After checking in we were seated on a nice covered pontoon boat with lots of room. The captain and his first mate (think that's what they are called), were very nice! Captain Dick was very informative on the area and explained what we were seeing through the tour. We had two little girls on our tour that never saw dolphins. So Captain Dick made sure when we spotted them (which was several times), to take a little extra time near them so the girls could get a good view! At one point he pulled out two little dolphin keychains for the girls to have. It was really sweet and probably made their night! Our tour was scheduled to be and hour and 15 min, but since he took his time to give the little girls extra viewing of the Dolphins our tour ended up being close to an hour and a half - an hour and forty five minutes! It was a great tour, great price, and beautiful scenery! You're also allowed to BYOB :)

Being it is a holiday we get there early and have breakfast within walking distance so we can get parking. Must have been our lucky day as we got the best parking space in the lot. We were instructed to arrive 45 minutes before the tour. Since we were there and checked in early as was the other group of six we left actually a few minutes early. The weather was perfect and we had on plenty of sunscreen. JD led the boats to different spots on the island so that we were able to see Dolphins. I was surprised that in the middle of the day that we were able to see so many. JD was kind and took pictures and sent them to everyone through What's App. What a great way to spend the day as well learn the island. The entire length of the trip was 2 1/2 hours. Definitely a must do on anyone visiting the Island. Just be warned you will get wet so plan accordingly. You are given a small cooler with ice and bottle waters

No trip for us to check out a place would be complete without seeing what boating clubs were…read moreavailable. We're big on boating of all kinds and always want to know where the best places might be to keep a boat, have some fun amenities available and to meet some like-minded friends. We were very impressed with the facilities here which were nicely thought out and minus the snooty attitude found at some yachts clubs. Although there are no slips for boats (slips being our preference), the moorings are such that it would be easy enough to get out to one's boat. There are tennis courts here, a nice sized pool, kayaks and canoes for club members to use if you don't have your own, and a very attractive clubhouse with bar. Seems like the club hosts all kinds of events too which is something our current yacht club offers and that we appreciate. It's a great way to meet people. We were given the grand tour by one of the owners, an extremely affable man by the name of Milledge, who coincidentally told us he left SC for a time to live in Massachusetts but wisely returned home to run this terrific family owned facility. This is a yacht club with the feel of being a summer camp for grown-ups. The boating season is long in SC which is part of the draw for us; it's so relatively short here in New England. We loved the vibe, we loved the views and the amenities are very much desirable to us. This seems to be the kind of place we are looking for. When the time comes, this just might be the place we join.

I've sailed the Low Country Regatta here several times. They have good launch facilities, pool and…read moretennis courts, a nice water front bar, and race committee to handle 3 courses. Saturday dinner is great. Dockside helpers don't seem to have read the launching instructions handed out to competitors though. When you follow what the instructions in the competitors packet says, the dock master bitches at you for not doing things they way he thinks they should be done. Other than that, it's a nice club.
