James went above and beyond for me - can't recommend highly enough! I came in with a pretty badly botched highlight job from another salon. It required pretty significant corrective work, and James and his team did an absolutely beautiful job and made my hair even more beautiful than I could have hoped. He was meticulous with each strand of my hair and got my highlights and lowlights just right to give me the exact cool blonde I wanted. Excellent skill and thorough work! As if that weren't enough, James told me he wanted to call the salon I had previously come from to advocate for me to receive a refund for the corrective work (which I was much too shy to even consider asking for), and they agreed to do so thanks to the photo evidence he collected from my hair. On top of that, he offered to share his expertise with the stylist at the other salon to help address some of the technical issues he had seen on my hair. Will be my go to salon from now on! Being from this small town, it's hard to find a trusty salon that has the skill and cadence to bring your vision to life. I've been coming here on and off throughout the years but recently have been coming by more often. Truthfully, I've been hesitant in becoming a regular because the environment isn't exactly what I'm used to as salons were always a bigger/rarer treat for myself and I'm a rather timid, shy person who doesn't make much conversation. Everyone here is very kind and confident and can walk you through what needs to be done to meet your hair goals. They do a very good job at checking in and making sure they understand what you want/are looking for! I highly recommend Lisa! She's very kinda and never fails me me. They also do quality work as my hair looks and feels so good after! The price point truly isn't bad either; I find it on the more affordable price point as far as salons go. After too many disappointing experiences at budget salons, I decided to try a local spot with a higher price point ($75) and booked a haircut with Lilly, a junior stylist. Lilly was fantastic! I asked for a layered cut with plenty of face-framing pieces, some side bangs, and to keep my length. She absolutely nailed it -- you could tell she's a perfectionist, making sure every detail matched what I wanted. The cut came out better than how I envisioned. We went here recommended by my daughters best friend. We came from Colour Barne hair to get a quote from them with the picture she showed and they were going to do it but her friend recommended James Mark. We walked in talk to James himself and showed a picture of what she wanted. Picture is attached. Her natural hair color is dark brown which in the picture that's what the girl has and she wanted the reddish/brown with blonde. James first response was we can do balayage and make it look better spread out the blonde instead of it looking like single strips. She goes in, she says seems he didn't pay attention to what she wanted, he didn't ask to see photo again and proceeds to do blonde balayage. I called cause she was upset and crying cause it's not what she wanted so he had us go back next day. This time I came in with her. I sat next to her in salon chair, he asked her what is wrong with the hair. She said well the colors weren't what I wanted it's just blonde and the blonde strip in front looks yellowish. He asked what does he want her to fix? She said can you make the front not look so yellowish and add more blonde to top of back since the reddish/brown was not done. He says no we already did enough blonde I'm not adding more but I can fix the front strips what color do you want it. He has her pick from hair swatches and she picks chestnut. He puts chestnut color front strips, puts the foil leaves to work on someone else and comes back and I said to him, we are going to keep the blonde in the back even though that's not what she originally asked for and just fix the front strip. Figured that was the case since only the front strips had the foil and color. He has his assistant Sadie take her to the back hair wash sink and I'm watching from front and go back to talk to her and I asked her what is she putting on her hair. She said toner to calm the blonde. I said oh ok but we are keeping the blonde correct that's what I told James that we are keeping the blonde in back. She said yes. I go to sit back in front and he must have heard us talking he calls her over upset about something and he's talking to her and she has a very angry look on her face and she says something and drops her arms and shoulder and has a face like she is agitated and that's not what she thought she was doing. I go back again after few minutes see how my daughters doing and I notice the sink and her head is all brown. So I go to the front to Sadie and I said why is her head all brown. She said he said to cover the blonde with Chestnut. I said but I told him we were keeping the blonde and when I talk to you the first time you said you were just putting toner. After they finish and washed her hair and she blow dries her hair, Her hair looks like her original color and clearly I'm upset and I see it in Judy's face she is about to cry because now that she wanted to keep the blonde he colored over it and looks like she didn't even have anything done. He goes back to her and she asked him to cut her hair like in the picture she showed him, like she wanted. She said he said no that wouldn't look right that is too short. So not only did he not do the color right the first time, second time we decided to keep the blonde and he changes the whole head to chestnut, he doesn't do the cut she wanted either. $433 dollars with tip and he didn't do anything we asked, he didn't listen to one word we said. So I get a call from him today 5/12/26 because I emailed him 4/24 and I disputed the cost and we are arguing back and forth. I told him he didn't do the color she wanted in the first place and his response was because that would have cost you more and you already complained about the price. I said I did not complain, I asked what were the charges to make the price that much. Then I said we went back to have you fix it next day and she asked if you can add more blonde to the back because you can barely see it and he refused said no we did enough. So then she asked can you at least fix the front strips so it doesn't look yellow and she picked chestnut to make it darker and told him we are keeping the blonde in back and he colors her whole head chestnut and he says on the phone it wouldn't look right if we just did the front chestnut so I decided to do the whole head chestnut. I said again it's not what you wanted it's what she wanted. Then we proceed to argue about the hair cut. She showed him the cut she wanted and he felt it was too short and it would look like a mullet and she wouldn't like it. I told him he doesn't seem to care what people ask for or listen. If he did the hair cut she wanted and she ended up not liking it then that's her problem, it's not for him to decide about the color or the cut. We pay to have what she wants not what he wants. Bad Customer service by this owner and to argue with me on the phone because I told him he should have done what color and cut she wanted the first time not what he felt would look right. read more

I wish i could of been a good experience but wasn't good, staff was so nice everyone besides the owner, i went to dye my hair purple, before the appointment we agreed on bleach due to my hair being black, but at the appointment there wasn't any bleach i asked and the lady told me that i didn't need bleach because bleach was only for pastel hair, after the appointment my hair was still black, paid 225, we asked if there was anything we could do the owner said i needed bleach and if i wanted to color correct it it would be another 200-300 bucks, promised bleach wasn't getting any bleach, and now they want us to pay more, my uncle asked oh is there anything you could do like if you could do anything because this isn;t what we were expecting or wanted, owner got defensive then said well i should of got bleach then, i was promised bleach but never got any so what do you mean, never got money back, and they didn't even try to help us, he was just aggressive, 225 down the drain for still black hair, but a tiny tiny bit purple in the sun, not anything like the color i wanted, and when i posted it on insta lots of people were telling me to get a refund because it was basically the same, really wish it could of been a better experience, owner didn't even try to help me, besides told me to pay more money to redo it, first experience of dying my hair and definitely the worst, terrible customer service from the owner, but staff was super nice, and the hair washing thing massage was very nice read more

I was looking for a hair salon that would save my hair and since their reviews were good I decided to try them out. I called before hand, made and appointment and was asked to give an 50% deposit. All this was on their website (which I had already seen) and the receptionist also let me know. I showed up at 9 am and was surprised some clients already had a full head of foils on their heads! Nice to know they open early. I waited a little for my stylist and was thoroughly impressed with her communication and took my feedback so well. She left my hair feeling and looking amazing! Only part that I wasn't my favorite was their lack of transparency on the prices of their products. When I asked how much it was they gave me a rough estimate and when I paid my grand total it was a little bit of a shock when my total was a little higher than I expected. For a haircut, and hair oil I paid $130 (this didn't cover tip). So just be aware that it is a little on the higher side and they do require a deposit if you're a new costumer.
