I can't say enough nice things about this place. I've been seeing Jaci off and on for over a decade, taking off hair here and there (face, neck, chest) to make my life a little easier. I haven't shaved my face in years, and those daily minutes add up to some serious time over the course of a lifetime. Plus, no more razor burn and ingrown hairs! I'm 40, but people tell me I look 30. I strongly suspect it's because I don't even have the shadow of a beard. I went to see Jackie because I had an aggressive toenail fungus on 7 of my toes. Before going to Tender Laser Care, I tried numerous home remedies as well as prescription medication - nothing worked. I was skeptical about the laser but I can tell you that it absolutely worked for me. Only 4 treatments with Jackie and my fungus was totally gone. I've been wanting to get my teeth whitened and decided to try this place out because it's close to my house. I wasn't sure about the results with LED light since I used to get gels and trays from my dentist. But it worked! And in 30 minutes. I had having to wear trays at night and it took weeks. I did the IPL photofacial treatment after buying a living social promotion. The staff was courteous on the phone. I was able to schedule an appt within 24 hrs. The procedure was not too uncomfortable. The scheduler on the phone said that I should get numbed up prior but the esthetician didn't think it was necessary which I agree with. Right afterwards I had a sunburn, then coffee ground looking stuff on the treated areas. 1.5 weeks later I am super happy with the results. There's a bunch of sun spots that are much lighter after only one treatment. My skin looks smoother and more even. I am trying not to be too vain as I age, but I really hated those sun spots. I kinda like the simple office park atmosphere, not too fancy which the price reflects. There was no up sell although I did buy some sunscreen anyways . "fast food equivalent of a salon" The place doesn't look like Salon and the staff don't seem like a salon employee in their attitude. (Yes, I appreciate a smile even if it's fake) The person who did the photo-facial rushed me in and out of there in 15 minutes. This could be a good thing If I told her that I was in hurry. And this is how she saved "HER" time. She didn't give me any pre or post care explanation. She didn't wrap my hair and the cooling gel got on my hair. She didn't apply the cooling gel one side at a time nor thoroughly. She didn't ask me if I was feeling okay. She just slapped the gels all over my face and went through with the laser like a race car driver. If it was cheaper than other salon, I may still consider going there. But it's not. read more

Straight to the point- I go the first 5 sessions and it goes smoothly. I try calling them 4 different times to try and set up an appointment for my 6th (last session) and they don't call back. Was frustrated because I had already paid for the session I never got. I notice ALL the hair grow back and they said its not supposed to be permanent so I just paid all this money for just 1 week of no hair?? I went somewhere else and for the same price I haven't had any hair for over a year now. Tender laser care is pretty much a scam for their laser hair treatments. After having my laser hair removal performed here by Deanna over a year ago, I decided it was time for a touch-up. This time, Deanna was no longer there :( so, I was scheduled with Ciara. I was told she would be using a new laser on me that works for lighter skin, so she would use this on my underarms and bikini area, then switch over to a different setting for my darker legs. We started with my underarms, which were fine as I only had a few hairs growing in. Then, we moved to my bikini, which was slightly painful, but nothing I couldn't or hadn't handled before. When she began moving to my leg, I asked if she was going to switch it over or not. She said no and wanted to try this laser on my leg. Kind of strange, since she said she'd been over my file and noticed I had hyperpigmentation issues, mentioned she was going to switch, then decided not to last minute. Well, I immediately felt much more pain than the other areas. Since she's the professional and seemed like she knew what she was doing, I continued. About halfway through, I was writhing in pain. Obvious red spots and welts began to form. At this point, she began telling me stories about other patients with the same reactions and other laser techs with the same results. Um, not what I want to hear as you're burning my skin off. But she kept on going. She completed the top half of my right leg, at which point felt like it was ON FIRE. She switched to a different setting for the other leg, because I told her I couldn't handle that again. This leg had no reactions whatsoever. It took 4 hours for the burning sensation on my right leg to go away. Two days later and I'm still in pain, have trouble sleeping on that leg, can't wear pants or even long skirts to hide the marks, because any friction causes pain. I have now started developing blisters and am worried what kind of permanent damage has been caused. Ciara had mentioned she has been performing laser treatments for a year and a half. By this point, I would expect my tech to stop and assess the situation when your client is exhibiting pain the way I was. She was nice enough and I tried being cordial. I understand mistakes happen, but I've been encouraged to write a review, because I don't want anyone else to experience this the way I did. Please be careful and if something doesn't feel right, do not continue! In my experience, I would rather have more sessions at a lower setting, than have a higher setting hoping to get immediate results. read more

