I'll never really know. I placed a timed order and arrived 5 minutes early to find my name on a Uber Eats bag. No employees anywhere in sight, so I took it and left. What I discovered was a burger and onion rings that had obviously been sitting there a while, despite my early arrival. The bun on the burger was as smashed as the patties, and both the burger snd rings were room temperature. They both had some decent flavor, but just too cold to really enjoy. Would have asked why it was already sitting there, but who would I ask? O'siders, if you want to try this place, do it quickly. I don't see this place lasting long. ** Edit** The owner asked for my email, which I provided along with a comment that I was not looking for any enticement to return. Wanted a decent burger without ending up with a $50+ bill for two, so we braved the Thursday evening Sunset Market around 6:15 PM. There was a decent crowd, but in hindsight we probably should have canceled right after ordering. The staff seemed overwhelmed and just not fully on top of things. As soon as we got home, our concerns turned out to be justified. We ordered a Cowboy Burger, an All-American, and Crazy Fries. Instead, we received two Cowboy Burgers that were overcooked and poorly assembled. The fries were undercooked--floppy, greasy slivers rather than crispy fries. Pretty disappointing. Fan of Smash Burgers? Yep. Definitely roll in and get a Crispy. So good. I got the double burger bowl and added 2 extra patties. The bowl comes with jalapeños, banana peppers, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, and I may be missing something hahah. Either way it was gooooood. Staff was awesome and helpful. It was pretty quiet when I was inside but I could see them getting pretty busy on the weekends. Looked like they had a nice bar setup as well if you were to come by for a burger and a beer. Strike two! Won't be coming back. Service is almost non existent. Took about five minutes for someone to come out and take our order. The girl took our orders and went back into the kitchen for about 15 minutes. There were six of us, so we tried to be patient. Walk in orders that were placed after our orders were filled. Took about another 20 minutes for the remainder of our order to come out of the kitchen, and was cold. Clearly no manager on staff to oversee customer service, the burgers and fries were just thrown into containers, not resembling anything on the menu board. Please get your act together. Ordered the Double Bigger Better Mack Burger (Double (100% Angus Beef) with a Hash Brown in the middle all topped with melted Cheddar Cheese, Raw Onion, Lettuce, Pickles and House sauce (Thousand Island) on a Toasted Brioche Bun.) with upgraded Crazy fries (think In-n-Out's Animal style fries with grilled onions, thousand island sauce and melted cheese on top of French fries) and a drink combo, Kids (2) sliders combo (with added avocado, fries and drink, single cowboy burger (Single 100% Angus Beef patty, melted White American Cheese, Bacon, Onion Rings, topped with light BBQ Sauce and light Mayonnaise all loaded onto a Brioche Bun) with pickles, and no jalapenos. They were TOO LIGHT handed on the condiments that my burger was dry, and everyone's buns were warm and toasted but mine were cold. We also ordered the double original OG crispy burger (Original Double (100% Angus Beef) with melted White American Cheese, Grilled Onions, and Crispy Sauce (Thousand Island) on a Toasted Brioche Bun) with bacon and upgraded 1/2 fries 1/2 onion rings and drink combo, and double mushroom swiss garlic crispy burger (Double Crispy Burger with Swiss Cheese, Mushrooms and Garlic Aioli spread) with upgraded cheese fries and drink combo. The double mushroom Swiss garlic burger was the best flavor hands down! It was the juiciest and delicious! I know smash burgers are known to be smashed down but I've never had any so thin before. All the ones I've ever had before had a nice thickness to them, even though they were smashed down. These were a lot thinner than I'm used to. The onion rings were panko crusted and delicious. Wished there were more than just 4 for that 1/2 order, but then again, it was just that...a 1/2 order! Husband and I did our own food wars with Crispy Burger and Cosmos since they are right across the street from each other. What we failed to do was order the same type of burger from each place. I guess that means we will have to do it again We ordered the original crispy burger and the better Mac from Cosmos. Both are excellent. My husband leans towards the crispy burger, it's a little bit larger in diameter and we both agree that the cheese and beef used really knocks it outta of the park. Fries - crispy burger wins. Such a gem! This family owned and run business is a SMASH! Got a late notice about their soft opening today. So glad I caught up with them after work. One of the owners, Angela, was still there toward the end of the day. Such personable and friendly service. Food is off the charts. Shakes are hand scooped and made to perfection. Smash burgers are made to order and handed out quick! Fries and probably the best I've ever had. Menu has slightly expanded since I first discovered their initial location.... For the better! Met my daughter here tonight for dinner. I had the OG she had the Cali Burger. We shared a combo fries and onion rings. She had a coke and I had a chocolate shake. The food was hot and fresh. We both agreed the onion rings were exceptional! The smashed burger was a bit thin and hanging out of the bun for me. The man helping us with our order was kind and patient with us. The restaurant was clean; every table with the chairs pushed in and not one piece of trash anywhere. Happened upon the Oceanside Location after the Art Walk last night. Service was amazing & the food was delicious. I had the impossible burger w/crispy fries and was absolutely surprised by the delicious taste. My friend had a regular cheese burger with onion rings and she loved it. I'm sure this burger appeals to a lot of people, but not really my thing. I ordered from here since there wasn't much else around that I could order DoorDash from. We were staying at the Mission Pacific Hotel a few blocks down. Food: I don't eat meat, so I got their impossible burger. I know, its not real beef so I shouldn't judge this place based on that, but it was pretty greasy though. More greasy that other impossible burgers I've had. I assume they probably used the same grill as their normal beef patties, so I can only imagine those are just as greasy. I felt like I just downed a bottle of oil after eating it. The place was in shambles when I walked in. Chairs were all over the place, trash on the ground, tables were dirty. I felt like I walked into a dirty burger joint. I have only had it delivered, and they have been the crispiest French fries and onions rings ever. Absolutely obsessed. Ate it two days in row, and made my friends get something in the second day. Sadly, this will be mine and my boyfriends last time coming here. I'm writing this not even 30 mins later because I'm disappointed. The moment we walked In, I should have walked away because it smelt like wet dog but we continued anyways. The customer service was good but when we got the food and walked 3 mins back home, everything was disappointing. Fries and onion rings are cold, my burger was full of pepper, the bun was smashed. There was only 1 other person there so there was no need for the rush. I was forcing myself to finish it just to feel like I didn't waste my money but I couldn't. 2 bites and I got icked out. Something was VERY off with the sauces, especially the ranch. I thought it was because they were left out at room temp for customers to grab at their own convenience but when I received my chicken salad it came with a cold one that tasted just as bad. They had to have been old. Maybe they prepped too many and didn't realize they had expired. Thousand island tasted off too. Bbq sauce was alright, as I was hoping it would make up for the ranch. The crispy hot honey siracha and ranch chicken salad was yummy, the chicken was crispy and I could have eaten just that. I didn't taste any siracha though. We also found a hair on the side of the og cripsy burger. Not sure if it flew in on its way to our table or if it came from the kitchen. Before we saw it we thought the burger was mid. It was very salty but had potential. Inside needs booths and a more welcoming atmosphere, it feels like the tables and chairs were thrown in without any thought. They had a decent menu with variety and very fair pricing but I stuck with their leader item and a cold draft beer. They cook the food to order so I waited only a short while for a hand made fabulous burger piled with fresh standard toppings on a perfect bun.
