Ice cream isn't bad, workers are friendly, but what is so difficult about filling a container of ice cream to the top? Ordered two quarts of ice cream that were filled a little over halfway before the worker decided to give up and throw a lid on it. It would be nice to get what you pay for, especially in this economy when everything is overpriced as is. Tried Beach Plum for the first time the other day & WOW! The ice cream is off the charts, there's just something special about local jersey shore ice cream parlors. Absolutely loveeeee their ice cream & now it's one of my top cravings. The only thing is they get so busy because of their popularity in Bradley that the employees always feel like they're rushing you. But let me be clear, they're NEVER rude. Just make sure as customers, you're using your manners towards the employees, as long lines easily stress them out (which is 100% valid). I totally understand, but I had to take a star off for that. I have been going to Beach Plum for years. I have been going to it through 3 owners. The first 2 were great. The new one though I do not know them is not as good. They buy store bought ice cream there is a sign that says manufactured by ... then the name. In other words it is not home made! Now it is like any ice cream anywhere! The Jersey shore is known for home made ice cream so I can't imagine they will stay in business. Then again there is a popular ice cream store in Ocean Grove that is store bought and they stay in business but I think that is because tourists go. The location of this one draws mainly locals. Though they did have some interesting flavors for sure, the quality and taste has gone down. I had a plain soft serve and had to throw it out! It tasted like it had sand in it and was overly sweet! We walked over and immediately saw a line going out the building. So it kinda made me more excited to go seeing how many people were there. Oh I will also add that this place is cash only so definitely be prepared with cash on hand before going. They had a variety of hard ice cream, gelato, soft serve, and vegan ice cream. And all the flavors are freshly made at the ice cream parlor. I tried the vanilla with peanut butter. It was very creamy and I was totally surprised by how much peanut butter swirls/chunks was in the ice cream. It was delicious! I will definitely be retuning when I'm back in the area. read more

They also have a good selection of no sugar added flavors and frozen yogurt made with Greek yogurt. They let you sample as much as you like, and the best part? You can get two big scoops and still have it be considered a small, for only $3.50! The ONLY thing that keeps me from giving 5 stars is that, both times I've gone, I've bit into ice in my ice cream. Ahh the Beach Plum (the name reminds me of the Peach Pit from the days of "90210")! The Beach Plum is open over the summers down the Jersey Shore. It's a great little ice cream shop, which you can tell from the big weekend crowds. Nothing special in terms of decor (but I am partial to the purple exterior), and service is so-so, as you've got mostly high school and college students working the counter. Fortunately, they're very generous with their scoop servings. Good size portions and perfect beach town type of feel. it's a great place to go on a hot day whether going or coming from the beach. I went to Beach Plum last night and had the "Butterfinger Blast", which was delicious. Beach Plum is an annual ritual when we come to the Jersey Shore. I recommend the hard ice-cream, as opposed to the soft serve. The service was very good, the prices reasonable and you can also get two flavors in a "small" serving, which is really two scoops. Plum Beach is a family-friendly comfortable spot where the workers are nice, the space is comfortable, and every flavor (especially Oreo and Cookie Dough) is a journey into perfect brain-freezed bliss. Tonight I went to Beach Plum Ice Cream Palor with my girlfriend and my mother who is a senior citizen. As soon as I walked in the one girl helped me and she was very nice and helpful. My girlfriend was helping my mother out of the car in the rain and they came in and placed their order since we were all together. My mother asked for an ice cream sandwich and they told her they don't sell them singular, only as a 6 pack. (If you really want to provide customer service- you should take it out of the six pack and serve them as singles when customers request it) my girlfriend placed her order of three different flavors. As it was hard to manage with a mask on and ice cream melting down my cone. I was able to notice how rude the owner was. The owner was the worst out of all the employees. The employees carry that place and are beyond friendly and helpful, but the owner is nasty. The owner asked the girl at the register, "didn't she get the ice cream sandwich?" The girl said no. The owner rolled his eyes. Any time you asked a question the owner would roll his eyes or make a snarky comment. Advice to the owner- start taking training from your employees and have them lead you on how to have excellent customer service. Everyone's money is good anywhere and there are a lot of other ice cream places down the shore that will be happy to take my money with a smile. read more

Had an awful experience at the Beach Plum. For what use to be an amazing ice cream shop, the quality has gone downhill tremendously over the years. Ice cream was average and I was not pleased with how this guy (who I assume is the manager/owner) interacted with the young employees. The girl helping me was lovely but the manager continued to order her around and make comments in a cold/disrespectful way.
