She told us we can sit where ever we want. Our waitress were polite and attentive. We ordered the veal cutlet, poutine, and, the egg benedict. Food came out pretty fast. The poutine is pretty much just fries with gravy and a little bit of melted cheese. There is no cheese curds what so ever. It is definitely not a poutine. Overall, the food were just decent. Great diner experience - we came for breakfast with two young restless kids. We were thankful to be seated quickly and to have friendly and helpful servers. I love the environment here- wood paneling, nice Halloween decorations and clean floors and restrooms. We ordered the cheese omelet with home fries and onions, French toast with whipped cream and strawberries (devoured by our toddler) and the Belgian waffle with sausage gravy (sounded weird to me, but was glad I ordered it because it was delicious). With 3 entrees and 2 coffees, the bill was around $35, which I think is quite reasonable. Would definitely recommend for breakfast! read more

My mom and I found this on our way to Walmart in Lehighton,PA. This is a nice diner that has an old-school diner feel to it. The food and atmosphere were good here. They don't have a big, traditional diner-style menu, but enough choices to satisfy anyone craving breakfast or dinner at a reasonable price. The service was good; we weren't kept waiting too long, but understood as they had a sign to notify us of being short-staffed. read more

Extremely nice server, quick service, and relaxed atmosphere. Really neat old-fashioned diner vibe! The salads were crisp and cold. The poutine was cheesy and greasy, as it should be. The au jus for the French Dip had onions. Got a nice little bag of Martin's chips with it so I could take them home for later. The Meatloaf and whipped mashed potatoes were like grandma's. Sweet rice pudding with whipped cream and cinnamon to top it off and grabbed some homemade halupki soup to take home. The menu is fascinating with some really interesting options! I gave this a place a 1 because first in November the place had air conditioning on had to sit with oversized coat because it felt like i was outside. The potstickers were greasy and the sauce was so spicy hot without no indication on the menu and i cant have spice ruined my whole meal. read more

We had a great diner lunch here! It's got a local diner vibe and menu. We both got lunch specials. One seemed to be a regular menu item and the other a true 'special' since it was St. Patrick's Day. Service was friendly and attentive. Prices were VERY reasonable especially since we were just a couple miles from super touristy Jim Thorpe. I don't know what all the negative reviews were all about. Clearly the Beacon 443 Diner in Lehighton PA is a local favorite. The diner is run by a small crew so things move a little slow but the food is well worth the wait! We enjoy the breakfast menu and I love the coffee! There isn't a bad menu option to choose from and the fact that I've seen many local regulars at the diner come back time after time is a testament that the Beacon Diner is the place where you'll always find a good meal and a place to meet up with friends for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner! I highly recommend you give it a try but whatever you do don't go on a Tuesday because they're closed on Tuesdays. :-). My wife and I had breakfast at the Beacon today, Sept. 25, 2025. We were greeted warmly by Ms, Gerry who pointed out the specials and was very helpful in finding us a table to our liking. She also brought us coffee and menus. Our server - Annie - appeared shortly thereafter and took our orders. She was friendly, courteous and helpful. She knew the menu very well. Our food arrived in a reasonable length of time. It was hot and quite good. We just had basic breakfast - my wife had a cheese omelet and french fries, I had two eggs, sausage and home fries. It was all properly cooked and quite tasty. Throughout the course of our meal Annie was attentive without being intrusive and took very good care of us. Overall we had a very good experience and we are looking forward to eating there again. My only complaint - and this is minor - is I thought the side of sausage was a little pricey. $4.75 for two good sized pieces. However, they were good. We look forward to going there again. Beacon 443 is a more a diner than a restaurant. If that's your expectation than it's about an average American diner: inexpensive, LOTS of menue options, greasy food that's pretty good, and non-greasy food that's edible, but definitely below average. The perogies, poutine, and French onion soup were pretty good - especially the French onion soup. On the other hand, the meat loaf was a little dry, the mash potatoes a little bland, and the green beans somehow were uneatable. The waitress was attentive and very friendly, but clearly had not had the formal training that you might expect at a place like Cracker Barrel. The restaurant wasn't disgusting, but could have used a deep cleaning. If you're looking for a Restaurant or home style cooking, I'd go elsewhere, but if you're looking for something with lots of options, inexpensive food, and/or typical "diner" food, than this is a good option. read more

