Low county feel before you get to the beach. We arrived on a Saturday around 10am, and were able to find parking near beach access. This is a lovely beach. A lot more biodiversity than most other beaches along the coast. It also felt more spacious, less touristy than others we frequent during high season.

I don't know how old Mr. Campbell is, but he's definitely up there in years, and his passion and knowledge are incredible. I sincerely hope someone is being prepared to carry the mantle when he's ready to step away, because there would be a major void in Hilton Head's cultural scene without him. Our Charleston based tour planner and staff at our Beaufort B and B raved about Janet's tour and how she brings the city of Beaufort and its magnificent homes and history to life. Unfortunately her delegate who gave us our tour on June 5 was UNACCEPTABLE. I believer we would have enjoyed our two hours more just walking around on our own. We learned more of Beaufort's history, houses and residents on our Dolphins Adventures Tour than we did with this replacement guide. There were only 4 of us on the tour and the guide spent the entire time talking with two phd child psychology students, a couple, trying to impress them with his knowledge of their field of study. He spent more time on this than talking about Beaufort. We traditionally love walking tours as it allows for engagement with the guide etc. We were ignored like we were not even on the tour zero engagement the exact opposite of every other one of our tours on our two week trip. . A church was unlocked for us to walk in. Unfortunately a number of others sauntered in the open door and we had to wait a good 15 minutes while the others moseyed around the interior used the bathroom (queued) etc. as our guide had to wait until they left. Parking was easy to find in the waterfront marina departure point. Raul led the tour, and did a decent job in covering the history of Beaufort and going over both history and architecture of homes in the area, as well as pointing out where some movies were filmed locally. I liked that the tour ventured out of the historic part of town to go to the Beaufort National Cemetery, as it's one of those places people visiting would otherwise likely skip out on. Overall, I'd rate the tour 4 stars, as I didn't like it as much as other Atlantic coastal town tours I've done in the past (Southport, for example), and this tour was a bit more expensive in comparison (but still worth it). I also thought it was a bit much to be told to leave a review by the guide, and also receive messages via both email and text message to review as well.

I think Dolphin Adventures is a bit of a misnomer. Yes we saw dolphins close up a mother and her kids but the highlights was the ecology of the area. We learned about how everything works together in this environment , sat right over and oyster bed and learned the history of oyster farming. Viewed homes from the water and learned their stories and history. Captain John pointed out more bird species than I suspect most people see on a birding tour. The two hours went by so quickly we were sad to see the tour end. If we return to Beaufort we definite would take another adventure with Captain John. If you only do one thing in Beaufort take this tour. It was one of the highlights of our two week swing through Beaufort Savannah and Charleston. Not to be missed!!!!

We went with my bestie and her 6 yo son and it was such a fun time. Idk what I was expecting, but free roaming snakes just feet away from you without any kind of netting or enclosure definitely wasn't it.
