Con's: Price keeps changing every time I go. $45, $55, $65, $95. I always do same thing; root color, blow out and sometimes cut or trim. The guy with the silver hair isn't consistent w/cut. First time he cut long layers on my thick one length hair. He kind of missed the top, I had someone else correct it. The 2nd time I went in just for a trim and root color. He couldn't follow the long layer patrern, It's so choppy and the layers do not flow. Then he also thinned my hair out. I don't ask to have it thinned out. He then charged me $95 for roots color, bad choppy trim and a blow out. I paid $100 in San Mateo to fix his choppy hair cut. I can't go back again unless it's just to color roots and blow out. read more

I didn't have an appointment and just walked in on a Friday afternoon, but they greeted me right away and got me seated quickly, which I really appreciated. I was happy to see Kevin again since he did such an amazing job on my haircut last year -- and once again, he did not disappoint! I asked for the same style as before: curtain bangs to frame my face and layered cuts. I even showed him photos of the haircut he gave me last time, and he was able to recreate it perfectly with very minimal instructions. Kevin is very detailed and friendly, and he made sure throughout the appointment that everything looked the way I wanted. After the cut, he worked his magic and styled my hair beautifully. My hair felt much lighter, healthier, and refreshed by the end. If you have thick, long hair, and want a long layers cut. Then you should avoid the man with WHITE hair, he did me so so wrong for the price that I paid for. Made my hair super choppy. The layers dont blend in together on the hair of my back, and curtain bangs i asked for is barely cutted and not blend in nicely with my hair from the back either. He barely communicates and just keep on cutting in a mediocrely. It's also my fault for trusting him. The first time I came here is last year, had a great experience with the other hairdressers that black and slightly curly hair he carefully gave me a fine detailed cut and a good blow out, this white hair man didn't. Apparently he also messed up another person hair in the yelp review 9month ago. Which I should've read before I went. *So my advice is to let the one with black curly hair do your haircut instead so that you won't hate your life. Definitely never coming back. read more

Went on Saturday morning after a DIY box color fail and Maggie absolutely delivered! I asked for an ash brown/blonde color and I was so happy to get a natural ombré. I was brought into a private room where Maggie + another experienced colorist discussed the best way to correct my brassiness. I ended up having bleach, toner, and color #3/#4 on my roots and ends. The total came out to $300+ after 2.5hrs of hard work from both colorists with 2x wash (head massage with purple shampoo) and styling with Dyson hair tools. So lucky to have found a hidden gem in Elk Grove with recent remodeling, and the staff are trilingual in English, Mandarin and Cantonese. I needed another one but Maggie wasn't available that day so I decided to trust one of the men to do my hair, I can't remember who it was exactly. I asked for lots of layers and a short length haircut. I was left with super choppy short hair. The top layer was so short and thick and looked like an ugly bob on one side, so uneven compared to the other side! The bottom layer was left so thin. I am very upset at this haircut! read more

I came here based on Yelp pictures for Maggie's haircuts. Staff are all masked and the premises are clean. What a gem! I've been to fancy salons in SF, but have not had a better cut than today. I told Maggie that I wanted to trim off 3 inches and chunky layers with a U shape in the back. She got it right away and completed the trim in 30 mins! Nothing complex or more than a simple cut, I assume. That's all I needed and really, if you want something more for that price-- You have to question if you're really gonna get what you asked for. No wash. My hair got sprayed to wet it, she cut it, dried it, showed me what's left, I paid and was out. I've returned and the woman was not available and got a dude. My bf has gone to the original Beauty Paradise for years and I mean YEARS. Every week. 20 minute drive there, 20 minute drive back. It was a very pleasant surprise when his barber, Maggie, informed us that she was opening their second location right in Elk Grove!! I went with him to get his hair cut (religiously only by Maggie) and saw that they do European facials at this location. Originally $60 but now only $39.99. Now that I'm almost 30 -_- I've read that I need to start having facials several times a year so I decided to try it out! My face felt amazzzzzing afterwards. Incredibly smooth and soft. My friends have told me about shopping around for a facial lady but I think I've found her.
