I ignored it stupidly on that particular day I felt the pain was worse than ever and I better go to the ER here to our wonderful hospital. Mountain Community Hospital in Lake Arrowhead. I went there feeling pretty cocky and thinking this will be nothing well once again. I was there approximately 7:45 in the morning and I was just complaining about chest pain and the incredible doctor and nurses took the bull by the horn and recognized the signs and started taking x-rays and what not and I'm saying it's nothing. It's nothing. I'm feeling pain here is there but immediately they saw and recognized issues and me being the stupid person that I am I'm saying no, I have to go to Spain in three days and they were fantastic. I cannot say oh my God how wonderful they were. They took the ball by the horn like I said and they immediately took some test and they said you're going to have to go down the hill to Riverside Community and I just thought that was crazy well fast-forward that was on 12 May a week later I ended up having open-heart surgery yes and I must say they literally saved my life that was told to me several times by the doctors and the cardiologist at Riverside Community. I would've had several heart attacks in Spain or the airplane had I not been at Riverside Community and had my open heart surgery and had a ER at Mountain community done what they did they literally saved my life that entire staff between the doctors and the entire staff between the nurses the radiologist. They are five star all the way we up here on the mountain are so blessed with the entire staff and the doctors they are our angels truly are angels. We need to stop complaining about the stupid stuff and realize how blessed we are to have the staff at Mountain community. They are really the best stop complaining about the stupid little stuff because they saved my life and I bless them every day. I wake up, I was told by my neurologist at Cedar Sinai that 82% of people don't even make it to the surgery table 82% and that would've been me had it not been the staff at the ER at Mountain community. We owe them so much. They are truly my heroes. Thank you so much ER department at Mountain community God bless you.

Place clean, etc. and patients feelingbalert and content, an important thing. And the Law, as are all these things for Elders in California. This hospital provided Emergency Care that was reasonably fast for a holiday weekend, my gurney only waited an hour , but I was having breathing and cardiac problems caused by someone at that assisted living facility in 92545 and so got some priority in being seen, and was taken to a small room, parked, and a nurse virtually moved in to watch me. very calming and polite. The lady Dr showed within minutes and got tests off to the labs ,EKG set up, blood draws ordered and me examined physically asking and answering questions, then Admitting me, and I moved there quietly and soon put in a more appropriate bed for my larger than life size ( caused by lymphedema an incurable body altering disease l). In the Ward most of the Drs were very knowledgeable and efficient and I felt confident with them, most nurses and lvn's were more than capable and most were friendly and understanding that they needed to be ultra careful of other non involved but still painful body areas in treating my current one and most complied. From the moment I arrived, most of the nurses were cold, unwelcoming, and came across as rude. There were no smiles, very little communication, and I felt like an inconvenience rather than a patient who needed care. The one exception was Dr. Peter, who was amazing. He was kind, professional, and made me feel heard. He was the only positive part of my visit. One nurse, whose name I didn't catch but who had an accent, unplugged my equipment so I could use the restroom without giving me any directions. She also seemed annoyed that I had asked to use it. The restroom itself was unacceptable. There was feces smeared on the toilet seat and a soiled hospital gown left on the floor. It was unsanitary and disgusting, especially in a healthcare setting. Based on this experience, I will make the extra trip to Redlands if I ever have another emergency. I sincerely hope this hospital addresses its staff's attitude toward patients and improves its cleanliness standards.

HA! But the tour was FREE and they were only accepting donations as payment. The only inconvenience, really, was the drive. That was about an hour and a half. With our adventure, it was well worth it. The tour was surprisingly fun and entertaining. We went inside to a small air conditioned house-like place with four or five rooms. It was full of artifacts and we had our own private 'tour guide' to provide us with a history of the land and a detailed explanation of all of the artifacts in each room. After about four rooms with very detailed information about the fascinating history of the asylum, we were able to walk about on our own. My fiance and I explored about asking questions and taking lots of photographs. We them walked out from the museum and went back to our vehicle. We were advised by one of the tour guides of a cemetery on the grounds but we could only access it outside of the asylum. So we got in our vehicle and wandered about. We somehow wound up touring the entire perimeter. Pretty sure that was not included in the 'tour" but we had a blast and we got to observe the entire lot! We likely will not be back due to the fact that the museum was small and we saw what we needed to see in one run. The museum was not very large but it was definitely worth the trip. I would highly recommend it!

