The #1 reason I keep going back is because my hair has been FABULOUS since Scott started working his magic. #2 reason I love Beauty Bar is the atmosphere. The salon is a former schoolhouse renovated to a beautiful, rustic space. The exposed beams sharply juxtapose against the sparkling chandeliers and wide plank floors. Last night while I was there, I cozied up next to the blazing fireplace to get warmed up. How many other salons have a fireplace? The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable hair artists. I am from Vermilion - not San Francisco!! I happened to be driving up to Avon to buy products to highlight my hair. I happened to see this salon and pulled over, called to see if they could take me as a walk-in and they said yes Jenni listened to my dilemma about needing highlights. My hair was all one dark color from a recent salon and very depressing. I showed jenni the same picture I had shown the other salon, she agreed not even close to what I had wanted. So to fix , she highlighted with foils and it came out perfect! The salon , very clean, has a very nice energy and the fireplace was a nice feature to relax. Music wasn't blaring crappy music which is a plus. Claire at the front desk, friendly and professional working to get me in within 15 minutes of my call. Beauty Bar is a wonderful salon...I've been going to them for years! I won't give the name of the artist who designs my hair because its so difficult to get an appointment with him as he is always booked solid! Over the years...I've had my hair styled by many...gone to dozens of salons...there is no place nor stylist that can come close to this establishment. It's clean, easy to park as opposed to finding a space at the mall...they carry a great product assortment...their team is educated, talented and always professional. They are not cheap but worth every penny! I highly recommend Beauty Bar!!! read more

I guess it is hard for me to find a hairdresser that I really like. I cannot wear my hair straight because she cut my hair uneven. I cannot go to get my hair straightened out because if I get it cut any shorter it would be up to my ears. I asked for shoulder length and it is at least 2 1/2 inches above my shoulders in the back. I know the reason it is choppy on the bottom is because she did not look through my hair and see what my previous haircut was. My last haircut had an undercut. If she had looked through my hair at all before chopping away she would have seen that. Also my blonde highlights are placed so randomly that I literally have to be careful how my part is otherwise they are only on half of my head. I told her I always part my hair on the side. I showed her where my part was. Yet I still come with this problem every day. I also asked for the highlights to blend into my dark roots. This did not happen. I'm just tired of being annoyed with my hair. Four stars because I'm sick of bad haircuts And maybe she just had a bad day. read more

I scheduled to have my bridal party get our hair and makeup done here. A few weeks later I called to schedule my trials and I was told the stylist for two of my bridesmaids wasn't able to work that day and that I'd have to figure out what I want to do about that. I had to tell them to find another stylist, which they should have done automatically. I'm lucky that was found when I called! A few weeks later there were more issues where they were very unhelpful so I cancelled them for my bridal party. They are very unorganized. read more

I had gone to this salon a few times in 2018 and the experiences had been just fine. My last visit was horrible, however. I had already had my stylist put some red into my naturally brown hair and had asked if she could incorporate some more lighter tones and showed her a picture of my naturally redheaded daughter as inspiration. What I left with were blonde skunk Mark's through my hair, uneven roots, and just an unbelievably embarrassing color job. I complained to management after I left (I wanted to cool down and thought maybe it was just shock that had me hating it). They're solution was for me to come in again, but at that point I didn't trust them to touch my hair. After all, the girl I had seen supposedly had over a decade of coloring experience! I was afraid of it getting even more screwed up. It would've been nice to have been offered a refund, as that mess cost me $200...and then I had to spend another $200+ elsewhere to fix it. read more

DO NOT GO HERE - Ruined my hair - If I could Give it 0 stars I would. I have been to this salon on two different occasions - once in 2017 and once in 2019. Both times terrible and with different stylists. I most recently saw Shelby for a balayage. I have mid length dark brown hair and was looking to get lighter. I showed her multiple pictures of what I wanted to make sure we were on the same page. I even expressed I knew my hair was not going to get as light as the pictures on the first try and that it was going to be a process. She pointed to someone in the salon with light brown hair and said it would look more like that and I was fine with it. While my hair had color on she was doing someone else's hair and seemed far more interested in them. Once my hair was done and she was blow drying it I could tell she wanted to get to the other client and I had been there for so long I just wanted to leave. I paid and tipped and left. In the car I realized my hair was just block strips of orange and black. I've had dark hair and gone blonde before and it has never turned out like this. I drove back and she put toner on it twice. It looks exactly the same. Still just blocks of orange and black. This place is a waste of money. You would be better off dying your hair yourself. read more

I intended to get my and my bridal party's hair done here for my wedding. I wanted a simple low bun with my bangs left out and curled loosely- so very simple. After two disappointing hair trials (I had to pay full price for a second after being very unhappy with that first) I cancelled the week of my wedding and did my hair myself. Hair styles can be very subjective, but that aside, my low up-do was not even smoothed out nor did it stay in place! No product was put in it at all for shine or hold, the top wasn't flat ironed or anything to smooth it over so it had random kinks and waves all over, making it look like I just threw it up quick myself. Both time when I left the salon and was driving home, the hair started falling out! If it fell out driving home I can't imagine what would have happened during my busy wedding day. I spent $140 to end up doing my hair myself which honestly looked better. The may be excellent at cutting hair or coloring it, but they are not up to the task of wedding styles. read more
