Since moving to The Catskills, I've had to orbit myself to accomplish those go-to appointments I had while living in White Plains. One of them being my bi-weekly regular mani+pedi. I love my nail tech in White Plains so much- I wish I could clone her so she can deliver the same expertise and care in my neck of the woods. Keep dreaming, Mercedes. Keep dreaming. Beauty Depot on Wall St in Kingston, NY doesn't scream like the place where you can relax and be pampered- but they were able to fit me in on a Sunday with Lexie. My pedi session with her kicked off the usual polish removal, filling, etc. who turned out to be super patient, unhurried and smooth with her hands. For my regular, short-length nails, Lexie provided essential nail+cuticle care, lotion massage, a hot towel wrap and nail polish application. I'm not one to bitch about money when it comes to any of my beauty regimen- but the $50 for both my mani+pedi here- in this trendy side of Kingston is more than what I paid while living in White Plains. Plus theres no attention to detail and it's unkept. Whether it's a facial I'm getting, massage or whathaveyou, I'm not paying just for the end result, I'm paying for the experience- which I didn't get at Beauty D. read more

The RUDEST staff. Literally can't even be bothered to look up and greet you when you walk in. Whether there's a wait or not, saying hello to someone trying to give you money for a service is usually a great start... they can't even do that. 0/100. So many better places nearby read more

A very decent Mani Pedi. The best I have had in the area at a decent price. My only issue was the person who did the work needed to be interpreted by another person and I was a tad nervous that she would get what I needed..But all is well that ends well read more

Legit the best around. Did my wedding nails with a design, did all my bridesmaids nails, were funny, welcoming, engaging, and talented. Also for 5 bridesmaids and my own nails it cost less than the service for just me in NYC. Family owned and operated and lovely place. Highly recommend! read more

I absolutely love Beauty Depot! Tanya and John have been handing my nails for about five months now, and I've never been disappointed. I can show them any crazy design that I see online or can describe, and they'll make it happen. Never in my life have I gotten this many compliments on my nails! People even ask my fiancé about them, and that's a first. Not only do they do an amazing job, they're also incredibly nice people, which goes a long way for me. You have to call and schedule an appointment because they fill up fast, but it's worth it. read more

No don't go here unless you want your nails ruined. I went here to get my gel extensions removed with anywhere else they soak them in acetone and the gel will slide off. Here though the started with the acetone and after a minute the girl complain that they where taking to long so she busted out the drill. After about 5 minutes of drilling at my nail she said I was done there where still massive chunks of the gel left on my nails. I repeated that I didn't want any gel left. So she kept drilling at my nails until I started bleeding, she had drill through my natural nail. I told her she was done and I was leaving. Just typing this is so painful. Don't go here unless you plan on not having any nails left. read more

Excellent! I've been trying different nail salons since moving to the area. All so far have been ok and clean but I've finally found my go-to at Beauty Depot. I made an appointment for a mani-pedi which was easy to get. The place is super clean and doesn't have the clutter that a lot of nail salons have like Christmas decorations still hanging in July, plastic plants, etc. but I digress. The pedicure was great, with a longer foot massage than most places do these days. The woman did my mani-pedi also made sure my nails were even, another thing few places take the time to do anymore. I noticed that a lot of the clients were regulars, which indicates consistent good service. Mani-pedi was $45 which seems like a great price in this day and age. Also great selection of polish and well organized. Finally, I overheard one of the women giving a fill-in to a regular provide tips on how to make her nails last longer, requiring less frequent fill-ins. I really liked hearing this and appreciated no attempted upsells during my visit. I'll be back!! read more

I've been going to this salon for almost a year with no problems. I got a fill on a Sunday and by Tuesday, 3 of my nails on my right hand were lifting and chipping. By Wednesday my hand looked like it had gone through a shredder and my thumb on my left hand was lifting! I couldn't get to the salon to get them fixed and I am livid at the shoddy workmanship on my nails. I'm definitely going somewhere else from now on. read more

