well one of our favorite places to eat at just took a dive in the dirt. Apperantly your allowed to bring animals into an eating establishment with out worrying about Montana Health Codes. there were two women eating at the corner table with a dog setting on one woman's lap. she was feeding eat right off her plate and allowing it to lick stuff from the plate. And there is no way it was a service dog. You don't feed service dogs human food. and the little blonde waitress was saying nothing to them about the animal being in the restauran. and she catered to that table all night and ignored the three tables around the dog table. we constantly had to ask her for services. and the dog table never had to ask. I think this should be brought to the attention of the Montana Food Service for a vioration of Montana Food Code. this was the shittiest service we have had there in the past year. And then the dog in an eating establishment with no one talking to the dog owner. We love dogs and have dogs. But we respect others in a restaurant environment to leave ours at home. Hope Bears Lair pulls there head out of there ass and corrects this behavior and telling there employees to speak up. read more

FYI I never give away a 5 star for a roadside restaurant so a 3 is high. The establishment was clean and family friendly. Full diner level menu that focused on pizza. Casino and full bar set up on the other side of the house. I ordered a Greek pizza with a side salad. Salad was tasteless. The pizza crust was good as well the tomato sauce base and toppings. Better than dominos or Pizza Hut but no comparison to thin crust NY pizzas via a wood fired oven. Staff was nice and pleasant and that cost was truly inexpensive. BL2 is hit or miss. Was thinking that maybe with new ownership, it might be different....not this time. Ordered Linguine and meatballs - very average - they forgot to top with Parmesan. Ordered Salmon Caesar salad (excited for this new menu item) the salmon was really good - the lettuce was less than appealing- wilted and sub par- ended up just eating the salmon. Last item ordered was the pulled pork nachos - they were good- would order them again but just hate spending $45 on a gamble it's going to be worth it. My kids bought a house here in Florence and we were told by the realtor that this place was good. The first time I ordered an individual taco pizza and it was fantastic!! Lots of toppings and fresh lettuce & tomato. It was off the hook and everyone at the table enjoyed their meal. Good enough we returned the next day for another try and again it was super yummy. I just had a side and a few bites of hubby's hamburger that was huge and fantastic. Service was amazing very helpful and friendly especially my daughter had dietary restrictions and they were very accommodating. Nice and clean. We'll definitely be back!! read more

I ordered food for my family for a delivery at 5:06 PM was told by the person who took my order. The food will be here in 35 minutes. Call back at 6 o'clock and was told that there was only one driver and it would be another 30 minutes, my food arrived an hour and a half after I placed my order. The hot food was cold. The salad I ordered with no tomatoes was covered in tomatoes when I called them to tell them of my frustration for the wait and that my salad was wrong, I was told well we're short staffed and mistakes can happen was offered a refund or to have the driver bring another salad out, but couldn't guarantee when that would be. If I could leave less than 1 star, I would. Even though we heard mostly bad word of mouth about bears lair 2, we decided to give them a chance and order a pizza for delivery from them. Although the pizza arrived ahead of time, it was smashed into one side of the box. This could happen to anyone, so we sent the pizza back and asked for a phone call from someone at bears lair 2 to see about a discount on a second pizza if we re-ordered a make good. The phone call we received seemed to be a butt dial, and it was from the cook. Her demeanor with us spoke volumes that she was annoyed to have to speak to a customer. I think we were just as confused by getting a call from a cook instead of a manager, but that does not excuse how poorly she treated us. We ordered a second pizza but after hanging up, we thought that maybe that pizza would arrive with 'extra' ingredients we hadn't counted on as revenge, so we called back to cancel the order. It's fine to take an order and take a customer's money, but it speaks volumes about you as a business if your people are unwilling to make good on a problem that was put into place when the product was still in your possession, and it says even more when your employees treat the customer as an inconvenience and are rude when the customer calls attention to the poor service they received from your establishment. read more