My two biggest surprises of laser hair removal: the sessions are FAST and the discomfort is nothing compared to what I had envisioned. I have been very pleased with my laser hair removal sessions thus far. Its a small little hole in the wall, but I think many of them are. They don't need much other than the laser after all! It would be nice if they sold numbing cream individually to a client instead of using the communal numbing cream. But that is very minor in comparison to their great prices and flexible schedule. They even take walk ins! I have really appreciated them not trying to "up-sell" me in the least. Not a mention about how I should do microdermabrasion or lash extensions. They offer those services too but they aren't pushy with sales at all. Love that. They seemed to have some of the best prices as well, look for coupons/fliers in the mail especially if you live near their office. You don't have to have a contract, they'll honor whatever pricing you come in at for the duration of your time getting that area treated. Recently redeemed a GROUPON for an IPL photofacial. The girls were friendly and answered a million questions I had about various services they offer. Does this place look like a day spa? No, not really. But I wasn't expecting a luxury treatment and for what I paid, considered this to be a really great deal. Horrible experience!!! If I could do no stars that's would have been my choice!!!! Since I started my treatment I received conflicting stories on what to do after the treatment. The treatments with the laser were different and the techs were different every single time. The treatments varied from tech to tech and how sloppy they were. I bought a Living Social deal for an IPL Photofacial at Tender Lase Care. Turns out IPL Photofacial does not work for African American skin generally so my Living Social deal could not be used. I called Tender Laser and spoke with Amber and Deanna. They were so nice!!! Completely empathized with me and offered to exchange my deal with another service. I appreciate that they called to explain they were at dinner... But as one business owner to another... I suggest you update your hours on your door to reflect your hours and/or post a notice that states you are out but will be back by a certain time. It would help with any confusion. BEWARE! I got multiple sessions of laser hair removal for my underarms and lower legs. The treatments were kind of working but not super well. The girl switched me over to another laser and gave me a free session and by the time I stopped going, I was seeing little to no hair growth and went from having to shave every other day to maybe a stray hair every couple weeks. Fast forward a couple months and all the hair has grown back like I never had anything done. When I called them, they basically said that laser hair removal is not permanent and that you have to come in for maintenance sessions, something I was NEVER told. She said that it's not actually even "removal" of the hair, to which I replied that the sign on their door even says laser hair removal! I was told if my hair would respond to the treatment, all the hair should be gone in 6-8 sessions, maybe as many as 10. And that was it, no more razors! Well, the girl on the phone is now telling me that people usually have to come in every couple months to once a year or two to get additional treatments and that things like stress and hormones can make the hair grow back. Really? I have to come back in for another $150 treatment every time I get stressed? I feel like I totally got scammed out of about $1000 because I would have NEVER made this major financial investment if I had known it would need to be repeated as often as every couple months. As a side note, I don't know if their lasers are lower quality or what but I got laser hair removal done on another area by another company and the results of that have held up much better. Do your research. I have read several things after researching this that says laser hair removal isn't removal at all, it's reduction, and that the only FDA approved way to get permanent hair removal is electrolysis. Don't get scammed out of thousands of dollars of treatments for something that may only last a couple months! read more

