I have yet to get a full set installed because my drivetrain tires (FWD) are on a different tread wear schedule then the rears, but I like that Bear treats you like a valued customer even if you're getting some one-off stuff mounted. Having a flat tire in rush hour is a really stressful event. It's important not to rush to someplace and buy tires.... Don't be desperate... Do your homework. I usually go to discount tires and have always had a good experience there... but, always end up spending A LOT of Monies.... When my boss showed up to where I was he immediately brought up Bear Tires and wanted to take me there to replace my tire. ( but, my new KIA didn't come with a spare or a jack and I was waiting on KIA roadside) I had him just drop me off at work so I could re-group.. get work done and do some homework on tires. I called around... I have to Say that Michael the owner was extremely nice. Quoted me all of the options I brought up. (I was asking about- replacing 3-4 tires with new or used as well as just replacing the one tire with new or used. My Kia- Roadside would only take me to a dealership and was going to charge me 70.00 to take me to Bear which was 8 MILES AWAY!!!! So I re-joined AAA and had them take me. With traffic and the issues he had getting my car on the tow truck we got there after closing. Michael had advised that they would be working late and we could knock on the back and they would let me put my car inside and they would fix my tire in the morning. Got there... it's in a really commercial area so no restaurants or anything I could easily walk to. Tried to talk the tow truck driver into dropping me off someplace. (he didn't really respond and pretty much took off as fast as he could!) LOL So I've never taken UBER but, didn't want to stress so thought I'll try them out. When giving my info the owner for him to be able to call me the next day he asked if I had another car out there to go home. I explained I was going to take an UBER. Although he had so much to do (as he'd told me over the phone they were staying late) he said.. we will do it now so you don't have to worry about it. I can NOT explain or express the feeling that came over me. ( I WAS NOT expecting them to fix my tire that night) It was like he put the Cherry on top of my day for it to end WAY better than it started! I'm a Midwestern gal- and have to be honest... felt like I was back in the Midwest!!! I would refer Bear tires anyone and have shared on My FB. Look at all the awesome reviews! I'm sorry for the gal that lives in Vista (I do to) that had one of her tires go flat... but, the fact the owner/Manager replaced it with a new tire is pretty awesome. I usually call but for the first time I tried their website(really easy to navigate) to find my size and was able to request a quote. Michael (owner) was very quick to reply back via email along with a few recommendations on tires. The tire i wanted a quote on was not in stock but surely enough there was something just like it at a great price and tire rating that Michael had suggested. Atmosphere: Small place; about 3 places in the garage for tires to be changed out. Lobby/ waiting room available(about 8 chairs) with TV & soda machine. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AT ALL COST. I went to this place because I bought tires a few years ago and it was reliable and trustworthy. However, I recently took my Prius to replace all 4 tires and ended up with missing tire hub covers and one air cap missing too. I asked to speak with the manager Mr. Mike Power, and three employees went to see my car, agreeing and claiming that my Prius was in such condition when I first took it there for the tires' replacement. I know my car well, and they were all trying to convince me of something that was not true! The tire hub covers were missing in three tires! Ok so here is the service you get at Bear's... We roll in seven minutes until closing. I ask for a used tire matching the flat on the young ladies car that followed us in. First off he could have told me to pound sand. They closed in minutes! Nope!!! He looked and didn't have my tire BUT offered to patch the bad one. Last Tuesday I bought a used 2007 Sequoia at Miramar Motorsports. It came with 4 new BFG tires, which Bears Tires had put on. Somehow on the way home I encountered a road hazard that sliced the inside sidewall of the driver's side tire. I knew this was bad luck and was going to my responsibility 100% but contacted Miramar Motorsports just in case they could work with Bears Tires and BFG to possibly warranty the tire. I received a call back that Bears Tires had made an exception for this unique situation and agreed to replace the tire for only a $25 labor charge. I drove down there and they put the new tire on within 30 minutes. I am beyond grateful for Bears Tires exceptional customer service - thank you! read more

Great shop! Very knowledgeable staff! I went there today to have my rear tires mounted on my aftermarket wheels. They did a great job! However one of the caps of my wheels was broken when they took it off to balance it. It was probably old and brittle, but no one let me know it broke until when I was about to leave. Actually, they gave me my car back to no rear caps (not a problem. Maybe they forgot) but I had to ask for them back. Then they told me one was broken . Again, this is a great shop and I highly recommend them. Just remove your caps if you can before going hahah it's gonna cost me another $40 to replace this one. read more

I asked the guy at the desk if he could take a look (my faint memory is saying ponytail and glasses? 40+) and he IMMEDIATELY walked outside with me. Told me it was perfectly safe and described in detail the reasoning which made perfect sense. He was SO friendly, which was so refreshing for customer service in a big city, and didn't try to take advantage of my lack of knowledge or belittle me for it.
