My necklace had an intricate stringing pattern that needed expert hands. Sky restrung it meticulously, and Taylor did a beautiful job on my second necklace. Thank you both! The shop on Topanga Canyon Blvd has been around for 20 years, owned and run by Bari, one of the kindest, most patient people I've met. You can tell how much she cares about her customers, her team, and the community. Every time I stopped in, the store was vibrant, with projects underway at every table. Honestly I left because I was being followed around the store and watched like eyes on me staring!. Cartier is less intense. Very odd behavior very awkward and not welcoming so disheartening. ALSO which I'm really only pointing this out because it was such a bad vibe : another disheartening thing I was expecting specialty beads hand made etc..the beads they have are exactly the same ones I've gotten on Amazon. The only difference is they're charging 100x. For example I bought a pack of resin charms from Amazon around 18$ for 40 of them. They were selling the EXACT ones for 4.50 EACH . I went here to find special beads but honestly left right away because I felt so uncomfortable and judged. And the beads were wack. I am someone who grew up with nothing. Felt so ashamed as a kid. And now have a beautiful life so to feel that type of judgement was such an awful feeling. I parked in the back. Had she seen my car definitely would have been different ;). Stopped into Bead Lounge to find a chain or rope necklace to hold a trinket my son made for me. My wife has talked about this store for a good while, but this was my first time in, and it's a terrific little shop with a pretty huge selection of beads, chains, necklaces and other trinkets. Everything was very reasonably priced, and the service was fantastic. Diane helped me find what I needed pretty quickly, offering a number of suggestions, and Sky zapped everything together in a New York minute. I popped into the Bead Lounge earlier this year and worked with the owner for about 45 min to an hour trying to design a pendant and stone addition to my great grandmother's red coral necklace that is over 100 years old. The level of customer care and kindness that was shown was astounding. I have a very specific design idea and she was committed to solving it for me, I also dropped off a bracelet that needed to be re-thread. She reached out to me when it was ready, but I was dealing with recent unemployment and the death of a parent. I didn't go back for 4 months!! When I walked inside she looked and me and with the most hilarious tone in her voice she said "well hello!" And we both burst into laughter. Once she finished with her customer we were talking about the repaired bracelet and how she wasn't quite ready to give up on the necklace. So, she didn't charge me for the bracelet or the stones she bought for the pendant because they didn't work. I insisted on paying and she said not a chance. I'm not writing this so people think they can get free stuff from them, I'm writing this because that kind of customer care is nothing less than outstanding. You will not be disappointed! I've been coming to the bead lounge for a few years now, and I just have to say, these women have made me feel like family. I have taken several classes, from learning how to make a basic bracelet, to now wire wrapping, and I'm the kind of person who needs to watch, and ask questions, and needs the person teaching me to go slow, and explain things. Each one of these women has made me feel so comfortable. Now aside from that, sometimes I come in just to get inspiration. Sometimes I get stuck on what to make next, and I'll walk in and no joke, I am approached with a hug either from the owner Bari, Taylor, Naya or Sky, and asked how I'm doing and what they can help with. They have an incredible selection of beads, charms, chains, clasps. I've looked at several other bead stores in the area when I was first getting my feet wet in making jewelry, and it's obvious that Bari cares about what she wants in her store. Here we are, 8 years after my first review: I continue to come in here for repairs, advice, and I've brought friends to make our own jewelry. I adore this shop because it gives out a small town vibe. I don't come in often enough for them to know me, yet they're always so warm and friendly. Excellent and patient customer service (which is a dying art these days) and attentive help. Over the years, they have gradually included more varieties of jewelry, which I appreciate. They always provide a warm greeting and follow up with great assistance. Ayanna usually is the one to help me. She's knowledgeable, and I like/need the advice, but if I wanted to browse on my own... I know that she would be willing to let me do my own thing. And not hover, my pet peeve. The perfect balance of warm ambiance, creativity and congenial staff make THE BEAD LOUNGE a five star winner in my book. read more

