Really mixed feeling about this Goodwill! I've been perusing and pursuing secondhand stores long before they became a trendy thing of the present, and I'm not sure why this Goodwill made me feel some kind of way. Seeing the overflow of extremely, larger than dumpster sized trash carriers, overflowing with clothing and other stuff gave me a realization: some of the stuff I'm touching (and considering purchasing) has been sitting in those bins for a minute- a long minute- through inclement weather, gross infestations, and whatever other grossly things my mind really doesn't want to think about. If you can find a $2 treasure, sure, it's a great deal compared to the Goodwill stores and yes, buying recycled goods is helping the environment, but let's be honest- I don't know who is considerate of the environment over their own selfish desires of consumerism. Anyway---- I probably won't return for the simple fact of being told to "stand behind the yellow line", "Stand behind the black line" during my shopping experience- then given instructions about how and when to approach the newly swapped out bin. Felt like I was treated like some kind of criminal in a prison experiment. I've never been in prison, but imagined this Goodwill closely resembled what I imagined it might be like (if there was a prison for Goodwill shoppers). read more

Prices have increased. I included a pic of the new prices. The day I was there they only switched out the clothing bins. The hard good bins were never switched out and I was there just under 3 hours. I have no interest in clothing and only enjoy looking at the knick knacks so that was a bummer. My very least favorite outlet bin store. The employees keep zero tolerance of customers. There is a specific customer base here that hoards all the carts alllll day. They also don't keep any order when it comes to the refreshed bins. Everyone runs and then the other customers literally will dig in front of me and pull stuff out from in front of me and then also rude ladies on the other side of me dumps stuff in front of me. At least other bin stores tell customers to be polite and no running otherwise they will be asked to leave. This store needs to adapt those rules. This store has an awful awful environment read more

Was in the area so decided to check it out. I've been to the clothing by the pound Goodwill in Santa Ana but this was a little different All items are $1 and it is like a big sorting area where you can just dig in and see what you find! Beware, when the workers bring out new items to add to the sorting bins, it's like the running of the bulls with everyone scrambling to get first picks. Also it not the tidiest place & I learned that I should've planned my exit--allow at least 15 - 30 min to get through the checkout line. & also be prepared to park around the block or down the street. read more

Been shopping there for a couple of years and was very satisfied. Very recently the BINS has changed its procedures. Shoppers are constantly interrupted (every 15-20 minutes) and made to stand aside while the employees shift the tables. More time is spent watching the shifting table activities than in focused sifting through the offerings. It is no long a productive use of my time. I, for one, am very disappointed. read more

Smaller than the other per lb/ bins places i have been to. It is organized pretty well on the tables. There is a variety of items ranging from kids, adults clothing and shoes. The pricing specials and prices are clearly advertised so that there he no misunderstanding. Would recommend this place to visit and as any bins place consistency is key! read more

It's as the other reviews say, lots of people with poor manners and overall reminds me of the stereotypical black Friday shoppers who push and shove and throw clothes everywhere. Bins are changed out regularly, I want to say every 20-30minutes and they only change half of the bins at a time so theres time to get around to them all. People will run up right away just to get first grabs at the fresh items but a lot will end up being thrown back in the bins later. I preferred to stay out of other peoples way until then and I still got a decent amount of good quality items. $1 a piece is worth the uncomfortable glares and shoving, but its not an experience for the timid. In terms of staffing, I think they're doing their best for the environment that it is, didn't have bad experiences with any workers or the location itself. read more

The majority of the customers here are nice, but some are too darn aggressive. Running, pushing and grabbing anything with no respect for others. They will shove you just to grab an item and then pretend to not understand English when you call them out for being rude. I think there should be a no kid under 12 policy like in Texas because some customers bring their kids and let them run around opening things, play with the item and then throw it back in with pieces all over the place or even worse they have their poor babies laying on the ground on dirty blankets for hours while they shop. Often times there is broken glass or sharp objects that is very dangerous for anyone to touch, but especially the little kids. Some cashiers are nice, but some are rude. One particular male cashier with dark hair and unpleasant face never smiles or greets you even when you try to be nice to him. He wouldn't give me a bag for my items so I asked to buy one and he wanted to charge me $2 which is totally ridiculous! There is a fight or argument almost every time I'm here. Lots of iffy people around so make sure to not leave valuables in your car. I was sitting in the backseat of my car going through my stuff and some idiot stood by my car and urinated.....please bring sanitizer, wear gloves and wash your hands. read more

