We were craving sandwiches and saw the reviews for Beach Hut Deli. Pleasantly surprised by the engaging staff. One of the staff members, Shawn, told us that he moved here from the bay. Told us this beach life was what he wanted and sandwiches to him are his art pieces. I'd have to admit, they make a damn good looking sandwich taste just the way it looks. This gem has been in business 40 years and has many locations but this one is super convenient for me. If you ever want a vat of nacho cheese for nearly nothing- go here. I have been ordering for this place for at least 4 years. Lately it's been disappointing. I order a sandwich with extra veggies or the bread toasted and it's been the opposite. Bread not toasted as requested or veggies as ordered. It's disappointing to pay for what you think you have ordered and getting home and it's not at all. It would be beneficial to have staff to the fulfill the order. As a local and past frequent customer to have this come to fulfillment. Until then I will go elsewhere. I ordered my Easter Dinner on the UberEats app to be delivered to my work. I selected a sandwich and was delivered something else, and when I called the restaurant they said that the UberEats site was wrong and they offered a product that the restaurant doesn't sell so they sent a substitution that they thought would be fit. Ok, I did some research and the mix up is that when you look at the menu at the restaurant and online it shows a price of $10.50 next to the Surfin Bird sandwich. So, I made the assumption that this would be for a small 6 inch sandwich and an extra large or 12 inch sandwich would be a little less than twice as much. But, apparently it's $10.50 for a 3 inch sandwich! That's what shows up when you go to place an order on Yelp and the $10.50 also shows on their menu when you're in the restaurant. They don't list prices for the larger sandwiches. I'm still flabbergasted. The mystery is solved though on how my 12 inch sandwich came out to $27. Please be aware of the trickery. read more

I would second the best sandwich shop in SoCal! Wow this place is amazing. Knowing we had to pickup some items in Oceanside... I opt to make a day out of it by watching our games (49ers and Rams) and a stroll on the beach. We found parking with ease, there is free and paid parking available nearby. We walk in to very friendly and helpful smiling faces... given a little fun sarcasm for our team jerseys (well the Rams guy!), ordered our food and decided to get a daily special Michelada. The Michelada had a kick, But good. They had the 9ers game playing on 3 tvs and the Rams on quite a few as well... it was perfect! We were able to grab seats before the place started to get packed. Most of the customers with kids chose to sit outside. It was a great welcoming environment and you could tell this places has its regulars. The service was top notch with making sure our glasses were full and our tummies. We notice the soup selection once we finished eating and thought it would be perfect on a rainy or cold day. The menu is extensive with not only hot and cold sandwiches but soups and salads. The food... my Rams guy got a Woody Sandwich which was roast beef and tastes freshly made... I ended up with the Sunburn and it was so delicious and the chicken was cooked perfectly. It was a lot of food that I only ended up eating one half. We can't wait to come back and try more sandwiches... too bad ubereats doesn't deliver that far! Highly recommend over the other sandwich shop on the corner.
