When I arrived, I was quoted about an hour, which I understood. While I was there, he overheard me mentioning that I had somewhere I needed to be and went out of his way to help get my car taken care of faster. I ended up being in and out in about 20 minutes. I usually go to Discount Tire because the inspection is free, but this time reminded me why "free" isn't always worth it. The last time I had a tire issue there, I waited over 3 hours before anyone even looked at my car, only to be told I needed a new tire. This time, I went to Firestone with a nail in my tire. The first thing on the list was a new radiator which they said had a crack and after having a second opinion, there is no crack no leak. If I could give this Firestone 100 stars I would but I guess I'm limited to 5. I'm a mechanic myself and typically never pay or trust a shop to work on my vehicles but unfortunately due to a bunch of time constraints I have going on at the moment I had no choice but to pay a shop as my Hummer needed some complex repairs on short order. I can tell you in all my years in this space I have never experienced a more dedicated and professional team of people. I feel like the whole shop came together to help me out, and they are honest and straight forward. If they tell you something isn't right you don't have to question it, they are telling you the truth. Saying they went above and beyond would be an understatement. I should also mention these are not people I previously knew, this was the first time I met all of them. I just had a friend that referred me to them. Special huge shout out to Sean! Ask for Sean though I'm sure anybody there would do you right. On top of it all, their local knowledge in San Diego is unparalleled. One challenge we came across as they had my fuel tank down for a pump repair is they found the fuel inlet had a small leak, and rather than have to replace the tank for thousands of dollars they had a connection with a local plastics fabricator that was able to restore the tank to better than new for an incredibly reasonable price. I could go on and on. Bottom line, it's not a shop you need to be skeptical about. This industry is a tough industry, things don't always go perfect or in a straight line despite expectations but however it goes these guys have your back and will get across the finish line with grace. read more

I was recently having some other maintenance done on my car in the same center that Lee Rollins is located. I've been a return customer and during the other maintenance discovered I was in severe need of replacing all four of my tires. They worked with the owner of the other shop and between the two shops they made the needed moves from shop to shop without the need for me to make additional trips there to move my vehicle back and forth the two shops. My Mercedes dealer told me my front brake pads need to be replaced. I Called this business to request a quote to replace brake pads. They would not quote a price and said they would need to inspect them and maybe needed rotors too. I agreed to an appointment for inspection five days out. The available day was my third choice. They offered a lifetime alignment warranty. It was convenient as I could drop my car off and bike home. Over the years I've gotten to know the the guys that run the shop: Robert and Vinny. They provided great service keeping my Civic running great. I upgraded to a 2006 Civic Hybrid and Robert and Vinny have kept it running as well. They charge less than the Honda dealer and are nicer to work with. I never had that great neighborhood garage you always trust your car with till now. I don't worry about my car not working. If anything breaks I'm sure Robert will get it fixed or point me to the right place to go. My main concern is where my next road trip will be to. I have a 50qt Yeti type cooler I wanna fill with exotic out of town ice cream. read more

I was referred to this shop by a neighbor who has been using them for years and speaks highly of them. I always thought that Firestone just did tires, but this is a full service shop. I was able to get in quick for an alignment and check of the bushings on my 2002 Toyota 4-runner. All other recommended shops I called did not have an appointment for more than a week out. Work was done all in one day and I was provided with a detailed receipt showing me the alignment numbers green and within approved limits. This shop is family owned, friendly, very professional, and the guys who run it have been here 35-40 years! I can highly recommend them from my experience. read more