The doctors did not seem to have much interest in the medications that my husband had been prescribed by his Cedars Sinai doctors, nor did they listen carefully to me when I tried to share his medical history, including actual reports from doctors that I accessed from my Cedars Sinai app. I asked repeatedly about him receiving his meds and was never given a good reason why they were being withheld. I also learned that the Medical Center does not subscribe to EPIC - an electronic health record platform in the US that allows for medical records from one hospital to be accessed by another. This is significant in that they treat patients without having access to important medical history. I am still not certain that the 'abscess' that they drained wasn't a cyst that his Cedars doctor had determined to be benign. I showed one of the doctors the MRI results from April of this year, but another doctor determined that the 'abscess' needed to be drained. We waited 4 days for the MRI to be completed. During his 10-day stay, my husband was in three different rooms. The last night, he was placed in a room with three other patients and a shared restroom that he refused to use. We have Medicare and Blue Shield insurance. I was shocked to find him in that shared room on the morning that he was finally discharged. The bottom line is this - my husband gained 21 pounds during his 10-day stay. Only 2 times did someone come and get him out of bed to walk. His legs are so full of fluid that he now needs a walker to get around. The fluid buildup is due to a lack of the correct dosage of diuretics. It will take us weeks to get rid of the fluid. Was anyone keeping track of his weight? If so, why didn't they make the proper adjustments? Why didn't someone listen to my pleas for more meds to address the fluid buildup? To top it all off, my husband has scabs all over his arms and a huge gash on his head that no one can explain. What a horrific experience.

I just went in for a really bad rash on my armpit. The lady was nice until I gave her my name and she looked my account up. She rudely told me last time I was in my visit wasn't covered by insurance cause I was out of network so she's going to have to collect payment up front this time. I said my insurance is California so I am in network. So I called my mom to ask her and my mom is like no you're in network so I asked the lady what it said and she said "all I can tell you is what I have right in front of me and it says that it didn't get covered because you guys hadn't reached your deductible". Out of network and not reaching a deductible are two different things. I said that's fine and she rudely said "I need your credit card" so I handed her my credit card and she still had my ID, so I was waiting at the counter and she goes "umm take a seat" and I said "I'm waiting for my card back" and she said "I told you I need to make a copy of it" and I said "you need to make a copy of my credit card?" And she threw it back at me and goes "here's your card you're so worried about. I need to make a copy of your ID" and I just said "thank you" and went and sat down. After I got done filling out my paperwork I brought it up and then heard her and the other lady taking about me. They said they needed my insurance card again so I brought it to them then sat down. A few minutes later I was called up by another lady and she started talking to me like I was a 2 year old saying I needed to pay for my visit. I said "that's fine I already gave her my card to pay and she threw it back at me" then the other lady started telling me "I need to be an adult" and mocking me. And the other lady said "wow attitude". I said "yes I have an attitude because of the way you just treated me for no reason". While I was on the phone with my mom they both started calling me a child and said I needed to be an adult and grow up and all this stuff. Then the other lady hands me back my credit card and says "have fun at the emergency room. We won't be seeing you" and they both laughed. I am filing a report with the California State Health Board about this incident currently. Absolutely unacceptable. My family has lived here for 30 years and clearly she doesn't like us since she was extremely nice until I told her our last name. To be treated that way in a medical office is insane. As I just went to google to leave a review I see hundreds of posts saying they lie and tell you you're out of network to steal money. Avoid this place at all costs!

That is appreciated. Not all asthmatics will wheeze, and it can present differently so medical professionals just need to be aware of that. There was one PA who kicked me out of the ER in 2014 and nearly killed me and he doesn't believe other people's asthma attacks either. I'm talking about Kurt Harris. All the people he's ever failed are all over google reviews. The doctor at Cal State gave me an asthma treatment two days later and said she was incredibly close to sending me to the ER. I don't care that it was 12 years ago. I'll never forget that I came very close to not being here because he rendered zero treatment. I am very thankful a doctor realized I actually couldn't breathe right and helped me. I was in the ER last month and had a really great PA. She listened, asked questions and figured out that it was viral gastroenteritis after ruling out flu and covid. She made sure I wasn't dehydrated. Gastroenteritis isn't necessarily an emergency, but I never had a case that bad before and didn't know what was happening. she gave me some Zofran and a medication for stomach cramping. The gastroenteritis lasted a long time for me, so I followed up with primary and they did a lot of tests to rule out other stuff. The bathrooms need to be cleaner, especially the ones in the lobby. Also, there is a wide gap in the doors and that is not okay.
