I usually don't go to this nail salon but I needed my nails done for an event and they're right up the street from my house, but never again! They only had 3 people working, so I was waiting for about 15 minutes before being attended too, and they had very limited amount of nail polishes. I visited this salon the Friday afternoon before Labor Day weekend. It was my first - and last - visit to this location. I took my mom along for manis and pedis, as I had a coupon for Beautiful Nails. The service was appalling - both of the women doing our nails got up multiple times during our appointments to help other customers. The woman helping my mom actually got up and did several eyebrow waxes while my mom was waiting in the pedicure chair. Aside from the horrible customer service, the ladies didn't even do decent manis or pedis. My mother's toenails were cut so short that she bled, and her already-short fingernails were cut lower than I thought humanly possible. My polish job was better than hers, but I still left with a substantial amount of polish on my fingers and toes, not just on my nails. If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Horrible customer service, shoddy work, and a serious lack of sanitation and sterilization means that I will not be returning. read more

I stopped by to get a fill and was very disappointed with their customer service and cleanliness. They recycled the used nail polish and liquid they use for acrylic nails, so gross! They had an entire bottle next to them they could have used but decided to dump the used back in the bottle. Did i mention there was stuff floating in the bottle of nail polish that shouldn't have been there?? Also, the lady that did my nails, was not very friendly and huffed and puffed the entire appointment. Horrible job! Nails lifting after 3 days and the acrylic is also crackling. The woman was the one who sits second from the entrance. She was on her phone the entire time and rushed when buffing which caused scraping and cuts on my cuticles! Unbelievably horrible. read more

FILTHY, DISGUSTING AND UNSANITARY!!! I wish I could give this nasty establishment zero stars. It's hands-down the most horrific hole-in-the-wall excuse for a nail salon I've ever stepped into. My first (and last) visit was earlier this summer, when I was in the Landmark area and needed to get my nails done quickly. I went in with the intention of getting a pedicure and a gel manicure, but walked out with a regular manicure and just a polish change on my toes. This is because while I was waiting to be serviced, I observed the nail techs using the same implements (cuticle nippers, scissors, razors, files, etc.) on multiple customers without cleaning or sanitizing them in between. When it was finally my turn, I absolutely refused to let the tech who serviced me use anything other than an emery board on my nails. I didn't let her touch me with anything metal because all of their metal implements looked filthy. I didn't see a sterilizing machine anywhere in the salon, nor did I see any tech use alcohol or barbicide to clean anything. The salon itself had filthy floors and the pedicure chairs and bowls were grimy-looking. I opted for a polish change on my toes instead of a full pedicure because I didn't want to soak my feet in those awful-looking bowls. Their towels were also dingy and stained, and it appeared that all they did was flip the towels over between customers instead of laying out fresh ones for each new customer. I went in with OPI gel polish on my nails; after wrapping them in acetone-soaked cotton and foil to remove the gel, the tech tried to scrape off the remaining bits of gel using her own nails instead of an orange stick or another appropriate implement. I was done. I told her to just let my nails soak a little longer in acetone and just re-polish them with regular polish, not gel polish; I just wanted to get out of there as quickly as I could. I will never go back there and am seriously thinking about reporting them to whatever state agency oversees nail salons in Virginia. read more

I read all of the reviews before trying Beautiful Nails and because they're kind of mixed, I wasn't sure what to expect. I really want to thank Lia M. because from her advice I made an appointment with Yvonne (Nina doesn't work on Mondays) and she was fantastic! She really takes her time with your hands and feet (I had a mani/pedi) and they turned out beautiful. I'm so used to going new places and having the person working on my nails be a complete amateur so Beautiful Nails was a welcome treat! While the ambience isn't the most luxurious, it is clean and their massage chairs look new and are absolutely divine...I could sit in one of those things for hours. I talked to Yvonee for a while and she said it's best to make an appointment, but if you are a walk in try to come anytime on the weekdays. read more

I have been getting my nails done every two weeks for the past 4 years. I was a time crunch and could not make it to my normal place so I decided to do a walk-in here. Outside had dull lighting, in a strange location.... but that is besides the point. The facility itself is not very well-kept. It was run down an the back sink was pulling from the wall. Another woman walked in at the exact time I did, and the nail tech decided it would be a good idea to do our nails at the same time....TALK ABOUT RUSHED. She did a nail repair, acrylic fill-in and polish change in record speed (which was not good). I explained to her that my nails looked uneven before she started polishing, unfortunately this resulted in a bad attitude from her about my comment and she began to rush more. I am generally not that picky about my nails, but it was the day before graduation. Needless to say, her record speed resulted in lifting, chipping and damaged nails in under a week (also a record). I am honestly writing this to say, you get what you pay for. I will not be returning here and will pay the extra $10-$15 dollars a trip to have my nails done properly. read more