Some decent finds typical of goodwills. Furniture prices are high and not typical of what you would normally see at a goodwill store. The staff could have been more professional, they seemed a little off. All in all, I love a goodwill store so obviously I would recommend it to anyone to pop in and see what you can find read more

Very different. Around the corner from the goodwill is where they sell bins and if you go down to the next door, they have "tables" of clothes you can dig thru. Each clothing item is a buck. It's their last chance items. We got 9 shirts, a brand new with tags TYR swimsuit (original 79.00) and four CDs for a grand total of $11.00. You do have to sort thru tables and every 20 mins or so they switch out a whole row of tables. Not the best of items but you can find some decent things. Would come back. read more

The pricing is great but the power tripping employee was awful. Never before have I been asked to pay for the items in my small basket while we waited for the bin change. I had 8 small items in a basket! That's hardy considered hoarding. Very interesting place. The main focus here is old clothes for sale. Cash Only. They have 4 auctions a day and they are auctioning bins with clothes and other miscellaneous stuff. They do not auction furniture or any other big items. The auction times are 9:00 am, 1030 am, 1230 pm and 230 pm. I have seen the bins sell from a low as $20 to $160 on the day I attended. Attendees get a chance to rummage through the bins to decide what they seem is a fair auction price. They get 15 minutes before the auction time to investigate . The hot items are clothing and baby strollers. You can purchase last chance furniture for $5 but it tends to be a little beat up and it's not part of the auction process. This store is not my thing but they seem very organized and helpful to new comers. Hope this write-up makes you a more aware thrift shop buyer. read more

Very very bad management especially from Alex second manager . He is extremely aggressive with new people I've witnessed him kick out older women just for getting sometimes clothes . Manu cases they are new and don't know the rules . anyways he and his employees keep stuff and sell he is aware of it but doesn't do anything . He is one of the main reason the place is so corrupt . He kicked me out while the shoes were being taken out because he supposedly saw me grab shoes and put them in my bag . Keep in mind people were fighting for a bag he doesn't kick out people who he is cool with . I've seen him only pick people he doesn't like or people who don't look aggressive I wish I could get help reporting him to corporate and get this place with new managers employees etc place is very corrupt. read more

This place is quiet intimidating for a petite girl, even one who is experienced in thrifting. There's no parking lot and trucks and vans lining the street so at first I thought there were no individual bin/item area. Once that's settled there are crowds of about 15 people waiting behind the chained line while staff switch the bins before the craziness begins. While I did find a top and bottom for $1.20, I wouldn't say it was worth the trip as this place is quiet tucked away. I highly recommend the Santa Ana Goodwill Outlet instead as there is the outlet center that is more inviting and a regular store and electronics store next to it. read more

Yikes what can I say about this place? I went to the outlet store in Glendale and had a blast. I found so many great deals out there that I thought I'm going to try the Long Beach store. I was quite disappointed, be prepared to get dirty to sweat to have pushy rude people shoving you and grabbing what's in your hand like it was their last meal on this Earth. PROS: Plenty of parking, only 99 cents a pound for clothes, and 50 cents for hard goods. CONS: Very dusty, poor lighting, no cashier/customer service, most of the clothes had steins, holes, a few were wet, and there weren't many good brands. There's also a group of resellers that hoard the bins all day and are not beyond pushing and shoving. Maybe if you could figure out what days/times they aren't there you might find some decent items. read more