This is a great little store. If you are looking for beads, this is the place to go. They have a great selection of unique beads and other jewelry orientated items for the jeweler or for anybody who just wants to put together a nice necklace, bracelet, or other beaded item. They also have some other interesting things around the store which I imagine change periodically so I won't go into what they are. But, the one thing that you can be sure of is that you can find unique items. Located on Topanga Canyon Boulevard, this shop is easy to find. There's plenty of parking in front of the store so you should have no problem finding a parking spot. Probably the nicest thing about this place is the staff. They are all very nice and very knowledgeable. I was feeling weird about a break up and someone referred me to this bead store even though it was over an hour away from where I live. I was determined to drive there. A few of the beads I picked out didn't have a big enough hole for the size cord that I wanted, which is an extra durable size because I never want to take the bracelet off , the lady that runs the place actually used a little metal hand thing and individually made the holes bigger so they would fit on the cord. I was so grateful ... it was unbelievable. I never saw so many wide varieties of each type of stone some were Matt finished others were faceted, big and small. It was really fascinating to come here and then they put the whole thing together. I wasn't up charged for some extra little things like the drilling and the environment is so calm and easy-going. People were really really happy there and I left literally emotional and feeling happy. I absolutely give this place five stars their customer service Was out standing like you were visiting a place of friends :))) also I can't believe the price on everything. Unpleasant experience. This is my first time ever leaving a review ever but my experience coming here sucked so much lol. The woman who appears the be the owner is soooo weird and off putting. Do not ask for a simple price range on the chains here because their entire demeanor changes. You can't tell from the outside, but it's a beautiful store inside. Beads, beads, and more beads. So many beads, and really nice ones. They have the ultra delicate loose beads in glass cases, but the majority of the shop consists of loose beads throughout. They also sell silk/fabric cordage in the back of the store and chain near the register. The ladies are very nice, asking if there was anything I needed assistance with. They also offer beading classes. Not too many brick and mortar bead shops anymore, especially one that offers such a large selection. Parking: Free, street - right in front of the store. read more

Came for my 2nd customized bracelet. I had my son with me and he had a great time with the arts and craft. Bari also helped my 4 year old make his own bracelet. This is one of my absolute favorite stores and my go to for gift giving. When I was contemplating on what to Do for my 5oth I thankfully thought of having a party here. Well it was an OMG this is such an awesome night and so much fun mantra that we all said multiple times.. Everyone was raving and a month later they are still raving. We brought in wine ,drinks and appetizers and everyone had a budget that I set and took care of. Barry and her staff were so helpful and accommodating. All of my friends and I have a beautiful piece of Jewelry that remind us of that incredible night and the friendship that we have. I can't recommend this place highly enough. I was in California earlier this month for a wedding. While visiting my cousin, I told her that I had started making some simple jewelry. She told me about the Bead Lounge, about 5 minutes from her house & I decided to stop in & take a look. The store was lovely! The people working bent over backwards to be helpful. The store was laid out beautifully, in a very organized fashion. Strings of beads, pearls & gemstones were hung along the walls, with the more valuable ones locked in easy-to-view showcases. My favorite thing...is that the majority of semi-precious gemstones were laid out on tables, organized by color & size. This made it so easy to choose accent stones for jewelry, as well as individual stones for earrings & pendants. Most shops do not have stones that can be purchased individually. And the ones that do, rarely have such a large & diverse selection. You can have a beading party here or come for a private lesson. Some other bead stores do this too. One very nice thing you can do at this store, that I've never heard of anywhere else... you can pick out the beads/gemstones you would like on your piece of jewelry. Then, if you don't want to create your own piece of jewelry, the experts in the shop will make it for you! Wow, what service! That's one thing that really puts them over the top, as far as I'm concerned!!! read more

I've had four or five things repaired here over the years, and quite literally every single piece has broken within a week or two of picking it up. This bead joint might be fine for you to get your own beads and supplies, but the jewelry repair bit is a joke. No more wasting money. I have to find another place. read more

Stopped in unexpectedly on my walk when I saw the sculptures in the window. If I recall, Janelle was the name of the young lady that helped me. When she mentioned that the sculptures weren't for sale, I decided to look at the beads since I was a jeweler years ago. They have a very nice selection in a wide variety of materials, to include all sorts of findings. Janelle was very patient, kind and informative. I appreciated her assistance. Ultimately I chose all sterling silver pieces for a custom memorial bracelet, which once completed, will only cost $50. When I return to visit my son, I'll be stopping in again. read more
