New owners. Immediately raised beer prices 25%. No more Wednesday night music. Spotty Saturday night music. Questionable move leasing next door restaurant to the most expensive and stingiest portion Mexican restaurant in Montana (that isn't even open on Wednesday and Thursday nights -- when the brewery is busiest). Management seems to be focused on converting it from a great brewery and music place to yet another sports bar. No more free popcorn or snacks. Everything costing more and delivering a lot less value. Just another mediocre beer place now. Guess new owners will have to find out the hard way. read more

Best place in town to grab a brew, kick back and enjoy the company. Everyone is friendly and the owners are very nice, at least one of them, the other doesn't seem to end up behind the bar much so I haven't met him. The "ONLY" reason they don't get a 5 Star is because they don't serve food, it's such a miss but understand how difficult it would be to add on the building and have the space. A few more TV's would be good with a focus of either sportsman's shows and sports playing all the time would cover most everyone in Montana. read more

Pretty good beers, awesome environment and live music that was amazing! The staff is friendly and it's worth trying the flight with all beers on tap, especially if you are indecisive! The Irish red was really good and the stout! I'm looking forward to going back to this brewery! The decor is welcoming and they have an outdoor patio area as well for the summer! I'm new to the whole "Big Sky Country" thang, but I ain't new to the brew, if you know whatta mean - and I tink dat you do. I've seen more bottoms of pint glasses than I have of baby's butts (mind my French). So I like a well crafted alcoholic beverage, from light to heavy, seasonally specific, natch. I've got an event coming up that will bring me to the great white North - not so white right now, they tell me - so where should I go in western MT come St. Pat's day to wet the whistle and also get some of my mountain music on? J-man out. James J. El Cerrito, CA Hello there James, I say spend some quality time with the Blacksmith in lovely little Stevi. It's not as well known perhaps as some of the Missoula-based brew houses, like Big Sky, Kettlehouse, or Draughtworks, or as large as Bitterroot Brewery or Lolo Peak, but to my mind, it's western Montana beercraft in a nutshell. Or rapidly emptying pint glass, pick your metaphor. Stevensville is quaint, with amazing mountain views, and some nice roads leading to and from it, especially the Eastside Highway. I'd start at the BBC, trying 1 or 2 or perhaps a 3rd pint and half-pint, with a general light to dark transition, as if you were tasting wine. You can get food takeout from local places, or pick up a pizza at Fireside, which is just down the road off of US-93 (the main drag down the Bitterroot). For St. Pats, definitely try something of theirs that is dark and stout or porterlike, but don't rush into darkness at the start! Sample an ale or lager first, maybe a half pint to get the brew juices flowing, then when you're ready, go dark. After that, if you need food for a Patty's Day picnic, I'd check out the Burnt Fork Market down the road heading south towards Victor. Or make dinner reservations at Mission Bistro. If it's summertime fun you're after, make Stevensville an early stop and then head to Philipsburg over the epic Skalkaho Highway (dirt roads, steep ravines, big spaces, waterfalls, lakes, the whole Sapphire mountain package) for an afternoon stop at their great local brewery. Overnight there, or head back to Missoula for evening drinks at Kettlehouse, or go fancy with the wine bar at Red Bird, or cocktails at Montgomery Distillery. That would be quite the road trip! Any way you play it, player, you'll be happy you drank deeply, Montana style. Just watch the calories and the driving, little sips are better than big gulps. Never have paid much attention to BBC, but after a visit here this summer it instantly became my #1 brewery in Montana, possibly anywhere! All of the staff members encountered were super helpful and friendly. I'm not a big fan of pale ales, but their Panty Dropper Pale Ale was top notch. This is one of the few breweries that I actually liked every brew they had on tap, which is unheard of for me. Keep up the good work BBC, and send more of your product up north (Kalispell). read more

My habit when I travel, is to Yelp for local breweries when I'm hungry and/or in the mood for a good beer. I really enjoyed discovering this fine little brewery in Stevensville. I was hungry when arriving, so brought in a tasty barbecue sandwich from next door, to eat while consuming one of their IPAs. They do a great job brewing, I'll say that. Everyone was friendly, and I felt welcomed and relaxed. Very homey atmosphere, with an outside seating area. I'd highly recommend this establishment, if you want to relax with a great craft beer. read more

We had a great time when we visited Blacksmith Brewing Company this past fall. The exterior brick building is very good looking and inside there is a fun and festive atmospher. The highlight for me was getting to help pick/harvest hops. Everyone in the whole place had piles of hops on their table wrere drinking and picking away. Fun time! read more

This brewery is in the heart of Stevensville. They have a pretty good selection of beers including IPAs, Pilsners, dark stouts, and Belgiums. Staff is friendly. They have a good amount of seating inside and a small outdoor area with picnic tables and trees for shade. A few evenings a week they have live music. We were able to visit one evening when there was a band playing. The music was nice and we were able to find a table near the tunes. read more

Excellent microbrewery set-up with some tasty varieties in a cool, small town in the Bitterroot. Doesn't get much better than that.

Great beer, Great price! love the growler punch card they do. who can complain about getting a free growler? sadly they dont serve food, but they encourage you to bring in any food from any of the restaurants nearby. sometimes they even feature a local restaurant inside the brewery allowing them to serve food! favorite place to hang out in the valley read more

Wow! This place is amazing. The taproom is exactly what you'd expect to find in a small Montana town, kind of rustic and relaxed. It is bigger than most, and comfortable to hang out in for the evening. No TV with sports or talking heads. Just friendly conversation with the locals that frequent the place. The beer cannot be matched! I loved the Schwarzbier and my husband can't get enough of the Pulaski Porter and the Montana Amber. I am not the biggest IPA drinker, but their Fresh Hop was pretty darn good.You have to stop in if you are anywhere close. read more

Like most breweries throughout Montana, the beer here is solid. Somehow the decor captured Stevi's style: a little bit ranch, a little bit mountain, a little bit river.
