Update-first time I came the owner did my nails and was so nice. I went back a few weeks later and unfortunately I will never go back. An older woman did my nails. She provided the worst service and gave me the worst anc manicure I've ever had. I asked her to cut my cuticles which were dry and needed to be cut and she said NO. She did not fully remove my red nail polish. It is showing through the light pink I chose . I aSked her to remove the red polish around my nails and her reply was "no".."no you can do it later", implying I could chip away the old polish she failed to remove , myself, later... ?! What??! The application of the powder was lumpy thick and uneven, I had to ask her to file my nails evenly and she did not . These images of my nails are only four days after my service. You can see the red polish she refused to remove around . Four days later my nails are dry, pulling from the nail bed and chipping. I will never go back

Great job. Nails don't split or crack and polish lasts a long time. I used to bite my nails but no more!

The worst nail place I've ever been. Long wait and then told to come back. Who runs a business like that! And its so dirty.

RECOMMEND Becky worked her magic beautifully. I needed the…read moreacrylic fake nails removed- after an event I had attended 6 weeks earlier. On my own- I tried soaking and removing with no luck. Becky was able to effortlessly and patiently remove the fake nails with far less damage to my actual nail than I ever could have managed. I am not in the habit of having my nails done, so not a regular client, and she is very busy, but still promptly called me when she had an unexpected opening. Terrific service and pleasant conversation... so much so, I will consider my next perhaps for the holidays! I include this image, I think they came out better than I imagined, Pink for October- Breast Cancer Awareness; ( if only you could have seen the disaster she started with, you'd agree she is magic!) I am most pleased and grateful she didn't even charge me an arm and a leg. She was straight forward with reasonable pricing over the phone. Thank You! (P.S. check out the other items in the 2nd business,"Shoppe Girl" at this location for some great treasures!)

Rebecca and her daughter are hilarious--I went for a pedicure and didn't open my book because they kept me in stitches with stories about Red Hook and other things. There's free parking behind the shop, which is a bit hidden down an alley, and Rebecca has a GREAT selection of polishes. I am so happy to have found this place. Just know that there is only room for one customer at a time; not a place where you can go and hang with three friends getting mani/pedis at the same time.

It was so bittersweet after my Colombian nail tech in my previous White Plains neighborhood…read morementioned that she will not be able to return to NY. On the other hand, cutting out that hour and a half drive to get to her (I'd catch up with a bulk of other errands while I'm at it) gives me some serious time and energy while I'm closer to home. Plus not having her around ;-( gave me a chance to branch out and look for a nail salon in Kingston. A bunch of the low Yelp ratings I saw for other nail salons elsewhere had huge red flags: bad technique, rushed jobs, or even unsanitary tools. The way I see it, when it comes to personal care like nails, you definitely want to see high ratings and consistent praise. I mean, don't you? While Pretty X only has one review, that was enough to bring me here. I honestly came here on a whim. Pretty Xo is dreamy, soft, welcoming and clean. The space has a minimalist-chic feel with their airy, beige walls, flooring is done in blonde wood planks and faux florals adding a touch of color. I started with Lily for my manicure who was super gentle, which I really appreciated. Then Yan took over for my pedicure. She wasn't so frilly- but definitely not rough- just the right amount of strength and attention for my legs. She took her time, especially with trimming and from there, it was all uphill. It's not only about aesthetics (though it's important to me)- it's also about hygiene, safety, and someone working up close and personal on your hands and feet. The $63 price tag is a bit more than what I used to spend, but honestly, it was worth it for the serene and relaxing atmosphere.

since my arrival to the upstate area in '07... finding a place to get my mani/pedi has been even…read moremore challenging than finding a man up here who reads books and has all of his teeth. LOL... seriously... as a native NYCer, I understand that there are two kinds of options... the 'cheap and great' and the 'fancy & fab'. I split my time between both kinds but let me tell you... finding that place that offers an affordable and quality 'quick and good' mani/pedi north of Westchester isn't easy to find. I'd like to point out that I would NEVER plot a bridal whatever like @Brenda H did at this place. if you want that... stop being cheap and go over to Haven for the perks and champagne. however, for those of us who just wanna get er done under the skilled hands of some lovely stereotypical semi-cool 'asians' with the skills... stop looking... your oasis is here. I started going to Red Hook Nails Plus in '09 and pretty much frequent the spot every time I'm on that side of the river (later today will be another one of those times). when I found out I'd be in Tivoli today for a business meeting, my first thought was... awesome! Nails Plus Mani Pedi will be a MUST before I head back over the Rhinecliff Bridge. I love this place for what it is, and wish there were a few more of them around the HV. NOTE: their waxing situation SUCKS, would give 'that' two stars.

The manicure is good but the hands of Gary and Lily together create pure comfort for my overworked legs and hands. The place is convenient to parking, clean and bright. Nothing fancy and not hectic, it doesn't feel like a 'nail factory'. The prices are fair and as marked. The polish choices are many and the courtesy and smiles are plentiful. English is spoken and they know and care for their clients. While there are other nice, small salons such as A NAIL AFFAIR (another favorite) in Red Hook, I make the extra time and effort to go to Lily and Gary whenever possible!
