My wife ordered the Monte Cristo crepe with the French onion. I really enjoyed the burger, which was spicy and flavorful. My wife did not like the Monte Cristo crepe, which was lacking in texture and not very tasty. Apparently a Monte Cristo doesn't work as a crepe? The French onion soup was a glutenous ball as the bread became incredibly soggy in the broth. But the broth itself was flavorful. The food was mixed, but the bigger problem came when it was time to pay the bill. I was shocked when it turned out to be almost $20 higher than expected. I was charged $12.95 for each soup. I pointed out the discrepancy and the server took one of the soup charges off the bill. I pointed out that this was still an overcharge based on the listed price of $4.25 on the menu, but apparently the "cup of soup" on the menu did not include French onion, which is something that should have been clearly shown on the menu or at least explained by the server when I ordered it. Not wishing to argue the matter further I paid the bill with an abbreviated tip and left. Given the lack of communication and the exorbitant prices charged for middling food, we will not be back.

Is Heaven a Bagel?…read more Is a question you might ask yourself after going to Cheryl's Bagels. The bagels here will ruin you for all other bagels in Utah. The bagels are perfectly made. They're chewy and soft and spun with magic. You think you hate plain bagels? No you hate other plain bagels, because these ones will have you questioning all bagels you've had before they are made of pure heaven and glow with all gloriousness. You think you've had a good bagel sandwich? In Utah? No. These sandwiches are the most perfectly made sandwiches, the eggs are cooked so well, they don't fall off the bagel they're buttery, they are well seasoned. Every bagel sandwich I've tried is somehow my favorite and when I go I have to resist the urge to order multiple. Thankfully my husband loves to go halvsies so I never have to experience bagel sandwich FOMO. You want just bagels and cream cheese? You will get the best cream cheese of your life. You want a flat bagel to rip apart and eat? The enormous Flagels are in their own ballpark of delicious, they are crispy, they are salty, they are an incredible vessel in which to get cream cheese in your mouth. I have never been to New Jersey and New York but I almost feel like there is no need since Cheryl brings a piece of New Jersey with her to Utah. The cherry on top for this beautiful bagel sundae, is the wonderful customer service. Everyone is kind and Cheryl herself an absolute gem. If you leave this place hungry you're doing something wrong.
