Great pick me up spot before class! The baristas at the coffee counter are very speedy and make some great iced matched lattes. Plus, the drinks are VERY well priced. One of the best salad bars in the loop! Beatrix has it all, a hot bar, salad bar, soup station, hummus bar, coffee shop, pizza place, actual bar, etc. The food is a little pricey for my grad student budget, but it's a great place to grab a healthy bite. Their mac and cheese is amazing, and I love how many options the salad bar has, there's something for everyone. They also have a coffee bar with plenty of dairy free options and baked goods. If you head downstairs there's a bar and a bunch of tables, couches, more cozy seating areas. It's a really great vibe for meeting friends or going on a date. The lighting is dim, so not the best place to read a book, but there is free WiFi. read more

The hot food looks great and the salad and grain bars have so many beautiful options. The basement seating area is swanky with a full bar. The regular Beatrix restaurants are some of my favorite breakfast spots in the city. It shouldn't come as a surprise that the market version hits the spot too! I've been in a dozen times now for breakfast and lunch. The selection of prepared foods and the cold salad bar are superb. Yes, it can get expensive by weight, so just go in moderation if your afraid of this style. Or, grab one of the many non-weight items. Lunch does become bananaland between 12-1ish, so swing by before or after the rush and avoid the madness. Now, today, I had one of the best breakfast burritos I've ever had. Period. The chicken tinga burrito with eggs and peppers is almost life changing. The unfortunate thing is they change menu items weekly, so I might have to wait some time to have it again. I wish this was around when I went to school in the city - I would be here everyday! I've always been a fan of Beatrix, and when the concept of a Beatrix Market started, I was excited. I love the variety of options they have. From salads, to chips and guac, to grab and go items, this place is great. I love the personal deep dish pizzas here. The thin crust was good too, but I would just stick to deep dish if I come here. It was super flavorful and had a good balance of cheese, sauce and toppings. I also think it's very reasonably priced. The employees are super friendly and service didn't take too long. I come here often, so I'm disappointed in what I experienced today. I was told it would take 7 minutes for sausage because they were out. I chose to wait. It ended up taking 15 minutes. I don't mind waiting a few minutes, but that time estimate was way off and for a breakfast market that people drop into quickly before work, it's not ok. read more

If you're looking for quick, flavorful and healthy food options in the Loop, I highly recommend Beatrix Market. The featured entrees change frequently to give you a nice variety. They have recently added some new items to the entree rotation, with the chicken tikka being my personal favorite! I quite like the pizza as well since it comes in both a standard and deep dish variety. At a co-worker's recommendation, I stopped in today for a quick bite to eat. I wasn't sure what I was craving, but I figured this place would have a variety of choices. Oh. MAN. This place has it all. A hot buffet with rotating menu (I'm talking pasta, roasted veggies, even a taco bar), a HUGE salad bar with a ton of options, a coffee and baked goods bar, even a refrigerated section with snacks and drinks packed to-go! Everything is charged by weight, so feel free to indulge in your favorites while also taking a sample-size serving of some new things. For about $10, I filled my box with all sorts of goodies: healthy stuff like mushrooms with lemon and thyme, steamed broccoli, and roasted spaghetti squash... to not so healthy stuff like an Italian meatball and mac and cheese. Honestly, everything was good (the mac and cheese was GREAT), and I was full and happy at the end of my meal. And while there were several other people milling about and browsing the buffet and salad bar, I never felt crowded and everything seemed well-stocked. Check-out was friendly and efficient, which is a big plus in the Loop. I am really looking forward to coming back for another smorgasbord-style lunch! read more

My husband and I went on Saturday morning for breakfast and our experience was amazing! All the staff members are smilly and very friendly. The atmosphere is great, the decoration is adorable! They have lots of options to grab and go and an incredible salad/hot bar. My husband had a breakfast sandwich (egg, bacon and cheese), I had some scrambled egg whites, spicy hummus (a must go, for sure!) and a detox kale salad (delicious). This place is set up like a cafeteria and since it was our first time there, we kind of wandered around a bit checking stuff out before deciding to eat there. The employees were very inviting, friendly, and helpful. There's a ton of seating, though it doesn't seem like it at first glance. Go downstairs, there's so much more room! Overall, it's just a great, relaxed atmosphere. There are so. many. food choices here. My husband and I are vegetarians and had no problem finding more food than we could possibly eat. We were going to be walking around a lot, so we ate pretty light. Still, it was $20 just for our two plates. I was slightly surprised because we didn't have much food, but I don't think it's terribly high priced for the area. But then we started eating. Y'all. I love this Beatrix because it is so conveniently located right beside DePaul Law and across the street from DePaul business school. The chai lattes here are perfect & the Joy Cookies are phenomenal. I love coming here every Monday when I work nearby. The baristas are awesome! They are super knowledgeable and make some killer drinks (my current favorite is the Turmeric Chai Latte made with oat milk and a shot of espresso). What a great addition to the area! My boss has been raving about the restaurant and when she found out they were opening a market near our office she insisted I visit. I love the variety they offer and the build-your-own concept. There is SO much to choose from! Don't go here hungry. Went for a late dinner last night and our portions were very disappointing. There was no bread delivered before the meal, either. I got the rigatoni and my companions got the honey chicken and the mushroom risotto. All were delicious, but not enough to fill any of us. The restaurant was not crowded yet we had to search for our waitress for drinks and the check. Perhaps a good fit for a nice lunch, but not for a dinner. read more