This is the first nail salon that I have been to where my nails are done with quality and are long lasting. They are busy because of how awesome they are so you should call ahead of time and make an appt. I watched them care for a client on crutches, did her finger nails and toes in the pedicure chair so she would not have to move all around. I am a physical therapist so that was the cherry on top. They are sanitary which is nice during the COVID times and very friendly. read more

New to the area and have been searching for a place to replace my great nail salon in BK. It seems there are not a lot of good quality options out here so I decided to try Beauty Depot. It seems popular, i walked in and the place was full. The woman that helped me was able to squeeze me in for a quick pedi but not a mani so make your appointments! The tech did a pretty good job. The massage although quick, was great. My nails look fine. I was surprised however by the price, $25.00 for a simple pedicure. I expected prices to be a bit lower than in the city. I didn't see fresh sanitized tools being opened from a package like at other salons however they use a tub liner which is a plus. I trust/hope they are sanitizing tools between use. I am open to trying them again, this time with an appointment. read more

A mani-pedi is my favorite self-indulgence. I like to get my toe nails painted fun colors and the hallmark of a great place for me is whether they make it weird for a guy to get color. The first time I walked in, the owner looked at me and said "Color's on the wall." #winner Great service quality: one pedicure lasted through 3 sandy beaches and two snorkeling adventures, still looking great. Tanya, the owner is friendly, and welcoming and inspires the same in her staff. The shop is clean and bright with great energy. Stop by, or make an appointment, you won't be sorry. read more

I am always looking for a great place to get a pedi. I have tried many in Kingston. This is my first visit to Beauty Depot. There are five pedi chairs and six mani chairs available. The service was efficient and simple. I was trimmed, legs massaged, and had my heels buffed. The paint job was nice. I'm not sure if they offer other pedi options but for a quick stop this worked. They end with a should and neck massage while your toes dry. I will be back. read more

This place does beautiful work, I am upstate for vacation and was reluctant to try a new salon especially at its incredibly affordable price. The experience was amazing everyone was warm and friendly to me and the tech I had did the design I wanted identical to the reference photo I gave her. The overall salon is also very nice and clean. Be sure to call ahead to get pricing. I had had waxing there previously and went back to have a less done. It was quite speedy and less meticulous, still I ended up being the same as what I paid last time. There was no way to show or prove anything and awkwardly tried to explain what parts of my body were and were waxed in front of customers. I left feeling very uncomfortable, and as though I was trying to swindle them or something when I was just hoping for equity in pricing. Regardless of this pricing debacle, the service there is pretty good, not amazing, but good and they offer many services. I feel so unsure whether to return (and call ahead) or go elsewhere that doesn't make up pricing on the spot. read more

I called the night before to make an appointment after seeing all their amazing reviews on Yelp. Although I was very happy when I got there for my appointment and didn't have to wait too long, the quality of the work didn't meet what any of the reviews had expressed. My two younger sisters had manicures. One have them came out really terrible, honestly could have done a better job at home myself... nail polish was left all over the skin. My own gel manicure came out pretty good with the exception of the designs, which don't really match on both hands. The price for the gel mani was great but for a regular mani it was pricy for a poor job. All in all I don't think we will be returning. read more

I've been to a lot of nail salons over the years and Beauty Depot is the best. Friendly staff and overall good atmosphere. I got a full set of acrylics for $40, $20 for a fill. They have never split, chipped or broke; this place uses good quality product. It's hard to find the perfect nail salon.. especially in an area you're not from! I was visiting my boyfriends parents and his mother and I came here. Had the best acrylics done by Tony (THE BEST) and Tanya is the sweetest! She did my boyfriends nails and it turned out perfectly. Anytime I'm back, I'm definitely making it a point to come by. Excellent find! I walked in with my Mom on a Saturday afternoon and they were luckily able to accommodate us. They recently opened in February 2015 and everything still looks brand new and the salon is very clean. We were staying in Woodstock and couldn't find a place there for an appointment so we drove to Kingston. They did a great job (their massage chairs were awesome) and they are reasonably priced. They were offering a $35 mani/pedi special. I highly recommend! read more