Yesterday was my first and last visit to Beautiful Nails. It's right around the corner from my house so I thought I would save the drive time instead of driving to my regular nail salon in Springfield... bad choice. It was the middle of the day on a week day so it wasn't very busy - there were 3 customers in there when I arrived and one was getting ready to pay. It was quite a warm day outside and I guess the salon doesn't have A.C.? The door was propped wide open so I was constantly smelling cigarette smoke of people outside the door. Steve Harvey was playing loudly on the tv, doing a segment about sex. I'm not sure the name of my technician but she seemed to be the one running the place - at least I'm guessing by the fact that she answered the phone multiple times while she was doing my nails. She kept making appointments over the phone by calling out "Jackie, 1:00 tomorrow" (or whatever time was requested) but Jackie never responded and nobody wrote anything down. I requested a pedicure and a gel manicure. I was a bit disappointed in the color selections but I found a combination that worked for me. She seated me in the pedicure chair to soak while she was checking out the previous customer. I saw that the woman in the chair next to me was storing her keys on the nail technician's tool bench - yuck. That should be a clean space for clean tools, not customers' belongings. When she picked up her keys a brush got caught in the lanyard and fell on the floor - the customer picked it up and placed it back on the bench. I figured "the technician will bring out a new set of tools so I don't need to say anything" but of course she did not, and used those tools, which I assume were used, and the brush that fell on the floor. The towels were stained with nail polish so I don't really trust that they were clean either. At least she asked if I wanted the blade to remove calluses rather than just using it (I said no, just the stone). Moved over to the manicure table. While trimming my cuticles she completely obliterated one of my cuticles while using the probably dirty clipper. She didn't say anything, just poured the styptic liquid on it and kept working despite my wincing. I was getting gel so I had to stick my hand in the UV light several times and the injury definitely burned under the light. I've kept it clean but it's quite red today so I'm a bit worried I'm developing an infection. She also filed my nails badly - some are smooth but not straight, and one is pretty jagged. Moving on to the actual polish - she gave me 2 coats of the gel polish, which is a light goldish-nude color, and I think it really needed at least 3 because you can definitely still see my nail through the color. Then it came time to pay. I was charged $55... And the technician was staring me down and watching me fill out the credit card slip, so I ended up tipping $10, way more than she deserved for her terrible service, because I was feeling pressured by her stare. I'll definitely be going back to my preferred nail salon in Springfield next time. It's a much longer drive but so worth the trip to have services done in a comfortable, relaxing, and clean environment. This was the worst experience I've ever had at a nail salon! Please save your money and go somewhere else. I came in and asked for a full set and a pedicure. Once the nail tech started doing my nails I realized that I would not have enough time for the pedicure because I was supposed to be meeting some friends. I told her that I just wanted the full set and that I would get the pedicure another time. She said would you get it if I could do your nails and pedicure at the same time and I agreed. While doing my nails she was yelling at the lady that was doing my pedicure which cause her to angrily snatch my feet and aggressively continue with the pedicure. I told her that she was hurting me but it's like they didn't care. Needless to say my nails look like a kindergartner painted them because she did not have the proper tools to complete them at the pedicure station. After over an hour of manual buffing, filing, and horrible gel paint that did not stay on the nail it was time to pay. I ask her if she expected me to pay for the nails and she said I spent over an hour on your nails. I replied by asking her if she thought my nails looked like she spent an hour doing them. She then took some alcohol and rubbed on my nails to attempt to hide all of the imperfections. She yelled loudly to the other techs that "She doesn't want to pay!" When the other techs came over to look they all agreed that my nails look horrendous. The owner gave me $20 off of my service and I left a tip because it was never about the money. Disappointment. This place is close to my house, so it's makes it very convenient, but I would prefer to drive to my old salon and this is why: staff is irresponsible. First time I made appointment with Jacky (2 weeks in advance!) I wasn't seen until 40 minutes later; second time - I made appointment 3 weeks in advance when she called me 2 hours before the appointment time telling me to come 30 minutes later than original time since she is busy and has somebody else coming the same time. I've been going to Beautiful Nails for more than 10 years. I've tried other places, but I always come back. The prices are the best I've found and I really, really like Yvonne I didn't give the salon 5 stars because I've had other staff do my mani/pedis and a few have been rough or just didn't do a good job. If I'd only ever seen Yvonne I would have given them 5 stars. It's best to make an appointment, because they are very busy. (I am a regular and I have to admit that they do squeeze me in ahead of other non-appointment people if I come in without an appointment. I know it's not fair to the others waiting, but it is one of the reasons I keep coming back.) Overall a good service and good prices. I'd recommend it. read more

Visiting this nail salon was a TERRIBLE experience. I got a mani pedi and my nail technician excessively picked skin off around my finger nails to the point where I BLED. She carried on like nothing had happened and painted over it and it stung and hurt terribly. I thought it was just my technician but my friend who came with me experienced the same thing. Aside from the current scab on my nail, she just did a very poor job of painting my nails. She applied base coat without a care in the world and it was very uneven/spotty so you could clearly see the terrible layering. She didn't get to the outer parts of my nail with the polish and it all peeled off in three days. It was just a very bad job and I was disappointed. read more