Love going to this place. But of course it's hit or miss. Sometimes you luck out, sometimes you don't. Employees are normal, it's hot, it's dusty. Give them their space and let them do their job. They're not there for your happiness, they're there to get a job done. There's a lot of older ladies and stand around and pick at stuff for what seems like all day. All in all, I walked out with 4 pairs of uniform tights, and 3 uniform skirts for my daughter, all practically new.... and a bunch of other junk, and spent $5.04. I am an avid thrifter and am not afraid to get my hands dirty! I drive past this every day on my way to work and I finally stopped by yesterday afternoon It's located behind the goodwill store/ offices which is easy to find if you're turning in at the light on PCH then follow the road to the left. Being my first time there and going alone I gotta admit I was nervous. When I walked in I felt like everyone was looking at me as if I walked into the wrong place..... I asked a nice man if I was not supposed to be there and we both seemed confused, he then asked me if I was looking for the last chance deals and I said yes and he assured me I was in the right place. I informed him it was my first time there and he kindly explained how it all works. The blue bins are sold at auctions as well as any pallets with furniture, however, any furniture that is on it's own is for sale at any time along with tables to the left that are sold by the pound. I got the most amazing deal on a slightly dirty mid century modern chair for $4, FOUR DOLLARS!!!!!!!!! which cleaned up EASILY and I can't wait to come back to their excellent service and too good to be true deals! read more

Whenever my friends and I would go on road trips up north, we'd always try and stop at the clothing-by-the-pound thrift store in Santa Cruz. Until we found out we had the same thing in our very own town of Long Beach. The only downside of this location is they seem to close somewhat early. The last few times I've gone they've either been closed or in the process of closing and ask us to leave before we can make any purchases. read more

My first time at the bins... Quite the intimidating place when looking at it from the outside. The street is run down and the place is a dusty warehouse. There's a wide open dock in front that you enter through. You'll feel like you're not supposed to be there, but nope this is the place you're looking for. And if you have anxiety like me, maybe you'll sit in your car for 10 minutes waiting for someone else to walk in first lol. You'll see bins up for auction when you first walk in. If you're looking for stuff by the pound, keep walking straight and those bins are at the far end. They have laundry bins and storage containers for you to use as shopping baskets. All the stuff is mixed... some items may be wet. Will definitely be wearing gloves next time! Would suggest wearing a face mask if you're sensitive to dust as well. They switch out the bins every so often; Make sure you back up so they can do their job. The workers were fine- very busy. Lighting is dim, but it's probably cuz it'd be really hot and stuffy in there if lights were on. I was there for maybe 30 minutes and ended up getting 2 tops and 2 sweaters for $6.41. *Price per pound is $1.49 as of November 2017. *Not a kid friendly environment. read more

I have an eBay store and sell mostly pre-owned clothing. Due to this, I have been to Goodwill Outlets (bins) all over the country - Denver, Nashville, Orlando, Las Vegas and others in CA - so I know what to expect. It's dirty and dusty, employees and other customers are sometimes rude - this is just what you should expect going to Goodwill Outlets. The Long Beach auction house is on another level of disappointing. We show up Saturday after both auctions have taken place, and we ask what time the auctions are. We find out that they are at 830am and 1230pm daily. So we go back on Sunday and get there before they open at 8am so we can be prepared for the auction. We pay the $5 auction entrance fee, get our paddle and a rundown of how the auction process works from the cashier. Then the bidding begins! The bins of clothing were going for $80 starting price. Since this is our first trip, we wanted to buy just 1 bin to make sure ROI is worth it. We picked the bin we wanted, and we placed the $80 opening bid. No one outbid us, but then the "auctioneer" told us that the other people get the bins for $80 because they "buy the bins in bulk", and proceeds to tell us that our cost will be $130 - a whopping $50 more! Um....that's not how auctions work. There's an opening bid and the highest bid wins. Well, Long Beach Auction house, you win, this Gringa will never return, however, I will be informing your corporate office of your discrimination. Note: even if you are going for personal shopping, I'd recommend the outlet in Santa Ana. We went there after the nightmare experiment in Long Beach and it was great! read more

