Great place for karaoke! I was in the mood do try out my singing skills and found this place. I met the owner, and he's a great guy. He's owned the place for decades and very personable. The bartenders are great guys. I had the opportunity to meet Caleb, Gabe, Chase, and Lance and they all worked quickly and were very approachable. Righteous dudes. At the time, they had $1.00 draughs and $9.00, I think. That's a smokin' deal bro Gabby usually does karaoke and does a phenomenal job. Very cool person, easy to approach, and makes it easy to get song requests in. I got to meet her and she's down to earth and nice. The bouncer Chris may look tough, but he has a heart of gold. He's there to help, but ready to take care of business, as needed. They have 2 pool tables and slots if I remember correctly. Also, they have a fenced in front patio with tables and chairs if you need a smokey treat or fresh air. They also have a room that's separate from the noise with one of the pool tables and it's good if you just want to chill. Overall, you can expect a younger crowd in Friday and Saturdays. They do karaoke everyday, 7 days a week, and it starts at 9:00 PM. Their busiest times seem to be between 9:00 - 11:00 PM but that could be tentative based on what's going on. Absolutely disgusted with how we were treated by Jestin the karaoke guy last night. my friend asked for an artist they ended up not having (apparently this was requested prior to us coming in as well) his response was coming to toss the paper back at my friend to tell him they didn't have it. we didnt hear what he said so I went up to the sign up area to ask what he said, he snaps at me because it had been requested and he told other people already they didn't have it. I asked why he was being so rude and he shakes his tip pitcher in my face. Who does that? Why would I tip you for a service that was so poorly executed and I didn't even get to use yet. We bicker back and fourth because I didn't appreciate that 4 inches from my face. We go to ask for a manager and pay our tab to leave. get told there is no management there tonight. So we pay and go to leave and he went out before us to vape. Then proceeds to mumble as we are leaving. Real professional. We bickered again. Security guy got involved then accused my friend of coming in with minors which had no relevance to him coming with me that night. This place has been around as long as I can remember. It's usually a great time. On an average night or a weekend even New Year's Eve and Halloween! We love it all at the beacon. It's not thriving for a reason though. Aside from them not recognizing people who support their business often, He is a main reason. Never pleasant but last night was the worst. Maybe 20 people in the bar it wasn't that busy but then he takes it to Facebook to whine about the interaction he caused to go south. Mentioning people "come in on tue or wed and get special treatment because they are one of 3 people in the bar" but we are "entitled" for wanting basic customer service skills on a Friday when they are "slammed". All we wanted was to ask what he said and pick another song. The Two bartenders are always sweet. Environment usually welcoming and chill but he is An embarrassment of a rep for your company. Popped in here for a drink on a spontaneous girls night of bar hoping, we were pleasantly surprised and ended up staying there the rest of the evening. Apparently this is Lincoln's karaoke bar, living here so long I feel like I should've known that, anyway, they had karaoke that night and the KJ James made sure we all got a chance to sing and cheered us on. The place has those old school song binders but he was also able to find nearly every song we requested even if it wasn't in there. I wish I could remember the two bartenders names because they were epic and put up with us even our rowdy group and kept needing shots. We had a blast and met a lot of interesting people. I don't go downtown much but I will definitely be going here again. read more

This is a true dive bar sort of place - came in for a night of karaoke. It was clear that there is a normal, regular crowd that shows up by the song rotation. It wasn't that busy though, so we were able to get a few songs in. Drink selections were on par with other divy sorts of joints and prices were reasonable. The bartender seemed utterly bored but managed to keep a decent tab on us. Overall an ok experience. I'd certainly hop back in for karaoke again if I was in the area - but probably wouldn't recommend it for anything other than that. read more

Bartenders are great. I always get amazing service when I come in. I don't get up to do karaoke often but it's a fun and safe atmosphere if you ever feel like being ballsy and partaking. Something has not been sitting well with me for a while now. There have been a handful of times now where I have come in and it's somewhat busy. Anytime it's busy (weekdays and weekends) you see the bartender running their ass off behind the bar (and doing great I may add) while the owners wife (she usually works the earlier shift in the night) either sits at the bar chatting and drinking with customers or she's playing the bank shot machines and not helping at all. If you're going to run a bar you have to be willing to jump in and help your bartenders or hire an actual manager who knows how to actually run operations when Bo isn't around. I can't support a place where the ownership (even if it's just half) doesn't support the employees when they need it most. read more

A complete dump. I have fun playing the occasional game of pool here, but everything else sucks. Highest priced drinks you can imagine! They have no business charging these prices for being such a shithole. I paid over $6 for a measly Jager bomb. They hose you on beer, too! And they are usually dead, even on Saturday night. Not to mention the constant talentless karaoke. My friends and I have pumped hundreds of dollars into the pool table and the owner (Bo) is still nothing but a prick upon hearing our complaints. This bar was not friendly at all. A woman was yelling at another customer to "suck my d***" and this upset me immensely. It disrupted my ability to mutually have a good time with my family and friends. The bartender took my drink away when it was half full. Will not return. read more

Came twice while in lincoln. This is probably the only legit karaoke lounge in town. Every night is karaoke. Song selection is pretty good. Sound is pretty good. Drinks are cheap. Pool table is just a $1 per game... what more could you ask for?????? read more

Went here on Friday with my wife and friends for some karaoke. We were visiting from outa town and had seen some negative reviews on here but decided to give it a try since we wanted to be around the haymarket area. It didnt look like much from the outside but once inside it was a nice setup and a lot of space and nooks to feel like you could have your own area if you chose to . Drink prices were great before 10 pm and karaoke host was very friendly and made you feel welcomed. Definately be back next time we are in town read more

I'm going to write a counter-review. I've gone here twice with a group of friends and had a good time on both occasions -- even if we were the talentless karaoke, haha. It's not about sounding like American Idol! It's about getting drunk and having fun. To which we succeeded. I thought the drinks were average-priced. And despite its outer appearance, once you go in you'll see it's not really a dive... it's definitely a notch above that. I would recommend it for a group who is up for some karaoke. Beacon is terrible. It's dirty and disgusting. The people who run the karaoke are so tone deaf that it's actually painful to listen to. The wait staff is friendly but the bartenders are the worst. It takes forever to get served and they're the rudest people I've ever had the displeasure of being around. They maliciously yell at their servers in front of the customers and have a "holier-than-thou attitude," even towards customers. The owner sits at the end of the bar all night drinking and not doing a thing. It's boring and dirty and you feel like you need to shower after being in there for five minutes. read more