I have used Yelp for many years, but this is the first time that I felt compelled to share my experience with a review. Let me start by simply saying THANK YOU to Mark, Robert, and Crew! I was having trouble with my 2015 VW GTI and received a $4500 quote for repair from another German auto repair shop. I was actually referred to Mark and team by another mechanic that I trusted as he was too swamped to get my car in. In trying to keep this short, I'll simply say that Mark and Crew repaired my car for a total of about $1300 ($3,200 less than my previous quote!). What's more important to me is that they only repaired things that actually needed to be repaired. There was absolutely ZERO upselling here...they not only repaired the car timely, they actually found the problem. My previous quote didn't even include the item that was repaired here - which means that I could have paid $4500 and still had the same issues? Vinny and Robert have been absolutely outstanding since my first visit here over 5 years ago--this review is long overdue! The customer service is outstanding and they'll make you feel welcome and help you understand everything going on with your car issues and repairs. Prices are good, even for a broke graduate student like I used to be! I was always able to bring my dog while I waited for an oil change, and they gave me rides when I needed a lift for a longer repair. I miss bringing my Honda Fit here since I moved out of state! I took my car into LR Firestone for a SMALL oil leak. When I brought my car home and parked it overnight, I found my car literally pouring oil from underneath, which has never happened before (photos attached). I immediately called LRF to make them aware of the situation, and their response was, "it's not our fault, BMWs leak, bring it back to us or don't." Mind you my car is a newer model with low mileage and has never leaked oil before. They couldn't take a look at my car right away, so I decided to cancel my follow up appt with them, and instead took my car into Pep Boys. They fixed the problem immediately and let me know what LRF did wrong (write up attached) and advised me to call and request a refund for their mistake. My car has not leaked one drop of oil since its repair. I called LRF to let them know what they did and they basically told me too bad, we'd not refunding you, BMWs leak, what do you want us to do, and hung up. This issue has not only cost me time and money, I have also had to spend extra money to have my parking spot cleaned due to the HOA complaining about the massive leak. AVOID this business at all costs! HORRIBLE experience all around. read more

I've been taking all my cars for alignment here for years. This time I went here to get one of my cars rims swapped out. Talked to Vinny and his team took care of me and also did an alignment same day. I set an appointment in advance since this work will take half a day. Vinny called me back few hours later car look awesome with new rims and alignment done! They Also kept my car clean by putting plastic liners on drivers seat and placed the old rims in back seat row. These guys are amazing. I came in because my tire was making a popping noise and it turns out the wheel was actually loose. They fixed it as part of the inspection and didn't even charge for it. They also changed my oil and I had my car back within hours on a Saturday. Robert was extremely helpful and communicative. It is refreshing to have found an auto shop that is transparent and doesn't take advantage of me as a girl who knows nothing about cars. They are very thorough with their work and are patient enough to explain things to me at the level I (someone with very little car knowledge) can understand. My family and I have been with them for more than five years and serviced nine different cars of all makes and mileages. We are very satisfied with this Firestone's services. This place is great! Super easy to make an appointment. I got there not really knowing what to expect as my tire pressure was low for a while and I put it off..and put it off.. until finally bringing my car to get an inspection. The inspection was quick and painless. The technicians checked all my tires, removed one nail, patched the hole and had the keys in my hand in about 30 minutes max, mind you they were pretty busy as it was a Saturday afternoon. Let's just say it probably goes without saying that it's hard to find a great repair shop that treats you not only fairly but goes above and beyond the call of duty. Firestone exceeds all my expectations. They are friendly, informative, efficient, knowledgeable, through, accommodating and precise. This is the first time I've been to this Firestone and was recommended by my BF. Since my car was past due on repairs I expected the worst. My brakes were acting weird and my check engine light was on and it was vibrating too much on the freeway. Oh brother. The waiting room has coffee, a flat screen TV, free WiFi and comfortable seats. Since we live in close proximity to Firestone we got a quick ride home while waiting for repairs. Came in at about 8:00 AM and they had an estimate for me rather quickly. When I saw the quote pages were thick I was not surprised. Robert went over each page and covered not only what I had asked to be looked at but at the whole vehicle, listing each repair recommendation in the order of importance. So I could if needed pick and choose the repairs I could afford now and save up for the repairs that could wait. What I especially appreciate while going over the list of recommended repairs, Robert was very patient, kind and willing to answer all my questions. The pricing was itemized and I believe was fair and reasonable. My car is running very smoothly now thanks to all the great people at Firestone!