Terrible! I was around the area and decided to check this place out just out of curiosity and wow never expected it to be such a dump. The moment you walk in all eyes on you, the bad lighting for this dump just makes being here more depressing than what it already is. Such a gloomy atmosphere. There was an area of junk i was just looking through in bins and some old man working there said we couldn't look in that section. He was basically organizing trash and beat up shoes and said ''No' like dude where are the signs the clothing bins that sell by the pound were freaking empty! what am i suppose to look at. The Vending machine advertises Dasani water but gave me a Deja Blue watter bottle not a big Deal but for a $1.25 idk. Would not come here unless it is for an auction and then again is that crap even worth it? The bad lighting and basically no management and lack of signs in the area earns this place a 1 star even though it deserves none. read more

If I could leave zero stars I would. Despite being one of the few places that sell clothing by the pound for a super low price...it is really not worth your time. Unlike the outlets in Santa Ana and San Franciso, this place is a complete dump. To begin, the manager, Darla is horrible at her job and blatantly plays favorites and reserves good things for her friends and family...she should be fired! Im appalled that Goodwill lets this awful witch work for their company, she makes them look bad. When I arrived here, i noted several signs everywhere stating that no one under 18 was allowed in, there was one small sign that stated no open toed shoes were allowed. I didn't see that sign until after my dear mother was asked to leave by the manager due to her inappropriate shoes and we had to go around the corner to buy her some ugly crocs just so we could shop in the warehouse. What irked me most about t his was the fact that when she scolded my mother, there were three girls in flip flops shopping in the warehouse that she did not ask to leave. There was also a little girl aged about six or so running around the warehouse. What a hypocrite! Then, we were looking in the bins and were asked to stand behind a line while they switched the clothing out for new clothing, however there was hardly any clothing put out! So we looked around and found nothing all that great except a shirt that I wanted to buy as a joke...so I went to the register and as rudely informed that everyone was on break and would be back in "five minutes." So about 10 minutes pass and the cashier comes to ring me up...she was the only good thing about this dump, she was really nice. Overall, don't waste your time at this dump...even if it is further away for you, it is worth it to go to the goodwill industries outlet in Santa Ana on Fairview street...the real good deals are there. read more

Unless you're a swap meet vendor or online seller, don't waste your time. This really is the last stop for all the picked over stuff that GW couldn't sell. Clothes are sold by the pound.Yes, they do have bins that are auctioned off twice a day. But honestly, does any one person need a bin of anything?? I have sold online for a few years and I had no idea this place was so close by. The pound is 2.29 and the auction bins go from 50$ and up they have 2 auctions an 8:30 and a 12:00. They used to be closed on Sunday but they recently started opening up again. A lot of people buy auction items to sell at swapmeet n stuff. You just get an overall better deal for your money that way apparently. They have tables were you can buy by pound. I have see some items that I would personally need and pay hard cold cash for eg " Brita water filters " and the came out to about 4$ for 10 !!!! It's the luck of the draw some days they have treasures and some days they don't. It is a warehouse so you need closed toe shoes. And it is dusty. But the people seem nice they do ask everyone to stand back when they reload table during the day but it is obviously a safety precaution. I do not recommend taking children it is not a toddler friendly environment forklifts and pallet jacks are constantly moving back an forth the entire time. They open @8 close @4:30 read more

I am quite familiar with goodwill outlets. I often frequent the amazing outlets near my parents place wen i visit them in indiana. Maybe I'm just spoiled by those outlets but this place is disgusting! First, this outlet is located in a very sketchy area of town. This outlet is in an actual warehouse. Most of the space is occupied by boxes on boxes of different categories of items that are sold via auction. In the far corner of the warehouse is a small area dedicated to items sold by the pound. These items are dumped in bins and laundry bins are supplied for you to put your finds in. Don't get me wrong, I have no problem digging in bins, I am quite familiar with this process and have no issue with it. But the outlet and merchandise are beyond disgusting. I took a quick look around and had to leave. When I got in the car, I looked down and saw a black bug on my hand(looked like a bed bug!). I'm so glad I didn't buy anything, I couldn't imagine the type of bug infestation I would be bringing home. I really do not recommend anyone, just for sanitary reasons. This place was quite the disappointment :( really looked forward to digging for treasure but I probably spent a total of 2 minutes in the place. SHOP AT YOUR OWN RISK! read more
