Don't go here! Go anywhere else! Yes, they have a tiny store full of nice things. But, there is always about two or three women working who sit behind the counter beading, that's all. I just spent 45 mins shopping in this store and I had to ask for help. The store is the size of a shoe box. They all saw me! No help. Then, I asked for a lady to show me which beads were on sale. She told me, then showed me, and both times I came up to pay they said wrong beads, those are not on sale. No discount. They had no signs, so you're just supposed to guess what's on sale and find out after waiting in line to pay. Overpriced too! Terrible customer service and store way way too cluttered with no rhyme or reason to where things are. This place is bogus! read more

The entire staff was so helpful and went above and beyond to help me not only figure out what I needed to design my necklace, but one of the ladies even helped make it so I could see my custom design come to life and I walked out with a brand new necklace! Couple things I noticed. If it's your first time and you don't grab a basket the 2 older ladies have no problem talking about you but do nothing to help you out. While I was there I was not given the introduction like other customers there. I also noticed I didn't get the introduction about signing up for their membership like everyone else did. This was my first time here. It was close to work and went during lunch. I had a specific bead in mind that I was looking for and the older lady briskly shook her head no. Then kind of shouted from behind the counter that I needed a tray. The younger lady came and spoke to me saying that I needed to bag and tag each bead. I noticed that the older lady greeted other customers as she guessed they were new comers. I spoke to myself out loud that I wish I had been given the introduction when I came into the store. The older lady asked what did I say and I repeated it in good fashion so that she could hear and said to me well you didn't say that this was your first time. I replied I didn't know that I had to announce myself. I hate to say it but she knows she ain't never seen my Black ass. She apologized and attempted to make nice. I won't be going back. read more

I shopped at this store for the first time on 08/06/22. They knew I was a first time shopper as I did not know how to shop there...didn't know you needed a tray for your purchases...so they showed me what to do...would have been a perfect time to let me know that ALL PURCHASES ARE FINAL AND NO EXCHANGES!! Instead I spent almost $500 knowing they would not be open Sunday so I figured I would return what I didn't need...came today to do my return...low and behold...they don't do returns...not even an exchange!! I am so ANGRY! Was in this store for almost 2 hrs on Saturday spoke with every employee in the store and did not see 1 sign about the policy...NOT ONE!! I've been here a few times it's nothing special. this time when I the store I was looking at some chain to finish a project as I'm looking I feel someones hand on my a** and an excuse me (she want me to move not because of where her hand was), I immediately go to pay and leave. I mentioned to the person im with I should not have wait in the car cuz someone fell it was okay to do that, the cashier noticed but said nothing. so after payment I asked if that was the owner or something and they replied YES. I will never be back and if that wasn't the owner there's a serious problem. This was not okay, it's already rude for an employee or owner to have a customer move away from the only thing they are there for, but the audacity to inappropriately touch any because you can is discussing, disrespectful, and humiliating. If this was not the owner there's a huge problem here. Bead World has THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE of any store I have visited in the past 10 years. It all flows down from the top, and owner Karen is just a rude and unprofessional person. Unfortunately, since she is the one who hires her AWFUL STAFF everything flows down... they will shame you in front of other customers, talk behind your back (I know, I have heard it), and basically treat you like garbage. This is especially hard for me to say as I was one of their best and most loyal customers, spending lots of money on almost a weekly basis, until I, and those I would bring in with me, noticed how badly she was treating me. Bead World was found upon a search to adjust a lava bead bracelet I purchased in Kauai. Mind you, I have no "beading" skills whatsoever, so although it appeared simple to cut and restring a bracelet, I found it much easier to have someone else who's got all the skills as well as tools to achieve such a small tedious task. Voila! Within an hour of leaving there and a cost of $6, it was done! There is a $15 Living Social deal that sports an "Introduction to Beading" class with a start up kit, which is not bad at all. I have purchased this deal and intend to use it soon, especially since I thought it'd be cool to be able to do some personalized jewelry myself. There is a large collection of all sorts of beads available at this store. There used to be 3 locations: Glendale, Scottsdale, and Phoenix, but now only the Scottsdale and Phoenix ones are left, which means I'd better sign up for my intro class soon! read more

This is not a big store. However, it is well organized and has everything you need. It is well stocked with swarovski crystals and seed beads. Price is also very reasonable. Employees were very friendly and helpful. One of the ladies directed us to sales items immediately. She also gave us the space we need to browse around slowly. After explaining that my four year old daughter loves beading and that this is her reward at the end of the week for excellent behavior, the staff still scowled at me for letting her look through the beads herself. I'm sure it's tedious, putting all those beads in their little bins and having one fall into another bin is like armageddon, but we really did clean up after ourselves. After thinking what a shame and making a mental note never to come to this place again, I noticed a 25 cent gumball machine filled with beads on the counter. Five dollars worth of picked out beads, and 25 cents into the gumball machine later, and my daughter was the happiest kid on the planet. I still won't go back to Bead World, as I expect good customer service even if you hate kids - or at least put an age limit on your door if you don't want little ones in your store - but the gumball machine is a nice touch (that should have been pointed out to me instead of being given the scowl.) read more

I've used this store for years because it is very conveniently located to me. The inventory is decent; sometimes I find what I'm looking for, and sometimes not. Unfortunately, over the five years since I found the place, the customer service has been consistently bad. They seem affronted if you ask them a question, and offer limited help and almost no suggestions. I have waited for awkward minutes to pay at the counter while the employee finishes up with whatever beadwork she is doing at the little table behind it. Additionally, it is commonplace to be watched like a hawk as you shop, apparently no matter how many times you have been or how many hundreds of dollars you have spent there over the years. Maybe this was special treatment for me, being younger than they are, and wearing whatever grubby day-off gear I may have had on. It's no excuse, obviously, particularly for such a special interest store, which should be on its knees in gratitude for every body that walks through the door. In fairness, I do recall at least one or two instances in which I have been treated courteously (by the same person each time), but it doesn't quite offset the begrudging treatment from the other bats. read more

First of all, they have a really great inventory, with new pieces, that actually help me keep up with "trends" versus going to say, Beads Galore, where everything seems about 10 years old. Such pretty things, all the shiny baubles. Being only a sporadic, recreational beader, I like Bead World best of all the 7 or 8 beads shops I've visited in the valley because 1) it's close. Every other shop is in out in the 'burbs; 2) nice selection of real stones, including large chunky stuff and many of pearls from dirt cheap to luxury: 3) it's small enough to have a personal feel, not the warehouse feel like at D&I or Beads Galore; 4) the staff are helpful and will give you one-on-one attention; 5) they are open Sundays; and 6) they have great classes! Not cheap (but they give a great discount coupon for beads afterwards), but very useful. I've taken most of the basic classes and actually learned stuff. Bead World has a decent selection of single large beads, which saves a lot of money of you only want a few instead of a whole strand. The selection of man-made material beads (glass, etc) is pretty small - if you are looking for those, better to try elsewhere read more

We had purchased an item from Etsy for our wedding, which came in and was not anything near what we had ordered. With only 2 weeks until the big day, the only solution was to try to create the item ourselves. For anyone who doesn't know, a lot of nature-based religions have a ritual of binding the couple's hands together as a symbol of unity during a wedding ceremony. This sacred cord is what we were seeking, and imperative to our ceremony. We had no idea how to make it, but knew it was necessary. Off to local area bead stores we went!
