    Peach ice cream

Words may not do the correct description that makes you stop as you drive through Cloverdale. Please accept this as my lowly attempt to convince you to stop in. First and foremost the service and friendliness of the owner is almost overwhelming. We were late getting there a good 15 minutes and she was taking in the sign. She asked if we were coming for ice cream and told us she had closed and was willing to open back up just to serve us. It had been a busy day and she didn't want to disappoint anyone. The ice cream really has no comparison. They make it from the dairy In town down the street every day. Fresh is the word. I don't know if that does it justice. They them crush your fruit selection into the ice cream like a blizzard. Except the fruit and the juice of the fruit combine to make a flavorfully delicious treat. Super cute store they also have some of the best cheese you will ever taste. Not even on the same category as mass produced options. Please please please blow this place up and make it a destination stop. Totally worth the out of the way journey. Tell them Todd sent you. Score yourself some points.

What a hidden gem! We came in here right after opening time and the lady was so nice! She explained everything about the creamery and how you can see the cows they get the Milk from to make their cheeses from behind the store! She explained all the cheeses we asked about and provided us with samples. We ended up leaving with a ton of different cheeses! We tried the homemade ice cream they have and it was to die for! One scoop of chocolate and one scoop of vanilla. Literally no additional toppings needed. They have some cute items for sale and other local treats. They had a milk jug I really wanted but unfortunately it was so cool it wasn't for sale! Will definitely go back here when I'm in the area.

Some stuffed animals as well and some hair clips and whatnot. You can also purchase food in there to feed the animals outside (I'm sure it is not the only place to purchase food but that's where we got it this time). Inside the main building are many different kinds of high end gifts, kitchen items, wine, and food, as well as a cafe and ice cream. Outside are the animals (who tbh can really live without the food lol - they are fairly lacksadaisical about it!); and the area where Harvest Host folks park. The friendliest animals are the goats.

What a fabulously wonderful, relaxing restaurant / garden / petting zoo and gift-shop. The grounds are abound with potted plants and flowers. I entered what can best be described as a large, deli-gift-shop. Ordering takes place at the deli counter, a number is given, and food is delivered to your table. There is a fountain area, a coffee bar and a refrigerated cooler for drinks. The wine section is expansive and beautifully displayed. I can't speak to the quality, as I didn't partake in adult beverages. The shop is comprehensive with loads of deli-like merchandise, boutique items and souvenirs. They offer a lot of hand-crafted and locally-made fare, which is my preference. The food was outstanding! I order the cheese charcuterie with salami and my husband ordered the Blue Heron Classic. What a delight, and with plenty of left-overs. It was such a gorgeous day I visited the Candy Shop for an ice cream cone (Tillamook, of course) and walked the grounds for peacock viewing. The Blue Heron has picnic tables outside, so I sat and enjoyed the sun for a while. It was an ideal escape!

This little shop is absolutely adorable and full of charm. Most of their products are locally sourced, and you can feel the care that goes into the selection. The cheese and condiment options were phenomenal, truly one of the best curated selections I've seen in the area. They also have a cute wine bar tucked in the back, which adds to the cozy, welcoming atmosphere. The sandwiches and deli items in the case looked so good that I'm already planning to come back for lunch next time I'm in town. Everything looked fresh, high quality, and thoughtfully put together. The staff was friendly, kind, and clearly passionate about what they do. Prices were very reasonable, especially considering the quality of the products. A wonderful little spot with great people and even better cheese, I'll definitely be back to enjoy "good company" in every sense of the name!

The farm is adorable! On one visit, Pat & her daughter were gracious enough to take the time to show me around. It just so happened that a kid was being birthed! Suffice it to say, I was elated, in awe & humbled to be able to witness the beginning of another generation that produces such yummy chevre. Thanks for taking the time to share that. Now back to the cheese - the Sunset Bay with scrambled eggs, sauteed shallots & baguette made the best breakfast. Up In Smoke was perfect as a snack with Trader Joe's Pita Bite Crackers. The Cape Foulweather was perfect for a brioche & fig preserve grilled cheese. I'd definitely recommend making your way through the forest to find this gem of a farm.

I've been a fan of the tortes (my favorite being the Goat Cheese Frangelico with nuts, vanilla and brown sugar!! Just like ice cream!), but wanted to visit a working local cheese producing farm in Oregon. On that pretext my friends and I embarked on a "cheesecation". After a long drive past OSU, the green and lush pastures of Philomath, and just as the mountains and fresh salt air tell you the beach is near, we find our way there. This farm is in very rural Oregon, and beautiful valleys snugly hold the river and the farm in their palm. A great tiny banner greeted us at the gate, and we immediately smelled not goat, but cheese. Amazing! The farm is exceedingly tidy, and the family is delightful to talk to. They really love their goats, and the goats are a herd of around 55 very sweet little creatures. I don't know goats well, so I couldn't tell you the breeds. There were a few sheep as well. The cheese is stellar. The best I have had. I have eaten a LOT of goat cheese in my career at a distributor, but if you can find a better one, please send a note my way. The Siletz Goat log, with a crust of bloomy edible rind was my next favorite after the tortes. It was deliciously creamy, salty and piquant with a hit of grass but NO usual goatiness. The pate on the cheese was tender but flaky, and tends toward soft and spreadable when aged. Also their small goat cheese balls in olive oil with Rosemary and Peppercorn are excellent. Creamy, milky and delicious. Soft and supple but very pliable on the tongue and nice mouth-feel. You get the Rosemary right on the sides fo the tongue. Check out the web-site for more info!! You can find their wonderful cheeses at Steve's Cheese and New Seasons Markets. Please check them out!!

Briar Rose Creamy, which specializes in cows milk cheese, offers an open window for sample tasting, which is accessible after driving down a gravel road in Dundee. Their cheese is served on cheese & charcuterie boards at nearby Dundee Hills & Willamette Valley wineries. We were offered samples by the cheese maker's husband, who shared the story of their business, her journey from her early days at Cowgirl Creamy in Marin, to starting her own company, & advised us on their offerings. While tasting, we could see straight back into the cheese making facility, with people busy at work. It just doesn't get any closer to the source than that. We enjoyed each Briar Rose cheese we tried, but particularly the Butterbaby, a soft bloomy rind Guernsey cow's milk cheese, and their sweet, tangy, spreadable formage blanc. I wish they had been tasting their semi-soft cheese washed in Riesling and wrapped in Spruce bark, called Strapping Evelyn, but it wasn't available to sample the day we stopped by. We picked up several cheeses to take home. A must for anyone who likes an authentic farm stand experience.