More like a 2.5. I can't say that I was all that excited to have breakfast/lunch at 443 but with limited options, you take what you can get. Walking in, I just felt like they need a serious deep cleaning, like steam and scrub every surface three times. You know that when it feels like your feet are sticking to the floor, that feeling. My partner thinks they had the same decor from when he was a kid. Maybe I was in a time-warp? The menu is a six pager of everything under the sun. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Milkshakes, the works. Which always makes me leery, have a few things and do them well. Then again, this is a diner so... I got a Ham & Swiss Club which was fine. Can you really mess up a club. Partner had an omelette and scrapple (ugh) and he inhaled it. Guess he enjoyed it. Server was just ok, dropped the food and rolled out, never came to check on us. Overall, I guess the locals like it but I'll try another place when I'm in Lehighton. read more

This is nowhere near a Jersey style diner. Lot's of locals...of the creepy kind. Food is subpar. Stopped here for breakfast on our way to a tree hunt in PA. They were overwhelmed by the amount of people being seated (60 of us alone). They did a good job of making it very convenient and being prepared. Food did take a while but it was expected. Eggs were ok. Sausage was fowl. Had one bite only. Pancakes were of the package kind (I could still taste the powder). But hey, it's a diner in PA...what would I expect. Waitresses were all friendly. There's really not that many options in the Carbon County area to eat as far as diners. The food is just ok. Nothing a little salt can't fix. Outdated decor. Waitresses are nice though. They are in a great location, but doesn't look like they are investing in it. Stopped in for breakfast. 10 minutes before anyone took my order, should have left right then. About 20 minutes later no food and the staff is telling people it's a 40 minute wait. 10 minutes later people who came in after me are eating. I ask my waitress about my food, it's coming right out. 10 more minutes I ask a different waitress about my food, there's 5 tickets in front if me? How can that be I asked, was told that's how it us. Lived here over 4 years and this was only my second.......and LAST visit here. As many have mentioned, service here is really slow but that would be ok if the food was great. It's not. I had my diner favorite, eggs benedict with hash browns. I should have noticed when the waitress said "hash brown" and not "hash brownS". What arrived was one of those cheap frozen hash brown patties, a little crispy on the top, soggy on the bottom. Their idea of hollandaise sauce is odd, not terrible, just odd. This is the second (and last) time we will ever eat at this restaurant. I understand that places can be packed over major holidays, but that's where proper management and staffing arrangements come into play to ensure the customer doesn't suffer. The three of us came in at 11:45 and ordered lunch: Two turkey club sandwiches and a ruben with french fries. It wasn't until about 1:20 before the server approached us and said the food was coming up. At that point, I was opting to just leave - but we were catching up with friends so waiting a little longer did not seem to be an issue. I felt sorry for the customers who came in after us that had children! The food was nothing to write home about - it was clear their kitchen was slammed, as the French Fries were made in bulk, and dumped in a pan - mine were warm. The service was nothing you'd expect from a restaurant, but the lack of communication, eagerness to pass us by to avoid giving us some type of update made the experience worse. The first time I was there, I came alone and ordered breakfast. The hostess placed me in a corner table, where the server did not recognize I was waiting to order for about 20 minutes. When my simple order of Eggs, Toast, and bacon came out, I received bacon from the bottom of the pan; greasy and burnt. I didn't leave them a tip then and I didn't leave a tip this time around, it is the responsibility of the servers to ask themselves: if they ordered the food, and it came out like that, would I eat it? Apparently not - because the server at that time quickly dropped my food off and went on to the next table. If you are offered to eat at the Beacon, kindly pass. There are other great restaurants which have prompt service and food cooked properly... McDonalds, Subway, and even the Gas Station across the Street has a better reputation for quality and service than this restaurant. read more

