The modern space looks like it could be great for work. Theres great lighting and spacious tables. There's two rooms, but the back room has the music too loud at times. At times, the WiFi has been spotty which I don't understand because it's located in an office building which should have good connectivity. The coffee has been pretty decent and I appreciate that they will give it to you in proper mugs when stay. I've gotten food a few times, but been pretty disappointed. It's fairly bland and boring. If you stick to work and coffee here, it's a decent wfh spot.

Near the end of our week in Chicago, not having found a decent breakfast spot, we found The Good Eating Company. Finally! Excellent food, great coffee (if you've seen my reviews, you know I'm a coffee snob), friendly and fast service and wonderful atmosphere. They have it all. My wife ordered a croissant egg sandwich with bacon on the side and I had the chorizo egg scramble. Two Americanos topped it off. We. Will. Be. Back. Great spot a short walk from our hotel. ------- Day 2: I ordered the croissant and my wife ordered the Shaksuka. Croissant is SO flaky! The Shaksuka has a good kick. Another win! ----- Day 3: Final day in Chicago. My wife had the croissant again (amazingly flaky and fresh). I tried the Just Breakfast with sausage. Also very good. It would have been splittable. Our server all three days was Arias and he was most hospitable! Recommended a coffee shop in Portland we will try when we get home.

We decided to come here for a WFH and study session, and it turned out to be the perfect spot on a beautiful Chicago day. The espresso macchiato was great, and while the banana bread was a bit on the dry side, it was packed with flavor. If you're looking for a chill place downtown to grab lunch or get some work done, this is definitely the spot. The cafe has plenty of seating both in the front and back, but if you're into natural light, the front area is ideal. It's bright, spacious, and has outlets and WiFi, making it super convenient for working. The WiFi can be a little spotty at times, but overall, it's still a great place to be productive. We ended up spending quite a bit of time here and got a lot done. Highly recommend it! Also, it's just a 1-minute walk to the Riverwalk, which makes it a great spot to take a quick break and enjoy the views. Perfect location for getting some work done and then stepping outside for a bit of fresh air!

My review is just for the coffee only since I haven't tried any of their food yet, but I stopped by for an afternoon coffee and had a great experience. The staff is very friendly and the space is great for remote work or studying. I got espresso on ice and it was smooth and not bitter. It was very affordable and I liked the variety of sweeteners at the coffee bar as well. Also super close to the river walk.

The buttermilk one particularly gave county fair funnel cake vibes and the lemon poppyseed one reminded me a lot of a lemon bar lol verrry lemon-y (in an indulgent-good way). Friendly lady at the interior counter nook. We visited on a Monday at 9 am and there was no line at all.

Recommended some items to us and after hearing we were on a donut tour, even threw in a freebie. Only outdoor seating available, but the weather was perfectly lovely. Everything led up to (finally) some lovely, super soft fluffy fried donuts. Glazed Donut and Strawberry Glazed Donut were exactly the pillowy, yeasted texture I was looking for and the latter even had a little extra tartness from the strawberries, which you could tell was made from real fruit! The Lemon Poppyseed Cake Donut ended up being a banger as well; great balance between sweet and sour, not dry at all, and cross between crumbly and a melt in your mouth texture. The Apple Fritter was the only miss. Had an odd aftertaste that almost reminded me of curry powder and was texturally super hard, like bits of cardboard.
