We had brunch at Broadway Grille this past weekend. There were six of us, including 2 kids. Our server was nice and very accomodating. Unfortunately, the food was just not great. I ordered the avocado toast and there was like, a teaspoon of avocado (tasted like packaged guacamole lol) on each slice of toast. The eggs were overcooked as well and weren't overeasy. No big deal. However, my husband's eggs benedict... there was a giant piece (like over an inch) of egg shell in the food. Yuck :( The coffee was fine, prices were fine. We went two separate days, and got two different servers each time, that both did not come to our tables but maybe two times. Thankfully, the hostess/busser was very polite and helpful. 10/4/25 We were in town for the fall festival and stopped in for breakfast. It was crazy busy, after about 30mins we got a high table by the bar. Becasue there was only 1 bartender, we had to wait a long time for the bartender to come take our order. During a rush like this they should have a wait staff for this section instead of relying on the bartender to serve as wait staff. Anyways, the food was good. Stopped in for lunch because it was cold out and I saw chicken pot pie on the menu posted outside. Turns out the menu was out of date and it's no longer on the menu. Grrrr! So, I had a cup of creamy chicken soup and a short rib grilled check with house made chips. The soup came promptly. It was very good, but not hot. That was discouraging. The sandwich, however was amazing. No shortage of beef, delicious bread, perfectly toasted. And their chips are amazing! I'll always take chips over an upgrade to fries. We recently dined at Broadway Grille and unfortunately, it was a disappointing experience from start to finish. First, I was quite surprised--and frankly annoyed--to be charged $2 to taste the wine before ordering a glass. While tasting wine can sometimes be complimentary, this fee felt cheap and unexpected, and I was shocked to see it on the bill. The service was inconsistent; since we sat outside on the balcony, our server was often hard to catch, and I felt rushed to place my order before he disappeared again. As for the food, it was largely disappointing. I ordered the buffalo chicken salad, and the chicken on top arrived ice cold. My partner's chicken pot pie was also served cold. The only thing that was hot was the kids' meals, which initially came out so hot that our daughter didn't want to eat it right away. Overall, most of the meal was underwhelming--cold food, questionable service, and surprise charges. The one bright spot was sitting outside on the balcony; we really enjoyed the view and the fresh air. It's a shame because we love this hotel and have recommended it to visiting family many times. The panini had a great flavor, fresh ingredients (cheese, roasted peppers, spinach & eggplants). We also had the crispy chicken sandwich, it was over fried-you could use it as an instrument, couldn't pick up any flavor since it was fried for too long. Then as a second drink we ordered two espresso martinis, they're perfect big both had great flavor but they added some sort whip cream on top and it just didn't go with the drink, it got a little harden so it was a little hard to drink and push the whipped cream away. Me and my family stopped in for a recent lunch after a train ride (only a few blocks walk from the train station and public parking lot). You'll love the buildings outside cast iron balconies and the location in the downtown provides for some nice family photos! We found the inside to have plenty of seating and a family friendly environment. The host/hostess had us seated quickly. The noise levels on the inside were not bad at all. Our server was friendly, great with my sons and stopped by often to check on us. I thought they had a solid craft beer list with a good mix of styles. The wife had a Mad Elf and I drank a Broadway Pale Ale by Lost Tavern (Hellertown, PA) for $6. You can get a flight of four beers for $16. For dessert we both had a Lone Pine Holy Donut Dark Chocolate Peppermint Stout that was a perfect brew for a cold winter day. For an appetizer we tried the Lamb Lollipops - Three lamb lollipops grilled to medium rare, finished with a balsamic drizzle $16 - they had some fat to the outside, meat was a bit chewy, but flavor wise they were tasty. I would have preferred them to be more tender. I took the servers recommendation and ordered a Chicken Pot Pie - $23 - Sauteed diced chicken breast with celery, carrots, onions and peas in a hearty chicken gravy, baked inside a flaky pie crust. Served with a house salad. I was offered a Caesar or house, went with the Caesar and that was a meal itself! The pot pie is apparently made fresh daily and has a bit of a following with the restaurant. Some black pepper gave it spice and oomph. There was nothing exotic about it, but it was just a good winter meal. My mother and wife had crab cake sandwiches and gave thumbs up. My youngest said good for the kids chicken fingers, but my oldest was a bit upset with the choices of cheese on the grilled cheese. He didn't like them using multiple cheeses and wish they just went with American. Meals for the kids came in at $8. He made up for that disappointment by ordering a Root Beer Float for dessert which he reported as delicious. We decided to eat at the bar . There are some high tops in the bar area . I started with a blood orange martini- it was delicious and presented beautifully. Ate here 3 times. Two for breakfast and once for dinner. The breakfast was fine I guess. Had the Eggs Benedict and the hollandaise was room temp. The kicker was dinner at the bar. Cramped place. Every time the front door opens the front of the bar gets frozen. My wife got the grilled cheese which was edible. I've been to several establishments while vacationing in Jim Thorpe but this bar is the only one I felt comfortable at, visited five times, and wanted to take the time to write a compliment. Alexis was the server/ bar tender each time I was there and I just want to say how impressed I was at how how hard she works and how pleasant her attitude always was. She's very attentive to her surroundings and obviously wants to make the customers happy. She really is outstanding. I know others agree. Unfortunately, most people only write reviews when they have a complaint; but I hope she is recognized by management for how nice she is and how hard she works! I also want to mention the food! I ordered the Underground wings on two occasions and they're super amazing! I also had spinach filled raviolis that I really enjoyed- but when I tried to order them on another visit they weren't on the menu. I was disappointed about that- but the house burger and fries was a very satisfying alternative. I don't know if I enjoyed the food or the martinis better, but it's all worth coming back for! We got lucky and were able to get a table in the bar, but we got one of the last ones at 9:15AM.
