I'm coming to this place for 18 years, and my father was using them since the nineties! David Perez is very profesional, he knows a great deal about mechanics, I like to come here when he is in, but in the last few years they hired a new employee (Luis Velez) that's very good covering for David's when he isn't in. Lately I only do minor things like oil change and rotations, but it's always good to be around decent and old known people. Thanks guys for the long and consistent services!!!! So had some issues where I thought that my radiator hose had a leak and the Jeep was overheating. I am mechanically inclined but the Jeep was a recent purchase and I am still not 100% up to speed on them (plus it's an old YJ). Either way, I was close to this shop and figured I would stop in to avoid driving it further, and possibly causing some more serious damage. The woman upfront was pleasant and I explained what was going on. She explained that she could have one of her mechanics pop his head under the hood but for a full diagnosis it would cost $80. She came back shortly after and I followed her into the bay, where she explained that I had a radiator hose leaking and that the mechanic felt that the engine was misfiring. I proceeded to ask him in Spanish since he didn't speak English why he felt the engine was misfiring. He basically spoke in circles, and explained that the radiator hose leak was probably the cause of the engine overheating. I really wasn't buying it but it was evident that their was a leak in the general area of one of the hoses not by the radiator. Finally, she came back with a quote for replacing the two hoses that probably equaled 5-6 feet in total for $189...I am not a haggler but felt that was ridiculous, so I asked a few questions and explained that the cost didn't make sense to me. That's when the owner Mr. David Perez interjected and reviewed the screen she was looking at. He then proceeded to explain that she had inputted something twice in the system and that the total without using coolant and just water would be $89.95. I agreed to proceed with the repair, and waited till it was done. When it was done I went outside to start the car and to my amazement the car wouldn't turn over at all...already pissed because I had just spent 3-4 hours of my day, I just called AAA and waited for a tow truck to arrive. Being that I was pissed I didn't bother to go back in to speak to the owner because cooler heads prevail. In the interim I tried to start the Jeep multiple times right in front of the garage and in front of the mechanic that had worked on the car. He stared at me multiple times and not one time did anyone stop and walk over to see if they could help...more importantly the mechanic that had done the repair. What adds insult to injury is that he gave me a stupid stare and seemed to be laughing at me:-(! Fast forward to the next day, I with the help of a mobile mechanic someone recommended the took a look at what was going on. The first thing he did was check to see if their was fuel flow, as he suspected with the sound the engine was making that fuel was not making it's way to the engine. Within minutes we established that the fuel gauge was messed up, and the issue was as simple as me running out of gas. I explained the experience I had at Beacon and he laughed and made a sigh of disgust. For the record David the owner, and the woman at the front were pleasant. However, I have a huge concern with the experience level of his mechanic that day. I usually don't leave comments or ratings but felt this one was warranted. I hope the owner reads this and gets something from it... During these trying times with Covid-19, where many businesses are closing their doors it's imperative, especially in the auto-repair business to go above and beyond. You never know how much repeat business you can get from one satisfied customer, and the more important "word of mouth" business that these days seems to have been forgotten. Not that it really matters or I demand preferential treatment, I did mention that I was in the military to the woman upfront. I just hope none of my brothers and sisters in arms out there have a similar experience like the one I had. read more

The best part about this place is its proximity to my job. It's down the street, so I can have a co-worker take me, I drop off my car and go back to work. I have taken my Volvo several times for an oil & filter change and every time it has been a success. The associates in the front are very helpful as are the mechanics who call me. Every single time, they call and tell you what they are about to do, the cost, and offer any other services they believe your vehicle needs. Last week I got new windshield wipers... and they are excellent. I would definitely recommend this place if you are in the Doral area. read more

I took my car for a quote in March and coming out find my car had been dented and damaged. After the owners David Perez and Rosi giving me the run-around for 2 weeks they tell me they are not going to fix the damages since they couldn't find conclusive evidence. Ofcourse, they are being shady to not fix my BMW since it will be costly. I am taking this to the BBB and Napa's Corp. Never doing business with unprofessionals at this location in the future. read more

