Not only he is professional, knowledgable and skillful but also trustworthy & caring. My past experience at Spas in the Bay Area vs yesterday experience in The Look of Austin in Austin. Professional: Past Experience: Medical Spas I had been to, beside initialing and signing the consent form, answering questions like (things that the specialists need to know), what are the skincare procedures one had been done or any side effects. Yesterday Experience: Dave gave me the similar consent form with similar questions but few more (things that he need to know and care to know) like, how many glasses of water one drink daily, which kind of food one eat the most and blood type. Does one exercise? I didn't understand why did he care about the extra information the other spas did't ask. Daily water intake and eating habit are important talking to him, I understood why he asked. Daily drinking and eating habit could affect our skin. If one sticks to a better diet, one's skin looks healthier, heals faster and staying healthier in the long run. He cares enough to remind us to get/stay in better diet. Knowledge: Past Experience: Specialists explained briefly about the my chosen procedure. If I asked about another treatments, I would have to make another appointment for details. Yesterday Experience: I was interested about at least half of the treatments he provided. He explained them to me and make sure that I understood. He was patience. I hadn't found any beauty specialists/Esthiaian like Dave in the Bay Area. Given the fact that, he is male (usually/often.....male could have less patience) Skillful: Past Experience: a couple of aestheticians and estheticians in a couple of Bay Area Spas were very good in what they were doing. Only one aesthetician I used in Los Altos was not so pleasant. She didn't listen to my concern about my skin and insist to poke my acne on my forehead, even I said, "No". It was a bit uncomfortable. She left me a temporary scar for 9 months. Yesterday Experience: Dave listened to what I concerned and explained clearly what he would be doing before the procedure. He worked on my face carefully and checked in to see I was ok very often. He was skillful as I didn't feel any uncomfortableness during the procedure. Trustworthy: I was hoping the IPL would help me to lighten my skin and balance my skin tone. Recent Experience: Before I purchased this Groupon, I did go to a couple medical spas in the Bay Area and check to see whether IPL could help my concern. They told me that that would be the right choice for me and I would get the result I want. Yesterday Experience: Dave based on my intake information, He explained to me that I was NOT the candidate for that procedure. According to The Fitzpatrick Skin Type, my skin type fell into the Category 5 which IPL wouldn't have much effect on my face. He advised that I shouldn't waste money on this procedure. He pointed out another treatment that could help me. The cost of that treatment was inexpensive. Unlike other skincare specialists I had gone, he didn't try to upsell me another skincare products. His honest quality was quite hard to find. Caring: Past Experience: Medical Spas I had been, specialists often just handed the Post Treatment Instruction to me and told me to read it at home. If I had any questions, call them during the business hours. Yesterday Experience: After the procedure, Dave handed me the Post Treatment Instruction but SURPRISEDLY he explained to me line by line. He cared enough to make sure that I fully understood the post treatment before letting me step out his spa. David, the owner is darling; very kind and sociable, he makes you feel relaxed and comfortable discussing your insecurities and what you would like to gain from the treatment. Hi. I had my first ever ultherpy face tightening treatment today. I've been wondering about alternatives to surgery and the skin Especially on my neck is Definitely sagging. I'm 64.5 years old. I was thrilled with the immediate results especially on my neck and I know my skin will tighten mote on the next several weeks. Looks like i dogged the knife for quite a while longer. I am so happy to have found David and The Look Austin! I started with Ultherapy and microneedling for my face and neck in January. Since then I've seen a big difference! I will start by saying that David is pretty awesome. I have been seeing him for my IPL facial treatments and have had very nice results. He gets the sessions done at your pace. Faster if you prefer or a bit slower if you need a minute (since IPL isn't always the most comfortable of treatments). When I complained about aging and my Sun spots on my hands, he recommended that I also treat them with IPL. He only charged $20 or $30 extra for the hand treatments. The results are outstanding after just 2 treatments. Almost all of the spots are gone and my hands look so much younger! I wish that I had done it sooner, but frankly, I hadn't even thought of it. Another plus is that I have never waited more than 3 minutes past my appointment time. Love his timeliness. He runs great specials too. I just got a 3 treatment package for micro needling for $150. I had been thinking about trying it, so when he mentioned that he had a special running, I signed up. His treatment rooms are inside the State Farm building and he has styled them very nicely. He has an awesome aerial view of a creek with rushing water (one side of the building is on stilts). It's quite beautiful. He has a great personality and he is fun to talk to as well. I don't know what I just stumbled upon by oh my god that was incredible. I needed to do something about my melasma and by sheer luck found Dave and called him. He answered the phone on a Saturday and I was in my appointment the following Wednesday. I'm only just starting down the skin care path and found my guru on my first phone call. I cannot believe my luck. Damn you, Yelp for not letting me give him more than 5 stars. He deserves 100! Nonetheless, he's exceptional, the entire experience from beginning to end was exceptional. The office is adorable, it overlooks the water and he even had the window open so we could hear the water flowing by. It's really comfortable, charming, and welcoming. His intake form is so oddly detailed that he really can deduce exactly where you are coming from in terms of skin care, background, diet, lifestyle etc. I actually learned so much about myself just from the conversation surrounding my responses on the form- things that I had NO idea related to my skin issues were causing complications. I truly don't think I've ever met someone that is as knowledgeable about this stuff than Dave. It truly is a passion for him. He's so helpful and truly gives you honest feedback and recommendations, steering you away from costly and frustrating products and procedures. He kept reminding me that so much of what I needed was within my own control and free! I went to David for an IPL Treatment to help treat my rosacea. Be aware that he currently (Jan 2017) shares his treatment space in a nice room within a hair and nail salon in Suite #123 (I can't recall the name of this business; I think it's temporary though, he's planning on a larger space). Though it may not be what you first expect - you will not be disappointed!! Dave is super knowledgeable and professional and utilizes top of the line equipment. He's truly passionate about beauty and skin care and I could tell this within 5 minutes of our consultation, which was very thorough! Not only did we discuss my skin care concerns, he also gave me some great hair health care recommendations completely unsolicited. He's knowledgeable about dietary concerns and how this affects the hair and skin (he mentioned he was vegetarian). We chatted for quite a bit. Discovered he left the high tech industry to pursue this career in skin care and cosmetology and I get a real sense of how he's really following his passion - which are always the kind of people you want for services like this. So I never thought I would EVER get my Brazilians done by a guy but Dave is absolutely the most professional, wonderful, gentle, and thoughtful aesthetician out there. I used to dread getting waxed because, let's be real, beauty is pain and it hurts like a mother trucker to get a brazillian. However, whatever method Dave utilizes greatly reduces the pain; I would rate it to a brazilian at European wax center with their special (expensive) wax.
