I've been to this nail salon before and have always had good experiences, which is why today's visit was especially disappointing. The service felt very rushed, and the quality of the work didn't match what I've received in the past. I got a full acrylic set, and the technician was extremely rough and aggressive during the process. The final result looks sloppy and not at all like what I asked for. For our pedicures, no callus work was done, which was actually the main reason we came in. I'm really hoping this was just an off day because I've had better service here before, but unfortunately this visit did not meet expectations. read more

I showed them exactly what I wanted and it it came better than I imagined. I chose a peachy color on arcylics. I rarely get my nails done, but if I do again. This is the place I would go back to! The lady who did my nails were rough on them because they hurt that night. I got the looks I wanted. However, I didn't like how she didn't really cut my long nails and just put the tips ON the TIP of my nails. She also didn't file the edges of my nails. I got my nails done here in August, and they looked great. The salon itself is lovely. The artist did exactly what I wanted (gel polish), and she was very kind and fun to work with. However, when I went back in early September to get the polish removed, I received really terrible service. I told the gentleman (I believe his name tag said "TINTIN") doing the polish removal for me that I had on regular gel polish. According to the salon, this service should have cost me $15. The gentleman proceeded to tell me that I actually had on artificial nails, which I did not. I tried to explain this to him, but he kept cutting me off, telling me that I was wrong. He then proceeded to use an electric nail file/buffer and really damage my nails. I assume that because he thought he was right and I was wrong, he had to file down the "artificial nails" more than he would just regular gel polish. Several times I had to yank my hand away due to him hurting me. This didn't seem to deter him. My nails were bright pink afterwards and painful to the touch. Now, over a month later, my nails have been growing back out, and you can see a clear change in thickness between my new, natural nails, and where he filed them down to a thin, delicate, and bendy nail. I was charged $30 for "artificial nail removal" at the end of the whole experience. To sum it up, the artist who did my nails did a beautiful job. However, if you do go to this salon, I would recommend avoiding TINTIN, especially if you need polish removed. read more

I live in California (SF Bay Area) most of the time where my long time manicurist has been with me over 20 years. If she sees this she will say that I cheated on her (I still love you, Dep Gai) IYKYK. Anyway we also have a home in Minnesota and I was here on a visit + work longer than anticipated and was desperate for a fill and pedicure. I lucked out finding Tiffany and Beaute Contour on Yelp! The salon was packed (a good sign) and everything was very clean. The men at the front desk were cordial and quickly checked me in. The pedicure chair felt new and had the massage chair technology I am used to at my home salon. Tiffany was clear in her questions and trimmed, filed and scrubbed just like i am used to. The gel pedicure came out perfect. Then we went to my gel fill and again she met all expectations. Even her products and techniques were just like home. She did NOT try to upsell me on anything and was very pleasant to speak with. I have been getting a plain french for 30 + years and it was fun to try something new. (Tiffany offered to replicate the french I came in with but I got a little excited to try something new but not wild). I got the rubbed on powder chrome over a neutral and I love it. I will recommend this place to my local Minnesota friends and to my daughters when they come visit here. The second, I was with someone who kept filing and filing away at my nails and left me with this until I asked for someone else to please try to salvage what is left of this. My nails were long. I wanted them cleaned up, with the shape to follow my finger. Idk if these technicians can't see, don't listen, or just can't file, but for $50 every two weeks, I expect perfection. Thankfully, someone else was able to shape them better and toss on some polish, but still no extra filing, no lotion, full price, and a sad attempt at an explanation why the other girl was doing this: sorry I have been getting manicures for years so please save it because that just makes it more insulting. I know I have small hands and nails but to have that pointed out literally every single time I get my nails done is upsetting. Why can't you just do my nails and not make comments about how short they are and talk about it to your coworkers? When my nail tech started my nails and used the one machine it hurt. I've gotten full sets many times and never have run into this issue. She was on her phone sometimes during my appointment and made me feel like she was rushing. Other than that, it was easy to set up my appointment and the color and shape is nice. However my full set was $57, when it's typically $40-50 at other salons. The salon did a great job getting us in. My manicurist was extremely rushed. The nails were not filed uniformly and the cuticles were extremely messy. They did retry doing my nails but there is a large gap between my cuticles and the nails. When my friend and I went to put our feet in the water basin it was super hot so we asked if they could add a little water so she made it freezing and called us babies. She sanded into my actual finger which later caused it to bleed. The towels and stations were really dirty, the towels were stained and there was finger nail dust covering the counter. Then when I went to check out they tried to tell me that their grouped services pricing was not applicable for my services. So as another review said they'll try and up charge you. With so many nail salons in Maple Grove finding one that stands out is difficult. Beauty Contour Nail Lounge is a true gem amongst them. Making an appointment is easy, and you're sent at least two texts reminding you of your date and time. I never have to wait when I arrive, unlike other places. The nail salon itself is relatively new, never has a chemical smell and is neat and clean. They carry OPI and have more polish colors than you can imagine. Once you've been seated you'll notice soft music playing and the techs engage you in conversation. All the nail designers do a lovely job, but I particularly like Cindy. She gave me one of the best manicures I've ever had, and she's fun to talk with. Her attention to detail shows, as my manicure lasts much longer than I expect it to. Prices are standard for a salon that's a bit more upscale, this is not a typical hurry "you in and out" place. You never feel rushed and you can sit and dry as long as you want to. And you're never left waiting to see if your nails are are dry, your tech will keep checking them for you. I am so glad I found Beaute Contour, and I can stop shopping around for my go-to manis and pedis. Give them a try, you won't be sorry! read more

I got my first ever set of acrylics here and the design was beautiful and i was very happy with them when i originally got them . I did feel some pretty noticeable pain from the filing they did which i was not expecting. when i got home though maybe 2-3 days after i noticed how far the acrylic was away from my cuticle making it look like i had major outgrowth and not looking pristine anymore . On the fifth day not one but two of them popped off . for $70 i expect my nails to stay on at least a lot longer then 5 days . i was very disappointed with my first set of acrylics and will not be coming back . wish my first experience there would have been better . read more

This was my first time to the nail salon and I loved it. Tiffany did an amazing job on my nails and I am extremely happy. She was very friendly too. My only one complaint is that masks aren't required and you are not seated 6 feet apart from the people sitting next to you (and there is not plexiglass in between you either) as you are in other salons while getting your nails done. I paid for a Herbal Spa Therapy Pedicure it was nice but not worth $65. I did not get the hot stone massage that is included. The water was not hot a little cold. I at first thought they charged me for a different service by mistake. Also, when she rang me up she told me it was $60 I signed but never got the receipt, I never saw what she rang me up for so I don't know if she included a tip. I check my account and I was charged $66. So I don't know if she added a tip or if it was tax or if she made a mistake and charged me a different service, I'm not sure never got the receipt. I think the technician was new she was not familiar with menu. She didn't really know how to do hot towel or paraffin wax but I didn't care I was tired. I work long hours on my feet all day so I'm not going to complain, I just won't come back. read more

She went back to get them fixed and thought to try acyclic this time based on her experience 2 days prior. Tiffany fixed her nails and made my cousin pay for a whole NEW set. That was extremely upsetting since it was their fault in the first place her 2 day old nails were already coming off. Every time I go to this salon -- I personally feel unwelcomed, and rushed. Tin does an awesome job on my toes every time I go to see him! He does reflexology during the foot massage and it really adds to the quality of the pedicure!