Diners are few and far between where I am.. this place is far enough for me and I've given it the benefit of the doubt most of the time, but I've had enough of the clueless cook, so i've boycotted . Some entrees are o.k., but chef cannot cook eggs to suit for the life of him. *everytime* without fail, my eggs have been 'over easy' when I ask for 'over medium' .. they show up with the disgusting clear gook and extremely runny. Being desperate for place to cook me breakfast on the run, i've tried to switch to 'omelets' ... they are cooked at such high temps, that the entire ends of the omelette are fried up and disgusting. yet, the center of the omelette is, yet again, clear and slimy like it wasn't cooked enough. they need a new breakfast chef. enough said. I highly advise you stay away from this place. The service was extremely slow. We waited over and hour to get our food and the food came out FROZEN. They do not use any sort of fresh ingredients, everything is just completely frozen and then microwaved. Once our frozen food arrived, it took another 20 minutes to get someone to pay attention to us to re-microwave our food. During this whole time, our server never once checked in on us. For a diner, this place is a dream! My friends and I were camping up the street and woke up STARVING in the rain. After gearing up, our yelp app led us here. We got seated right away at a cozy (and dry) table in the corner. The place isn't necessarily beautiful, but what diner is?!?!? We each ordered coffee and water, so our waitress gave herself a break, and hooked us up with a pitcher of each. Smart move on her part. We each ordered starters and then egg dishes, and every single thing we had was delicious. I went for the Fried Pickles as a starter and the 4 spears were delicious, as was the dipping sauce. For my entree, had a broccoli/cheddar omelette and i loved the option of the hash brown. I wish it was cooked a bit longer as it was very lightly fried, but man... that compared to home fries? There's just no comparison. My rye toast was toasty and buttered and my eggs were delish and they sure didn't skimp on the cheese. I also have to throw some love to our waitress. We were there for A WHILE and she was really entertaining the whole time. Very sweet and approachable, and she had an awesome sense of humor. I really enjoyed her, and she was on her A-Game too. As others have stated the service here is really slow, but the food isn't all that bad. The only problem I had with the food was the portion size seemed to be on the smaller side, however if you order any of the specialty fries you will get your fill. I prefer the cajun fries, they seem to have multiple seasonings added to the cajun spice, napkins are needed. They also come with a special sauce, which is really hard to describe the taste of. The dessert menu consisted mostly of pies, the one I had was kind of bland. While the service was slow, our waitress was still friendly. The only other downfall is the overall location. The parking lot is rather small, so if the place is really busy parking can be quite a challenge. read more

It was Not blackened. It had light Cajun salt on the chicken and a soggy, greasy bun. This bun would have stuck to the ceiling if we threw it up. The air conditioning was turned down so low our lukewarm food became cold less than 5 minutes after we received it. The buffalo chicken tenders had entirely too much sauce on them, and they were incredibly soggy. I only ate half and didn't bother to take the rest to go. The waitress told the manager what happened, but the manager never came by the table to ask what was wrong or if she could do anything to fix it. I wasn't looking for free food, but an apology would have been nice. The service was mediocre at best. The waitress was nice enough, but not really personable and had limited knowledge of the menu and alternate options. The only good thing about our meal was the dessert, they have excellent chocolate cake with peanut butter icing. We might be back for dessert, but never again for a meal. read more

Very bad time here went for dinner ordered a bacon egg and chesse omlet homfries with no Onions and white toast the only thing right was the toast. They but ham instead on bacon in the omlet and put onions in the homfries. When i went back i wanted a refund because of the review and comments on the place asked for a refund and was refused i guess they lost a customer. read more
