I came to Beach Tennis after getting ignored at Pete Martin's Tennis Shop down the street and was greeted the minute I walked in. There were two gentlemen in there, one was stringing a racquet. They don't have a huge selection, but we looked around and the guy asked how he could help us. I said I just needed some grip and what kind and color they had. He showed me a couple and I said it was just for my son's racquet, so he showed one to me and said it was a little cheaper. I appreciate that honesty and that he didn't try to upsell me. I bought the grip and was on my way, and it was great customer service. tl;dr excellent service and buying experience, would absolutely recommend over going with the usual online outlets. I've gone through the whole racquet demo and selection process online before, but for my latest racquet journey I wanted to try going more local. Long story short, Brian and Ken were incredibly helpful in guiding me through the demo and racquet selection process, and I'm really glad I found this shop. Some benefits of going local over online: - Same day convenience: no more waiting for demos and racquets to ship, I was able to drop by the shop on my own time and try out different racquets the same day and return them as soon as I was done. Going with online 1-week trials can be tricky since I don't play every week, so having to schedule shipping during a week when I can make the most of the demo gets tricky. Just make sure you call ahead of time to verify availability. - Personalized service: Brian and Ken were very knowledgeable about the different characteristics of the racquets I wanted to try, and they were very patient with my questions and asks for advice - Value: the above two reasons already provided way more value than I would get through shopping online, but I found prices to be even better than I expected. - Stronger network: I now have a trusted shop to go to whenever I have any tennis needs, and I'm looking forward to coming back for stringing and adjustments down the line. My dad can't stop raving about them! I broke my strings and needed my racquet re-strung. He was referred to Beach Tennis by the Jack Kramer Club's pro-shop, so he brought my racquet to Brian along with a couple of other racquets that needed new grip tape. They did a fantastic job and my dad who interfaced with them really appreciated their service and friendliness. Their prices are also reasonable, too. My new favorite tennis shop in the South Bay! He's got the latest stringing equipment, a nice selection of rackets with plenty of demos and great prices. I was complaining about my sore feet and he recommended a great pair of shoes that helped my feet a ton. The place has the best service with fast turn around times for restringing rackets.... but my favorite thing by far is having my rackets wrapped in plastic waiting for me! Tennis pro shops are getting hard to find, I mean walking into a shop and speaking to someone with actually knows about their products. So Beach Tennis was a great find for me, I'm very picky about my racquets and strings and it was refreshing to find this shop with someone who was friendly and informative.