Mike the manager is a liar and dishonest. My husband and I dropped our car off with the manager, Mike at 4:30 to get an estimate which he said he would do in 20 minutes and give me a call. So I left him with the keys and gave him my number. I came back one hour later and nothing had been even looked at on my car. Mike was gone for the day and the person who was there didn't even know about my car. On top of that, afterwards I called to talk it over with the owner and the receptionist told me "you need to hold!" And put me on hold before taking my call. I don't mind so much being put on hold, but she was so rude about it. This is really bad service and they will never have my business. read more

This is the first time I have visited Beacon. I found them through Yelp. I chose them because they have good reviews, fairly close to home, and a great coupon that expired the same day of my service. I took the car in for a synthetic oil change. This oil service is always expensive. But got a great deal with the coupon! I arrived and they took my car in right away, as I waited in doors in an air conditioned office. I experienced overall very good customer service! I'm planning on returning for future car services. Very expensive, unprofessional and very dishonest about how long the job will take in terms of repairs. I had a car worked on and they said it would be done that day, then it was another repair that was needed and I wasn't told that until I spend all day in office waiting. Not clear at all with what was going on with my car. Never break down in this area. I would recommend searching for a different mechanic for actual repairs. read more

Stole the rims from my mustang they were crome they change it for silver the difference is about 400 dollars. I went for brakes job he said I can't take the car out of his place becuase the tires where rotten. He wanted me to live the car all day there and go get it next day. He insisted on getting new tires becasue old mine where really bad it took to them all day to do that. I got the car late in the dark couldn't check the rims. Not expecting that after paying almost 1000 for brakes and tires. So tire of sitting in there for 7 hours that took to fix the brakes and the tires. I am hot blonde not blinde. Even as a relatively new customer, I can safely say that Beacon Auto Care is where I will be solving all my automotive problems. I have been to other auto shops, and after giving Beacon a try, I realized how much I was being ripped off by other companies. Firestone once tried to charge me $20 for a visual inspection and $100 for check engine light. I then took my car to Beacon and spoke to David, the owner, about my problem. He said he'll have one of the technicians take a look at my car. When I ask how much it would cost for the visual inspection. When he tells me it's free, I tell him about my experience with Firestone and gives me a confused look and says "What for? It doesn't cost us anything to look at it." Also, the check engine light costs $70, which is a small example of the price difference between Beacon and big name corporations. It's a great, homey family-oriented business that really seems to be concerned for the customer's satisfaction. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone who doesn't want to pay any more than they have to for reliable auto repair and great service. read more

Found this little gem in the Doral area since it was close to work. At first, I was having issues with a transmission leak on my Mustang and they worked with me and options to drop it, flush it and replace all seals and gaskets. This worked. While the transmission was out, they replaced the engine rear main seal which I had known was leaking for some time. When I got new Falkens I made the mistake of going to a popular tire shop chain (not going to say names here) I left the tire shop real upset because they didn't balance the rear tires. I had deep dish rims (10 inch wide) and the tireshop gave me some b.s. excuse that rear tires don't need balancing. I went to Beacon since I knew they are not full of bull. I had them properly balance the tires with sticky weights and I caught up on other maintenance to protect my investment on my tires. They replaced the front struts, front tire alignment, and it rode like a dream thereafter. Even after I traded in my Mustang for a 350Z, I ended up going to Beacon. I went to a Nissan dealer (leaving name out) to fix/replace my warped brake rotors and they gave me a b.s. excuse that I had a bent rim. Not going there again. Took the car to Beacon and they proved that I didn't have a bent rim. Beacon changed my brake rotors without issue or any marks on my beautiful Brembo calipers. I continued to take my car there for additional maintenance, i.e. oil changes, especially when Nissan uses standard mineral-based oil. Where at Beacon you can choose to have synthetic blend or full synthetic. At a premium, but it's a nice option. I like the friendly and knowledgeable staff in the front desk. I trust their work, professionalism, and knowledge that I even take my parents' cars there. Thanks, Mike! read more