Don't bother! The appointments always seem to get messed up. I don't want to speak ill of the elderly but to me, it sounds like the older owner is the one who schedules the appointments but I don't think she's ever around. Bad way to run a business...period. The place is also very junky looking, there are weight loss flyers everywhere like one of the workers is trying a side business? The only reason I went there was because I liked the girl who worked on me but she no longer works there. A friend and I went in for an IPL treatment. We were really excited. We were taken into separate rooms. After ten minutes, a lady came in to apply a numbing cream/gel. She then went into my friend's room and did the same. She said the numbing will take approximately ten minutes to kick in. My friend and I didn't see either girl for the next 45 minutes. When Monique came in she almost looked put out. She was not personable at all (no eye contact or friendliness). When we went into the treatment room, she explained that that customers tend to react to the sound of the treatment. She said that it would be warm. Holy crap, it was so painful! I thought my face was burning. I asked her to stop twice because it was so painful. She stopped, but she didn't show any concern. Monique then got my friend. With my friend, Monique did not ask her any questions. She did not go over the questionare my friend filled out. She came across very cold. Monique did not give her any pre/post care info. During the treatment her face started blanching with an intense burning. We received this treatment approximately a month ago, and my friend still has hypo-pigmentation to the sides of her face. I will never go back! We were going to tip, but that didn't happen! We came in with a groupon deal. Was the treatment so poor because we weren't big spenders? read more

I have been going here since about 2009 and was satisfied, but unfortunately over the last couple of years they have lost their long term technicians. Maybe it's me, but I like to see the same faces when I go into a SPA, especially when it comes to getting "personal" stuff handled. Laser hair removal, putting needles in your face, etc. I've made numerous appointments that were either rescheduled at the last minute, or when I got there, the only tech that could do my procedure wasn't there. I really like the owner, & all the folks that work there are very nice, too. I just don't like the turn over, & the inconsistency in trying to get (and keep) an appointment. I hope they figure out because they have great prices, but you have to have someone reliable to deliver the goods! read more

I had been going to Tender Laser Care for laser hair removal for about a year and have been seen by Monique and very satisfied with the results. I started out on my under arms and now working my way to bikini line, so far I have been pleased. As for my experience at first when you haven't been used to a laser it's a shock but then you get used to it. One thing I'll note is if you're on your period your skin can be more sensitive. For those who haven't been satisfied with hair removal it also depends on volume of hair growth and/or hormonal factors which can take more treatments or it may not be the best option cost wise. Sometimes you don't know until you explore it. @Teresa W- why have you continued to go back when you obviously weren't satisfied with your first experience? You had written several negative reviews after each experience to complain so why did you keep going back?? In my personal experience one bad salon experience would not entice me to go back to the same place ever, even if they offered free stuff on top of it. Unless it's your aim to get free services. Being a former esthetician myself I refuse to go back to any place that I had a bad experience from. I've been getting laser hair removal treatments at TLC for 9 months and have only great experiences at the salon. I am treated for my underarms, full legs and Brazilian. I have had the pleasure of being treated by Jacqueline as well as Ciara multiple times and they are both very thorough and professional and make me feel uber comfortable through the entire treatment. Results have been wonderful and they have great client support. Very patient with you if you have questions and understanding if you have to switch appointment times. Review #2: The owner of Tender Laser Care, JoAnn, called me and she is still saying it was my fault due to purchased the 2nd package through Groupon and they are nice enough to allow me to use up my 2 prepaid un-used visits (a different reason to blame me this time). At my 4th visit on 11/30/2016, I showed Jackie the Groupon's redemption code for the 2 package at the Round Rock location which she never mentioned that I violated the rule (Groupon's fine print) until today/10 months later. After all the conflicts, I DO NOT feel that Jackie is competent enough to preform the photofacial treatments/IPLs (which is laser medical device treatment) on my FACE anymore due to her unprofassionally accused me before she is capable of seeking out the facts. The TLC owner asked me "what can we do to make you not being upset?" and "do you want Ciara to write you a note? and do you want Jackie to write you a note?". I answered the TLC owner I only want my 2 un-used treatments refunded and along with a formal apology statement from the staff and Tender Laser Care but she said it's not possible and refused. After all, I am NOT asking more than what I paid but agreed to what she offered (I agreed to the part of "do you want Ciara to write you a note? and do you want Jackie to write you a note?"). After all the insults, accusing and their mistaken by jumping into conclusion before they clear everything with Groupon there is NO APOLOGY from Tender Laser Care but telling me I took it too PERSONAL. Who wouldn't take it personal when given no chance to explain before they accused me something I didn't do with numbers of the insulting emails by TLC's staff? She said "do whatever you want", "I've live longer than you" and "what goes around comes around" then she disconnected the call while I was still in the middle of a conversation. This shows how unprofessional they are at handling their business. Again, according to the owner of Tender Laser Care, JoAnn, "by law, at the beginning of each new year all the clients must to be seen by TLC's clinical doctor". I was never seen by TLC's doctor before my appointment on 1/10/2017 (my first appointment in 2017), before my appointment I expressed my concern to JoAnn for the fact that I was never been seen by TLC doctor and JoAnn said that it was okay not to be seen by their doctor and I still can keep my appointment for the treatment. I was treated by TLC technicians a total of 7 times (6 photofacials/IPLs and 1 red spot removed above the right eye) and I never saw their physician once!! Their Groupon advertisement stated "Consultation with doctor required". According to Texas Medical Board, that Intense Pulsed Light Devices (IPLs) are regulated as a prescription medical device that must be used under the supervision of a practitioner. A practitioner in Texas is defined as a physician, dentist, optometrist, podiatrist, or veterinarian (Section 483.001(12), Health and Safety Code). Secondly, according to Texas Department of State Health Services, there are nonsurgical medical cosmetic procedures for the physician to follow as well. If you might be thinking of using this business, I strongly suggest you to read all TLC's Yelp good and bad reviews and all PICTURES for your own safety. Yelp is the review website that business owners can not edit the reviews. The owner of Tender Laser Care asked me to remove the review but with her unprofessionalism I don't feel it is fair to remove my review for other viewers. They can keep my donation of $183.00 (the cost of my 2 un-used photofacial visits) and I really do hope TLC will learn how to treat their clients with RESPECT before they can confirm the facts in the future. A few red flag facts for a medical spa business: 1) Is the business listed with Better Business Bureau? 2) For your own safety, do they have a physician in house for the emergency or immidate care for any their prescription medical devices if anything goes wrong? 3) Have you ever had the pre-treatment exam by their facility physician? 4) Have the business caused physical damage to any of their clients? 5) Is their price is too cheap compare to other bigger local facilities? read more

