Not many places do it right with pastries and coffee, but Bearded Baking does! This is hands down the best peanut butter cookies I have tried in the area. I ordered the cold brew + the whipped cold brew, both are delicious. The cold brew is strong and flavorful. The whipped cold brew is on the sweeter side but would still recommend trying if you like sweet coffee. All the pastries look absolutely delicious, the assortment of donuts, scones, muffins, cookies, and cupcakes are freshly made. Cannot wait to try more! Would absolutely recommend!

    Two dozen cupcakes!

I ordered two dozen cupcakes last minute and they were amazing! I will definitely be ordering in a more planned setting.

Great bakery and great service. I ordered some special gingerbread cookies and they were able to accommodate and the execution was perfect.

I wanted everything but settled on some cookies (chocolate chip, brownie cookie, peanut butter and snickerdoodle).

There was a wait for our beverages. However it was well worth it. My mother was looking for a standard drip coffee and due to none being available. An excellent option of an americano was offered and she fell in love with it immediately. The deserts were also very well crafted and had excellent flavor. Definitely a place to stop. Relax people watch and enjoy a little treat with some great coffee options.

The delightful scent of coffee was in the air and the staff were absolutely friendly as you approached the counter. Despite a buzz of patrons trickling in and ordering, the coffee was delivered to the table shortly after I sat. The staff obviously had a strong momentum going as I watched other tables being served just as quickly. Before I could even really start sipping on my piping hot Cafe Au Lait, I was served my salad and crepe. It was fun to watch how each person worked their station passionately. The lady preparing the crepes meticulously cleaned her station as she cooked. The staff on coffee were brewing away and sending cups out to diners. Other items were coming out from the back kitchen. They worked in unison like a well oiled machine. I definitely enjoyed my coffee. My salad was generous and hit the spot. The crepe was acceptable. Would I come back? Yeah, definitely my type of breakfast spot when visiting Portsmouth again. I definitely will try their croissants next time as well as check out their wine bar in the evenings!

So I get a large Chip's Tip sub and a few pastries for snacks. The bill was steep for what I got but I thought it would be worth it for my son to try the sub. After getting it, we split the sub and ate it in the car. Let me tell you that this was not the same steak tip I remembered. It was so bad, we tossed it in the garbage at the gas station next door. The steak was very tough and hard to chew - almost like the tips had been cooked earlier and then reheated for my order. Everything just seemed greasy. We also did not enjoy the raspberry turnover or yellow cream cannoli's we got for dessert. Maybe it was us or maybe it was the food but I will never go there again. We are not food snobs by any stretch of the imagination, and I rarely will say anything bad about a restaurant experience but we ended up going to Augusta's which is just a little bit down the road, for chicken just to erase this experience from our mouths. I know a lot of people will swear by their steak tip subs and that is great but it's just not for me anymore.