I stopped in to pick up a takeout order. I had a mask on because folks in my household are immune compromised. The bitch at the counter told me they would allow me to wear a mask this one time!! As I stood there stunned, I noticed the gal making salads had no gloves on, no mask on and by the way she kept wiping her nose, it was obvious she had a cold. We were never offered refills on drinks or beer. Waited for the check for 15 minutes until I had to get up and ask for it. I came in December 3 at 12pm to have lunch. I had the spicy chicken sandwich, and it was good. When we went to pay, we had to ask to have our cards run so we could leave. My friend had her card swiped first to pay for her $13.76 meal, and when she got her ticket to sign, it was only half price which was $6.88. She saw the mistake and told the cashier, and he went to make it the full price by swiping a card again for $6.88. He ended up using my card to pay the other half. When we asked him to undo it, he said there is no way for him to cancel that swipe and told us I still had to pay it. Then, he kept saying "now someone has to pay for the chicken sandwich." I told him I could pay for my sandwich, but he had to cancel the transaction he made on my card for my friends meal. He kept insisting there was no possible way for him to do that. My friend ended up using her card to pay my whole meal, because we were both just frustrated at the whole situation. I was disappointed in my first ever experience here. read more

I've ordered delivery from here 5 times with the hope that it would be better each time, but it was not. Ordered two 2 reubens to he delivered and the bread was so soggy and wet we could barely eat it. Second time the pizza we ordered was undercooked. Next two times we ordered burgers which the bread was wet and soggy and the lettuce was slimy. The last time we thought they couldn't possibly screw up lasagna but they did - noodles were soggy, cheese I requested was missing, and they put the wrong sauce i wanted on it. Went there yesterday after work. First impression was the place was clean and bright. My wife and I sat in the bar. We were greeted warmly. We ordered a couple cocktails and perused the menu. The Menu had plenty of selections. The service was excellent. We ordered a Polar Bear Pizza to go. We had 2 rounds of drinks. The Beer was Ice Cold and the Vodka Lemonade was refreshing. We took the pizza home. It was very good. I suspect it's even better at the restaurant. All in all it was a very enjoyable experience. Stopped in for two medium pizzas, which ran me nearly 30 bucks. I appreciate that the dough appears to be hand shaped, but unfortunately its by someone who never learned to handle dough in a way that preserves the air pockets to keep a crust light. This was flat and tough (stretch or toss folks, never ever ever use a rolling pin). Also whatever oven they are using needs a hotter bake surface because the bottom crust had almost no char to it, just a flat, white bottom. The garlic pizza flavors weren't bad at all but the garlic did all the heavy lifting. Roasted red pepper instead of plain would have made a huge difference in quality. And for such an easy thing (owner/chef if you're reading...) a sprinkle of coarse salt and drizzle of olive oil on your pies when fresh out of the oven would go a long way. The herbivore pizza, on the other hand, appears to have been designed by someone who has no absolutely respect for vegetables or flavor. I'm 100% certain this was a budget decision by the owner -- throw some extra toppings from our pre-chopped nacho area on there and call it the vegetarian option. Everything was diced the way you'd expect on nachos, not pizza. Flavorless tomatoes that were closer to a translucent pink/white color than a ripened red (and tasted as such); red onions sliced so thin that they convey no flavor (and probably allow the restaurant to get through an entire week on a single onion); basil that was clearly cut with scissors over the top right after baking instead of keeping the leaves whole. I can go on... When the most flavorful thing on you pie is the handful of olives from a $1 can of pre-sliced California blacks you've got a problem. This pizza was so bad I considered it an insult to both herbivores AND to pizza and I signed up to yelp just to comment on it. I don't know about the rest of the food here but from this outing my guess is the owners are counting on the casino to keep them in business. Pizza is probably on the menu because it's a good bar food, definitely not because the person designing the menu has any respect for it as a food genre or has ever attempted to learn how to do it right. She took my name and number and put the piece of paper in the cash register. She said she didn't know how to give me a refund. I have never heard from the restaurant.
