My gripe is with the bathing suit selection for women, and surf attire in general. They don't carry any functional bikini tops! Everything is a triangle that rushes on the bottom that 1. Will move around in the water so you can be flashing everyone and 2. Will hurt your sternum if you're surfing for longer than 20 minutes. Anything with beads, ties, other lumpy textures in the front of bathing suits is painful when you're on your front paddling. Just saying. Everything looks like surf fashion but I was hoping for actual useful surf stuff. Not many powertops or shorties for when it gets a little chilly either :-/

I just moved to South Florida from Connecticut and brought my kayak with me in hopes of seeing some wildlife. My boyfriend doesn't have a kayak of his own and suggested we book a rental with a tour guide to show us around - I am so glad we did! Misty and her super cute canine, Abu, were the most amazing tour guides ever. Before our arrival, Misty kept in contact with excellent communication. She provided quality rental equipment, and not only did we feel very safe the entire time, she is an expert at spotting wildlife. The Peanut Island paddle was suggested for us - we were so blessed to see an abundance of manatees floating under us, a stingray, a starfish so big I almost called the Guinness Book of World Records (haha only half-joking!) and plenty of beautiful birds, lizards and fish. The excursion took about two hours and we never felt rushed at all, although it was just the right amount of time before we started to get a little tired. Can't thank Salty Dog Paddle enough for this incredibly special and very memorable experience. Misty was even thoughtful enough to take photos and videos for us which she sent after - she really was the best part of this experience for us!! Highly recommended!!!

There is a huge pavilion…read moreright before the beach with park benches, bathrooms, and rinse stations, and a small outlet of restaurants/ shops that you can easily walk to from the beach, so that you don't even have to pick everything up and can leave it and come back- that's exactly what I did. And the beach itself is great! The water is actually so clear, I wasn't sure how it's be since it is atlantic side, and some of the more northern atlantic beaches are pretty murky, but the water here is just as pristine and crystal as they come! Tons of shells as well, especially some really cool orange-striped ones. I loved the day I spent here and wanted to stay longer, though the weather when I went did not bode well for that. Only downside I could think of is parking might get a little tricky because there's not a real big lot, but if you get there early you can get a front row and it's free! I will certainly be back and would definitely encourage you to come if you're debating!

When I arrived they even outfitted me with a carbon paddle as I am an experienced paddler. The paddle boards were in great shape; they took the time to show you the routes and explain local fish in the water. And even the best part is their retail store which has a huge assortment of beachwear and accessories. I had bought a ton of stuff and forgot my vinyl stickers and he went across the street to Guanabanas to bring them to me! Great staff and highly efficient! They have a decent selection of clothing- I see they usually stick with the same brands- and over price them you can find the same brands online for cheaper than they sell in store 90% of the time- And when you do see stuff there they sell out of season bikinis from swimsuit brands for 50$ for a top and bottom that are on the actual websites for 25 a piece. They sell outdated swimsuits for full price.