Zero Stars - Absolutely Disastrous Experience…read more I am beyond dissatisfied with my recent visit to Artisan Beauty. I had an appointment with Jessica, but upon arrival, I was not informed she was unavailable,/not there and my service was actually done by Abby, who I did not book with but since she didn't introduce herself I assumed she was Jessica. Abby was only a year out of school and had minimal experience. I intentionally avoided scheduling with her on the booking site due to her limited expertise, bait and switch. WTF. From the outset, Abby did not introduce herself or communicate with me effectively. During the haircut, it became evident that she was in over her head. I was informed midway through that I was her "first live bob," which immediately raised concerns. The result was a jagged, uneven haircut--particularly noticeable with one side much shorter than the other. When I asked about the back of my hair, I was shocked to hear that Abby had "left it" uncut, prompting me to ask, "Did you even cut the back?" She responded, "No, do you want me to?" At that point, I should have stopped the service altogether. I walked out without paying for the service, as I was appalled by the state of my hair. To make matters worse, Eden, the owner, was dismissive and condescending when I sought assistance. She insisted the cut was "fine" and downplayed my very real frustration. She'd fix it but if this is fine to her, no way was I letting her chop off more and making this nightmare worse. I am now left with a haircut that requires immediate correction from another stylist, and I'll be forced to wear a hat until it can be fixed. This experience was truly unacceptable, and I strongly advise anyone considering this salon to think twice. I fully expect a defensive, unprofessional response to this review from the owner, but I'm sharing my experience in hopes of preventing others from facing the same disappointment. Editing to say: after washing my hair twice, there is still terrible chemical smell that I can only compare to that 80's perm smell that I am old enough to remember what that smells like. What the hell chemical was used in my hair that I did not ok? To say I am mad is an understatement. How dare you do this to my hair? Editing again to say that the person who did this to my hair was Abby, not Amber, I edited my review, she failed to introduce herself to me at all I had to look her up on their booking site.

Originally, I sought out La Tua Bella due to (1) prices and (2) reviews. When I started going, every 8 weeks religiously 3+ years ago, I could get a haircut, root touch-up & highlights, for around $200 plus tip (and I always tipped $100+ in cash). By my last appointment, that price had snuck up to nearly $375 (plus tip). At that point, I could have the same services, completed at the same skill level, cheaper and without the 3 hour round-trip drive. In fact, my new salon is 10 minutes from my home. At my last appointment, I asked if older clients could be grandfathered-in on prices a bit and was told no. I was also told by a stylist that I wasn't the only one experiencing the very sudden and severe sticker shock, despite being assured that prices "have only gone up 10%." I can assure you, at least when I got up to the register, the prices basically doubled for the same services. Again, I'm extremely sad to have left this salon after 3+ faithful years. I just can't justify the expense, especially if the salon is unwilling to negotiate with existing clients.

From the minute I walked in, Sara treated me like royalty. She listened to what I wanted, as I did not want too much taken off my length. She executed the most flattering haircut for me, especially given my super fine hair at the moment. Frey (sp?) cut my hair. I'm a fussy guy but he did it exactly the way I like it. I called the day before and was fortunate to have gotten squeezed in for next day. When we arrived we received friendly greetings from Peter and the staff. The shop was attractive well lit and clean . My girlfriend was with me and she also got a trim too. We're heading out of the country very soon so we're happy to get this done and pleased to look so well groomed, too. They'll be my regular stylist as long as I'm in the area. Marie and Alyse were our super friendly stylists and did a fantastic job! We have thick heads of hair which isn't easy to tame, but they knocked it out of the park and we left very happy campers. The vibe is very relaxed and down to earth which we love. A great big thank you to Marie, Alyse, Nate at the front desk and Pete the owner I believe, who were all awesome. Great establishment and very close to our hotel, Mirbeau. Most definitely recommend.