Oh how I hate thee, let me count the ways! This place couldn't even get my appointment right and when I did show up, oh they didn't schedule enough time for my lash extensions. She offered to 'see how far she could get' -- ON MY EYES, REALLY? See how far you get? Even better -- she saw that morning that my appointment had been made incorrectly because, as she shared, their receptionist didn't know much about lashes. Nice. And even after seeing this she didn't bother to call to let me know -- but rather waited until I drove 30 minutes to get there! I've not had any issues with wrong or not enough booked time. I've received numerous photofacials there and am happy with the results. Some of the technicians take longer than others but I've always had my hair wrapped and the gel applied just fine. The techs are always nice. I think the pricing is much better than other swanky salons. As long as it gets the job done, I'd rather have the discount than someone serving me tea when I arrive. read more

Tender laser care is amazing. I can actually afford to get my hair removal done for me and my two teenage girls, and anyone who is a single mom knows that just getting hair removal done for one person is a huge expense, so doing it for the three is amazing. But they make it so affordable that I can actually get everything we want done, when we want it done. But the great thing is they don't cut costs on their lasers to give me a cheap treatment and they don't skimp out on the treatment itself either, Jackie is the most thorough technicia I have ever had for any treatment. She has also very reassuring and patient and makes everything painless as possible. I even had a friend who was terrified of any type of pain come in and I had them to her chin because she had a lot of chin hair and it was driving me crazy ( and I know she was so self conscious about it), and Jackie talked her through the whole procedure and calmed her down (even when she's the biggest baby on earth when it comes to pain, if she stubs a toe, she literally starts crying), and after her first treatment, we got home and she was asking when can we book the next appointment! goes to show what a great technician and state-of-the-art equipment, can do.
