Lia is the real deal! My husband and I decided to tie the knot officially at San Francisco City Hall a few months ago and also do a photoshoot to get photos for our reception later this year. Lia did my hair and makeup, and I was so impressed with her! First off, she's so easy to talk to, which is great for someone as awkward as me. Since I flew up to SF, I didn't have a make-up/hair trial done beforehand, and we had only discussed through email what type of look I wanted. When the day came, she showed up to my hotel room at 4:45AM (what a super star for accommodating such an early start time!), and as she worked on my makeup, she checked in with me about what she was going to use and gave me options and recs of what she thought would look good. I asked for a natural, subtle glam look, and she delivered 100%! She was right on time and ready to set up to start at 7am. If I could give Lia 20 stars, I would jump on it! I first contacted Lia 11 months before my wedding. She responded to my inquiry promptly. I could tell right off the bat that she was super friendly and that I was going to like her. She and I exchanged about a dozen emails over the next few days with general concerns and additional questions I had since I have never been able to find someone who could do my makeup without making me look "funny." Lia never lost patience with me despite how many questions I was sending her. I scheduled the trial 3 months before the big day and decided that I would also take advantage of the results and do our engagement shoot afterwards. We had to coordinate between our photographer and my husband's work schedule, which got very complicated. When we had finally narrowed down a date, we saw rain in the forecast. After coming up with another date, I had a family emergency and had to cancel last minute. Lia was patient, supportive, and flexible throughout the entire process. My makeup/hair trial went amazing. I gave her general guidance and some pictures of what I had in mind and she got to work. I have never felt comfortable giving feedback to the professionals in the past when I've not quite liked something, or wanted something different, but Lia made me feel comfortable that I asked if she could change a couple of things. It was something that would be totally out of my comfort zone, but I trusted her abilities and I felt that this was the time to try it. The results were awesome and we were both super happy with it! It was 88 degrees where we had the engagement shoot that day. Despite my life-long problems with eye-makeup running and curls flattening out, my makeup never smudged and my hair stayed curled for 4 days after. The day of the wedding was no different. Lia also did my mom's makeup and my two bridesmaids hair and everyone LOVED her. We basically had a pre-wedding girls party that morning and had a blast. Despite all the chaos and people running around and demanding my attention Lia stayed focused while she was working on me. I panicked a couple of times when I went into the bathroom and looked in the mirror, but Lia kept me calm and assured me that it was just the lighting. She had stayed behind to clean up while I did my first look which ended up with a ton of glitter all over my lips. She helped me clean it all up and reapplied my lipstick. Lia was wonderful! She recently did my hair and makeup for my June wedding at San Francisco City Hall. From the outset, Lia was so friendly and easy to communicate with, coordinate details, and discuss ideas. She was always prompt with responses to my emails. When one is prohibited from writing reviews on Yelp for almost 2 years due to conflict of interest and then that bar is lifted, the process of choosing the first place to review is quite overwhelming. An absolutely amazing makeup artist! I contacted Lia six months prior to my wedding and she was prompt in getting back to me. Initially, I was not sure how my makeup would turn out so I requested a makeup trial. At the makeup trial, Lia arrived with a big smile and calm demeanor. She asked a few questions and what kind of look I wanted, and from then she went ahead and worked her magic. She transformed me into a beautiful bride-to-be. All my bridal shower guests were in awe of how well the makeup was applied and how long it lasted. I was so impressed with her work that I went ahead and booked her for my actual wedding day for both my mother and myself. On the day of the wedding, she arrived on time, had all her supplies ready to go, explained her timeline and reassured me that everything was going to be okay. I did begin to get a bit nervous, but her calm approach allowed me to refocus and not stress. My mother found her personality to be very calm and sweet. She finished both of our makeup and hair on time and wished me all the best before leaving. After the wedding day, friends and relatives kept telling me how beautiful I looked and how nice my makeup and hair looked. Lia was AWESOME! I knew I was going to be a beautiful bride after she did my trial for our friends' wedding. For my trial she did an up-do and a light bronze makeup and I was so in love with what she did I couldn't stop looking at myself. LOL! We were out until 2 a.m. and both my hair and makeup lasted through the dancing and sweating. So for my wedding, my makeup and hair were the least of my worries (both were beautiful, by the way, and I received lots of compliments) since I knew Lia was going to do an amazing job which was a good thing since I had the worst wedding day jitters! But after 10 minutes with Lia, my nerves dissipated. She is so easy to talk to and has such a great attitude that she really put me at ease. She even gave me trail mix since I hadn't had anything for breakfast except for juice! Lia, for me, was worth every penny. Lia: you are so talented! Thank you from the bottom of my heart for making everything so easy, relaxing, and wonderful! Lia did my hair and makeup for my wedding. We did a trial to decide what would look best; Lia drove to me in Sonoma where I was working. I had had an incredibly stressful work schedule and only had the morning off that day... After spending a few hours with Lia, I felt like I had been pampered for a week! She is such a lovely person; easy going, fun, and smart. I went to a work function after our trial, and people could not believe how great my hair and makeup looked! I emailed Lia a few days before the wedding to let her know that I had decided to get eyelash extensions and to see if she had recommendations for water-based, oil free mascara. She went as far as to call Sephora and get product recommendations for me. The day of the wedding I was not nervous at all; she had my full trust, she got along with my Bridesmaids really well, and we just had a beautiful morning together. I really wish there was an option for 6 stars as I would give Lia 6 out of 5 stars!!! I used Lia for my San Fran elopement at City Hall. All contact prior to meeting Lia was through email from Australia. Lia was so helpful and kind to my individual circumstances and before I met her in SF I already felt like I already knew her and she was a dear friend. Being the only person that I would be seeing on my wedding day, away from my friends and family, Lia made me feel as special as any maid of honour could make a bride feel. I was extremely blessed! Given that I do not wear makeup at all, Lia was so patient in explaining what she was doing and allowed me to control the process the whole time.
