After my first appointment, I intentionally started booking with other estheticians at this location, and those experiences were excellent. I never had any issues with pain or my skin. This time, I didn't realize I had been assigned to Emillee again. During the waxing, I repeatedly asked her to be gentler because the pain was unbearable, but she continued anyway. The experience was extremely painful, and afterward my skin developed blisters. I've had waxing done many times before, including by other staff at this location, and I've never experienced anything like this. Throughout the appointment, she repeatedly commented that I had darker skin and darker hair. Those comments made me feel very uncomfortable and singled out. I also noticed her adding something to the wax during the appointment, although I wasn't told what it was. In addition, wax was spilled on both the floor and the table, making the entire appointment feel disorganized and unprofessional. During the service, I told her how much pain I was in and warned that I would consider taking legal action if my skin was injured because I felt my concerns were being ignored. Despite that, the service continued without any noticeable adjustment. Overall, this was one of the worst waxing experiences I've ever had. After almost 3.5 years of going to this location at EWC, I can no longer support this business…read more After being inappropriately touched and handled by an inexperienced "licensed" waxer, I took the time and steps to inform both management and corporate, only to find out that the waxer faced no disciplinary action and was not fired. What made the situation even more frustrating was the way corporate handled the follow-up. I received a random phone call from corporate, where my name was repeatedly pronounced incorrectly, only to be informed that they were closing my case. There was no meaningful resolution or explanation of what was actually being done to address the situation. I was also ghosted by the manager of this branch when I asked for an update regarding the issue and was completely ignored when I was at the front desk this weekend, despite being told that I would not be treated differently because of what happened. I am extremely disappointed with the outcome of this situation and honestly shocked by EWC's standards and lack of accountability when it comes to protecting their clients. Clients should be able to feel safe and comfortable during their appointments, and waxers should be properly knowledgeable about safe and appropriate waxing procedures, appropriate topics to discuss with clients, and, most importantly, appropriate and safe touch. After almost 3.5 years as a client, I never expected to be treated this way or to be so disappointed by how this situation was handled.
